[ORA] FIA GT World Championship [S3] | TRL_Evo and Ramalhinho are your PRO and AM Champions!Finished

Overall AM was a good night, few wrecks but ended out well for everyone! Well done guys and can't Belive ORA madeGTplanet history! Well done to all the racers here, and a big thanks to @CodDemon101 For the set up this series and to @Litchi who runs the show from behind the scenes! Bring on round 3! Suzuka!
It was a 1:18 set by @RacingLine.

Well aside from a couple dramas I had happen in the Enduring, AM was a great round this weekend!! So glad there weren't any room dramas, acceptable punctuation on time imo. Congrats to @Ramalhinho91 on both races, keeping that Nissan game strong! All AM drivers please remember to submit incidents.

Keennnn to see the PRO race!
What was fastest lap in Pro Enduro? Just curious to see how much quicker the Pros were compared to AM

Brief AM race report from my PoV: Quali went ok, Sprint I got tapped at the back in Lap 1, so had to drive with RL damage (3rd), Enduro I messed up at the corkscrew and had to battle back through the field after 3 pitstops (6th). Overall it was a case of what might have been, but doesn't take anything away from a great performance by @Ramalhinho91 who deserved to win both.

Looking forward to Suzuka (and less drama)!

Thanks a lot guys :) I never thought it will be so good this time. I knew that the GT-R will be difficult to handle around this track due to fast front tyres wear.
I think the Q went better than I expected, you can look at the times and look at the first 4 or 5 cars, so close!
I had a great battle with @j1Nk for P2 and I feel sorry for TWR_Morgan 'cause he could have won the Sprint race, but this is racing and anything could happen on track. Some people are more experienced and cop well with traffic, others don't... It's part of motorsport.
For the Endurance I decided to run the entire race with RH, the tyre wear was quite big so I abandoned the idea of going fast.

Yeah man. We were battling for 2nd when you lost it in the corkscrew. I didn't really have anywhere to go, but somehow managed to get out of there. I think you bumped me on the Sprint because of the contact you endured, only because I had to check up for a Nissan going through 4 because the Audi seemed to be faster through there. Anyway, overall it was a great weekend and I thank ORA for their great cooperation and organization.

Paranormal activities on ORA AM races?!?

As you all know,we can not all be Fernandos,Michaels,Kimis or Juan Pablos..there allways got to be some Takuma Satos or Tiago Monteiros on back lines of grid...so i am the one who is not that fast as some guys are (congratulations to @Ramalhinho91 again,he was working very hard over last week practicing at Laguna seca)...but i like to race i really like everything about the race; from pre-race nervousness to tricky avoiding track mess :) i like (would like to) be compettitive but most of all i allways want to be fair driver and allways respect the rule of blue flag when overlapped ,etc.
My Laguna seca race:

Q - i was 15th, one little mistake on fast lap and lost some time.

SPRINT - I did not go neither up nor down with position from quali

now the interesting part:

ENDURANCE - my pre race strategy was to be consistent to had a steady pace, to avoid all tricky situations, try to be not overlaped was my goal.and i was pretty into my plan. after 23laps i was on P9 and with fresh tires, having my own race in the middle...after some laps i saw @Pubs16 in rear mirror getting closer..and than , in lap 34 paranormal activities! while approaching to corkscrew me and @Pubs16 suddenlly from nowhere as thunder from clear skies, something blue/yellow hits me in flank so so strong than my car was flying to barrier and i got 100% damage! it was Audi R8 from @JakeKing39 .but that was a ghost! ;) he was half of the lap in front of me in that moment. than i lost my position ,also lost concetration because i didnt know if i am going to cry or smile :)
@Pubs16 did you see that paranormal incident? you were just second behind me??
@Litchi shall we call ghostbusters?? ;)

Um holy Dooley! I did not see that Audi at all! At first read I thought you meant it was me, then realised you said a ghost car Audi.

At that point in the race I was holding behind you a little to see what you were doing, pace etc, wasn't sure if you had pitted. Coming into the corkscrew lap 34, braking a couple car lengths behind you next minute you just fire off into the barrier as fast as you say. I was worried it may have been a lag on my count and was actually closer than it would have seemed from my pov. But definitely didn't see any Audi lol. A shame man, sorry that happened.

