Option to adjust race distance in career races

I'd love to see the option to adjust race distance in all career races (100%, 50%, 25%), with payouts being adjusted accordingly.

Imo GT6 career races are too short, races outside of S-class are no longer than 5 laps, and even S-class races aren't that long (30 minutes at the most). On the other hand there have been complaints from casual players in past GT games about certain races being too long (FGT championship, endurance).

In F1 games players have the option to choose race distance, I think that would be a great feature to include in future GT games.
Casual players could choose shorter race distance (25%) while people who prefer a more realistic experience could choose longer race distance (50%, 100%). Obviously longer distances would pay more (full credit prize for 100% race, half credit prize for 50% race, quarter credit prize for 25% race).

Here's some examples of how race distances could work throughout career:
-beginner races: 100% - 4 laps, 50% - 2 laps, 25% - 1 lap.
-intermediate races: 100% - 50km, 50% - 25km, 25% - 12.5km.
-advanced races: 100% - 100km, 50% - 50km, 25% - 25km.
-endurance races: 100% - 4hrs, 50% - 2hrs, 25% - 1hr.

That would make career races fun to everybody, from casual to hardcore players.

May I suggest options to go beyond and above 100% for even longer challenges and greater rewards!

To be able to adjust race distance is a must for me. I prefer vehicles around 450PP to 550PP but am restricted to 3 lap races in career mode, it's annoying to have to use high performance cars just to get longer races, especially as these cars are beyond me and arcade is too disappointing. It would give me a reason to keep playing anyway.

I wouldn't mind an option for 200% race distance + proper payout in addition to the other race distances suggested in the first post.
Well, enduros should vary, from ~2 h to 24 h races,
I agree.
The first post was just some basic suggestions for race distances. PD could include multiple endurance races at a variety of tracks with 100% distance varying from 2hrs to 12hrs, if you set distance to 200% race length for those races would vary from 4hrs to 24hrs.

I got Grid Autosport recently, one of the cool things I noticed about its career mode is that race length can be adjusted from 1x-5x with XP being adjusted accordingly, so that's clear proof that the suggestion in this thread is doable.

I like the idea and would love a full event creator. However, I feel that extending a race actually makes it easier not harder. You start at the back and only have a few laps to catch the leader and overtake them. A longer race would give you more time to do it. You could make them start even further ahead I suppose but then they'd be almost lapping you.

A few times, I've finished a race in second and thought 'One more lap and I would have caught them'.

Of course, the other open would be to make the AI quicker in the longer races too.

That will only happen if PD doesn't work on improving AI and have option to adjust AI difficulty. Also, if in addition to decent AI PD includes qualifying & option to enable mechanical damage, fuel/tire wear & penalties in all offline modes longer races could be challenging & interesting.
Games such as Race Pro & F1 series have those features, although they aren't perfect a long race in those games can be quite challenging.

Yes, that was my point. Just adding a feature to extend the length of a race wouldn't be enough on it's own, it would make it easier and would be wrong to increase the payout. With your other suggested improvements to AI etc it would be great.
