[ORA] FIA GT World Championship [S3] | TRL_Evo and Ramalhinho are your PRO and AM Champions!Finished

Good Day everyone!

PRO Drivers, please remind to send me your i2 data of the Pre-Season Race 2 on Twin Ring Motegi.

Check the status below:

JLxR16sBrOlSFy4-qcO7vkq5AI7LxMIuy7HI6vfIbhaRvDHpcemE_WHUaNyOiMNwivFvGo0UUAY=w1416-h672

I'll update it since I receive and open the file in Motec, since most of the files I received did not work.

If you are in doubt how to share the data with me, please check the tutorial in the OP, and make sure you shared the 2 files extracted from GT6.

The Track Characteristics sheet of the series won't have the Pre-Season tracks anymore, only the Championship Rounds.

Thank you in advance!

The Ford was quite a handful this week, but did show enough potential for some good results in the coming weeks.

Pre-Event:
The Ford felt very heavy and cumbersome around Motegi when I joined the practice lobby, as opposed to Daytona which had a lot of fairly simple corners to navigate.
Throughout the session I was getting odd tyre temperatures, understeer and an odd sense of sudden rotation mid-corner.
Eventually I got the car to be stable when exiting corners, giving me decent enough acceleration for Motegi's many straights.

Qualifying:
Binned my first Lap, got an average time on my second.

9th

Sprint:
Made up a few places over the opening laps as other drivers got into incidents or fell off the circuit.
Shortly after this I was a few seconds away from P5, with @SSJGZWarrior right behind in P7.
I knew he was faster than me in the corners but so long as I positioned my car right he wouldn't be able to get past.

I pretty much spent the majority of the race defending from him, as he was never more than half a second behind.
Things got interesting for a few laps midway through as @j1Nk went off and ended up just ahead.
For those few laps it was a tough challenge to both attack and defend at the same time.

Eventually he got away and with a lap or 2 to go @SSJGZWarrior finally made a move stick, with me finishing on his rear bumper.

7th

Endurance
Made up 2 places immediately off the start as there was an incident on the inside of Turn 1, and gained a few more as drivers began to fall off the track.
When things settled down I was running in P3 for quite a while before pitting with 42 minutes to go, being the first to switch to RM.

Once I came out I was setting green and purple sectors all over the circuit, rapidly catching the cars ahead.
Had to spend some time getting past @Brutaka and @-vinc'- before continuing my charge up the field.

Once others made their stops I was running in P2 with a good shot at a podium, however an error gave @JakeKing39 a chance to catch up.
He was lagging behind me and when he made his move to pass a minor lag spike pushed his car into mine, giving me damage.

That meant making an unscheduled pitstop dropping me back down the order.
I ended up back in around P8 but raced hard against @Brutaka and others to gain a few spots in the final 15 minutes.

It's a shame as I could well have gotten a podium, but these things happen. Need to get the car handling right before the season starts however as I feel it's holding me back.

For starters, yesterdays Pro race was awsome. The sprint was one hell of a battle between top 4. Then the endurace race didnt dissapoint either with all the battles happening and the different pit stop strategies, how the 1 stop compared to the 2 stops. Was very fun to watch play out. BOP was closer to than last week which brought closer racing.

My only issue with the hole thing is the race broadcast. In my opinion there to much random rambling, and not enough focus on the great race we had yesterday. Notice this to last week at daytona, went into a talk about football at on point? Any way just my opinion, commentary was still pretty decent. Cant wait till round 1

If we knew these battles were going on, we'd have discussed them. :) We could only see about half the track map, and frequently our video feed would go blurry and leave us almost completely blind.

I think it is very tough to stay on point for the races too when they can't see nearly as much or as well as the re-broadcast, it is really hard for them to know exactly what exactly was going on + they can't really see track map. Even @Litchi couldn't fully stay on point and he is the ORA Founder!