Don't know how people can call it a good race Tbh. When one person wipes out half the pack on the first lap, that's anything but good. I lost interest right there.

Same with endurance, got wiped out by a laggy Audi. And again lost all interest and concentration.

Happens in racing sometimes mate, there was lag issues again the week but nothing can be done about that:/ any incidents that you think are worth a look, get youre incident reports in. stewards will do there best, you have to respect they have alot to do to prepare for the flowing race:) everyone in am is a good driver, but everyone has mistakes, and lag can't be helped sometimes:/ good racing this weekend! look forward to battle on suzuka;)

Last night was interesting, results weren't too bad either.

Pre-Event:
The car already felt good at Red Bull Ring so I didn't have to change much for Laguna.
I made a few minor setup changes to dial out some mid corner understeer and left it at that.

I'm still getting excess heat on the front tyres but having had similar issues in other cars I think it's a side effect of ym driving style; I like a car that turns in sharply.

Qualifying:
Nothing much to talk about here; I ran close to what I did in practice and it put me in the lower midfield.

11th (+1.182)

Sprint:
I got a somewhat decent start and held position, but when approaching the Corkscrew there was a big pileup ahead.
I tried to find a spot to go through that wouldn't cause me trouble but clipped one of the stationary cars and took front damage.

Pitted on Lap 2 and put on RMs. For the rest of the race I ran around in P9, making a spot late on after @James Cooper spun out.
Not sure where I'd have finished were it not for the Lap 1 incident, but at least I minimised the damage it did to my result.

8th

Endurance:
I had a strong start to this one, making 3 places on the first lap.
That put me in the lead pack, where I followed @Brutaka closely, making a spot when @yuc2002 spun off the Corkscrew.

After following @Brutaka for 10 minutes I realised I wasn't going to pass him on-track so I decided to take a risk with the tyres and pitted for RM with 40 minutes left.
The next 20 minutes saw me run in relatively clean air (only dealing with alpped traffic) and once he pitted I was several seconds ahead.

When the shuffle ended I was in P2, far ahead of those behind.
However, with 10 minutes left the tyres started to go off and I began to lose time.

@RodeRuner1967 caught up quickly and I defended hard, but ultimately I didn't have the grip to keep him behind and conceded P2.
When @JakeKing39 caught up I had nothing left to fight with and he got by easily, dropping me out of the podium.

I believe Evo ran a 1:19.934 for the fastest lap followed by 1.20's and up from there.

Special thanks to @TeamEdge702 (pfeffer) for knocking down (on purpose! ?) 2 out of 3 brake marker signs at turn 4 (lefthander) thus me paying visit to the gravel.

This is why you need a second, static reference point for a corner. The Andretti Hairpin is one that can catch people out if the #2 board is gone, but if you have a second reference or can judge based on how far past the #3 board you are, you're fine.

Intentionally taking out markerboards is unsportsmanlike, but in a 20+ minute race most of the boards will get hit eventually.

Round 2
Summary:
I am, honestly, very proud of most of you guys. I know, of course, there were a few crashes, lag, and a pile up even, but I could tell you guys tried y'all best to stay clean and be competitive. I want to tell you guys thank you for making this such an interesting race week as I was kinda down because of family issues.

Qualifying: Made a mistake and couldn't get into the 23's. Qualified 10th.
Sprint: Very good running for me, I made up a lot of positions du to the pile up. I just couldn't catch @yuc2002, Finished 4th.
Endurance: I was set to make a podium finish, unfortunately I got into an accident near the end of the race. 8th.

Future: Suzuka starts the Endurance Cup, the real championship I have hopes for, I want you guys to be even more competitive than you were at Laguna Seca, and if we iron out the issues we had there, we can show out with a pro-level performance!

Yeah, u are right, was under pressure and didn't see it was missing. My mistake anyway. Btw, the commentators have really high expectations for me, I am currently mid-pack racer hitting three 9th places in qualifications in a row .

