I haven't done testing for long enough for my tires to go under 8 :nervous:. Roughly what state are they in my mid-race distance?

Is there any spots left for the Saturday championship? I would like to do this series but I have night classes on Tuesday.

We are full for both days but if you want to complete the registration form I will put you on the list as a reserve. 👍
Yep, I'm up North in Belfast! They say there may be snow tonight.

Heavens! Are they shutting down the country??

I'll be there.

After 13 consecutive laps, my right rear was down to 5 or 6. The rears wear out quicker, for me at least. The front left was still in pretty good shape at 8 I think.

I normally get that problem with high powered things using a pad, it's easy to spin those rears up - and the problem only compounds itself with more wear! I'm going to have to short shift and tip-toe this evening I think.

If the tire wear proves to be too extreme I will change the wear rate to Normal and turn on the mandatory pitstop setting. I didn't notice any real issues with tire wear during my testing but I don't want people spinning out on crap tires or having to make a second stop.

I don't think it gets anywhere near that bad. With a wheel the cars are still drivable, just need to be a little more careful compared with fresh tires running. I can't say what happens to drivability with a pad though.

That's what I was going for, a noticeable difference in tires from the beginning of the stint to the end of the stint. And per the tire wear bug, I haven't noticed any real difference on the second set of tires like so many people report (probably because we're not on racing compounds).

Ill be attending tonight. Might not make it into the room until 745-750ish. Im running the gt2 base model. I only ran 5 laps but managed a high 1.49. What times are you guys putting down?

For what it's worth I'm fairly consistent at those times on an online lobby. I managed a 1:47.966 the other week but tire wear wasn't on and there's no way I'll be replicating that again without a huge amount of luck.

and after all that I may not be able to attend today, If my profile is online then I will be there, If my profile isn't then unfortunately I'm elsewhere, I will be there for round 2 and 3 for sure,

Avoid wheelspin and tire will last. Might be easier said than done for pad users. Also, a bit for forward BB will help preserve tires.
I should be in the room by 8pm.

You're in. 👍

The room is open for practice. Qualifying will start about 8:05 and the race will follow.

Reminder: We are doing 1 parade lap because standing starts on the banking are sketchy. Hold your position and drive around the track at ~80mph/128kph, the race will go green for everyone when the leaders cross the start finish line.

Also, when exiting the pits please use the access road on your left that re-enters the track after the turn 1-2 complex. DO NOT re-enter directly into turn 1.

Be careful and be patient, it's a long race and there's plenty of draft to help you make a planned and safe move. Good luck!

:gtpflag:

Good racing tonight guys. I swear the bus stop chicane will be the death of me. Feel free to give me any feedback regarding the race, time change, tire wear, etc.

Congrats to Sagarismic

Damn good fun! Apologies about my useless braking point matching and subsequent punt on dsgerbc, I think I should probably qualify for a time penalty on that one.

Meh, don't sweat it. I was slow for some reason anyway, couldn't put together a sub-49 lap other than one fluke of a qualifying lap.

I hate to complain after winning, but after the pit spot, the grip of my tires was not the same. I had to brake a hair earlier and I could not get onto the power as early as before. Before the stop I was doing easy 48s and then 49s later in the stint, without even pushing much, but after the stop, with less fuel, I was doing mostly 50s with a best of 49.8. I admit I was driving with more margin as I could only lose the race at that point, but not to the tune of nearly 2 seconds. Lucky for me I had a pretty big lead at that point, but in a closer race, this "glitch" could have been costly.

Anyway, good race everybody. Tire glitch aside, everything seemed to have gone well and the time change looked great. The lack of light at the infield kink caused my only small off of the race, but otherwise the track was well lit at night.

Well done fellas, sounds like a good night:tup: That's a known bug with GT6 @SagarisGTB did anyone else have the same issue?

This "glitch" affects everyone, I have yet to do a really long run in these cars so im unsure how noticeable it is here

We have discovered a way the kind of cancel's out the glitch which is that everyone pits at the start of the race, it doesn't cancel it out but it just means everyone is one the same playing field,

As everyone is affected by this glitch the playing field is level anyway. Although, it did influence my thinking when it came to pitstop time. I was a few seconds behind dsgerbc and T-n-T-2000 and I decided not to pit until a lap later than them to see if it would make a difference.

I never got to find out though, when I entered the pit at the end of lap 14 there was some sort of glitch and the screen went black for an instant and I found myself up on the grass! Then the pit control took over and rather than automatically stopping for fuel and tyres I ended up being driven straight through and emerged with my tyres in the same worn state. Luckily, I had enough fuel to complete another lap but I went off at the first turn after the pit exit.

Eventually, I managed to make it to the pits a second time and thankfully there was no drama this time. Despite all these delays I see I was "only" less than 40 seconds behind 4th placed dsgerbc in the end so I might have finished a bit higher if the 1st stop went as planned.

Either way, it was an enjoyable race and congrats to Sagarismic and everyone at the pointy end.

1:47.922 for pole? :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
And there's me as pleased as punch if I can get one lap in 10 in the 1:52's
Amazing.

Edit: And much kudos to @turnupdaheat for still being awake at 1am on a Tuesday!

Yeah, some very quick guys there. I did manage to break into the 1:49s during previous practice sessions but not regularly and it's consistancy that really counts.

I am a bit of a night owl so the 1am start isn't too bad although it did look like I fell asleep a couple of times!

It was the same time for MC-Chase of course.