They are doing a good job did they go off point with the football yea but when ever I watch Bob varsha, Calvin Fish, Dorshe, etc commentating actual race events they do go off topic at times when there isn't action. So it's realistic. As the season go on they will talk more about the drivers once they get use to the names and the driver's accomplishments.
PJTierney that Ford in the straight was just flying. The Ford is similar to the Audi understeer than an odd oversteer. What I do to balance this is putting all the weight to the front this will balance out the oversteer so it isn't too strong. The Ford was one of the cars I enjoy driving and I personally believe it's one of the fastest with the right tune if you like I can help and we can practice together. I'll admit you didn't make it easy for me to pass and I'm really sorry about that past I felt like I was being a little rough lol

Acceleration was quite good out of the corners; once I got the car straightened up I could just floor it. I did notice however that the Hondas would come back on me further down the straights.

I tried moving more weight to the front but then my issue was that the car began to plough through the corners, especially the many slow ones at Motegi.
There were a few occasions where I simply couldn't turn and ended up in or near a gravel trap with no way to avoid it.

Thanks for offering to help but as it is I don't have a lot of time to practice. For GTPlanet races I'm more of an "arrive and drive" kind of guy, I already spend way too much time tuning for Mega GT and like to have some casual racing evenings now and then ;)
I'll take any tunes or tips you've got though, maybe we could set up a PM conversation and chat about the car.

Then that would be your tani might not hitting the revs at the end of the straight. Putting weight in the front creates understeer in the car. The Ford has a massive oversteer issue so putting weight in the front neutralizes that then from there you can work on setting up the car to handle better. I can send you my base set up for the car that I used for grand valley, suzuka and other technical track if you like.

I am following your discussion with interest as the Ford is very similar to the Audi :)

My short report:

Qualif: 9th
After getting to know the car for 3 hours yesterday before the race I realized the Audi is a very interesting car, will take some time to get the most of it and more difficult be consistent. For example, the Lexus I drove last season was a beauty to drive, no under or oversteer, perfectly balanced but a tad slower. To sum up, I knew I don't have the pace at least for Motegi.

Sprint: 7th
Pretty fun, had a nice cat and mouse game with both Hondas and ended up between them at the finish.

Endurance: 9th
Race started very well as I managed to pass some drivers during the 1st lap mess and was running 5th. After that it was just a battle against the clock to hold the faster cars behind me. Did that for round 10 laps and then got to my "real" position at 9th. After that it was a boring race except the last 3-4 laps when I was in danger of being lapped for the first time in my life. @RacingLine was catching me like crazy (on the RM I guess) but I was lucky as he needed just one more lap to do the job.

I am very happy and positive about the series, keep up the good work dear organisers (and maybe add some hp back to my Audi ). About the live commentaries, yes, could be better but hey, who thought we would become stars :).

See you in Austria

Sure, shoot me what you used at Suzuka since that's a track I know well.
Just my opinion on tuning. Moving weight to the front will help with the oversteer but it will make the car a lot slower. If you work with the tune enough and don't move weight forward you will be much faster and have more rear end grip on acceleration. You can make the rear end very soft so you get the most grip out of the rear. I also wouldn't go too crazy high with rear downforce because you will also lose a lot of time. Stiffer front springs will help. Lower front extension and higher rear compression. Playing with front compression will help with the glowing outside tire. I usually don't make my rear roll bar much softer than the front but some cars need it. Ride heights that are the same front to rear seem to work best for me. Absolutely never ever run camber no matter what.

You just described my tune with the NSX and I have to agree what he's saying is true 👍

A Good lap around RBR would be in the 28s, 15 minuters of tuning and practice on my part. 27s might be possible with full fuel and perfected setup

Pretty much last seasons times

Hey Leoni I won't be able to get mine in:(.

On other news Staff is working hard on re-adjusting specs, we will hopefully have them released somewhat soon. A drivers brief should be ready by that time as well.

Let's make this a great Round 1!

No problem man, I want to have at least 1 data of each car. It'll be enough for now

Are you talking about RH ?
Pole position time in S2 was 1'29'1 (RH) and best lap was 1'27'xxx (RM)

My best time with RH is 1'29'3