I want to report something on my part. On lap 3, 5 and 28 I think I cut turn 5 and the corkscrew. One corner in each of this laps. I don't remember exactly the order but I had the notion that I cut the corners. I was not trying to gain advantage I was just suffering from lag and missed the apex. At the corkscrew simply missed the braking point lol
Just in case some people watch the replay and see me do that and think the wrong way ;)

Wish a good week for everyone

For all you in the amateur room. Have been thinking about doing some kind of broadcast for you guys but it would have to be done on your sprint races that way you could save the replay so I can get ahold of. We could do a race rewind sort of, the keen thing about this is you could have more people commenting on the race if wanted because all could be following because each could be watching the replay themselves using the skype feed as just a reference to what action was being shown at the moment. Let me know if anyone is interested and if your up for commentary role.

We (the stewards of AM) have the replays saved. RBR however, we had technically difficulties. My replay for the RBR sprint race is glitched where the drivers are invisible. I have both the sprint and endurance for Laguna.

Steward AM Race report
Round 2
Summary:
Was a massive improvement on everybody from RBR, everybody was obviously keen to race and we actually were on time because of everybody's cooperation. Aside a couple big incidents all went well and was surprisingly very clean racing for Laguna for the most part :).

Qualifying: 12th - Stuffed up my 2nd lap almost getting a low 23, but knew I'd never have a fast qualifying car. Was just weary of first lap down in the pack.
Sprint: 5th - Good standing start, got a bit of a gap over everybody behind me on the run into the first corner. Trying to hang onto the rear of @Brutaka and @PJTierney for the first lap, all the cufuffle begins out of T6 running upto the corkscrew, two BMW's off the wall due to @RodeRuner1967 losing it across the track, narrowly being the last driver to squeeze through the wreck. Come out of the Corkscrew in 7th behind Brutaka.
Was tuff to hang on with him pulling half a second a lap on me, couple mishaps for upper drivers had me in 5th with 10mins to go. @JakeKing39 beginning to hustle right down on me 2-3 seconds a lap, setting the fastest time of the race doing so. But still a fair way back by a couple laps to go so could relax. Stoked with my gains, wanted to bag some points in this round.

Endurance: 9th - I was sure I could back another top 5 at least, the top 3 were just too fast for me but I could last majority of the race on my first stint and have good RM's for the closing 20-15mins.
Unfortunately had a very aggressive @llmorganll on the first lap, turn 3 comes screaming up the inside as I'm held up by two NSX's running wide a little, Morgan taps my right corner making me slide before hitting me side on again, spinning into the wall and dirt and comes back across track tagging my right rear again causing damage.
Car still quite stable running upto the Corkscrew losing 1 spot to @PJTierney, @SSJGZWarrior losing it slightly in the dirt under braking, goes left to avoid me bumping still, holding line fine but failed to see he was still coming across the apex back onto the racing line with no grip for stopping. Tags my left rear spinning me backwards down the corkscrew, @RodeRuner1967 having nowhere to go bumps noses with me as I roll off track avoiding everybody else.
Rejoin 14th chasing @SSJGZWarrior and @bcd73, @llmorganll catches me again after pitting for damages. Gets up the inside into T1, side by side running to T2 Morgan rams into the left of me, stays side by side, Morgan running wide onto the apex and switching back underneath me for T3, diving up the inside of the corner on the grass before hitting me at the apex off to the left in the dirt, right front damage. Quite aggressive dude, no need for that at all.
Pit for a 2nd time, head down to run to the end, some good battling with @BAZZER both making mistakes a bit and swapping positions, in the end getting a tap from him into the Corkscrew, giving left rear damage, @BAZZER gets caught up in lapping leaders behind and I pull away. Deciding not to pit with 20mins to go I press on to catch @bcd73 not far ahead. Kept with him nicely and was looking for safe place to pass, 9mins to go @bcd73 Gets hit by a ghost car right in front of me into Corkscrew. Move upto 9th with no chance of catching Brutaka 35 seconds ahead, held on to the end.

Future: I managed to scrounge together some points to put onto a lame Round 1, ideally wanted a little higher but made a bad day good in the end I guess considering.
Can't wait for Suzuka, I think I do alright there and the Nissan should be easily back on song there. Im hoping to move forward in gaining more points, hopefully my first podium in GTWC, should start a good momentum going into the mid-season! :).
