Ok guys, sorry but a little heavy reading coming up.
I have looked over all the issues we have had regarding race incidents, disconnections etc.
Due to the varying aspects and difficulty of some, it has been hard to find a perfect outcome that would suit everybody. The ORDL rules section has been updated and I am still open to adding or maybe amending anything that would benefit the league.
Easy kindly offered some information that I thought should be included and I have added other information as required.
ALL feedback the admin team receive is considered and I am sure the updates will benefit everybody involved.
So, here are is the new rules section taken directly from our website:
ORDL General Rules:
Disruptive or abusive members will be removed from the league and will not be entitled to re-apply.
Members who register for an event but do not attend a race will be given a non attendance and no points will be given.
Please remember that a no show will penalize your team mate in such events and may reduce the chance of winning the team championship title.
Race Event:
Qualifying session (Where applicable) starts when all members who are confirmed for that event are present in the lobby.
DRIVERS MUST REMAIN IN PRE GAME LOBBY UNTIL ALL DRIVERS ARE PRESENT.
A message stating qualifying open will then be sent via the lobby chat service. Drivers can then post as many fast laps as possible within that time frame. Please ensure that if a driver is on a quick lap that you do not interfere and allow the car to pass without causing the driver to slow down.
Once the qualifying period is over the race start countdown will be initiated and will then proceed to the main event. A bonus point is awarded to the driver who qualifies in pole position.
Racing Incidents:
It is the responsibility of the car returning to the track to ensure there are no collisions so that no other drivers have to slow down. If there's a chance of a collision, wait and be patient as other drivers have the right of way.
If you are responsible for an incident, you must stop at a safe place immediately and allow the innocent driver to pass freely to re-establish ahead of your position.
The ORDL admin team will assess an incident if the driver disadvantaged makes a complaint. This must be done via our website Incident Report Form and must be done within 24 hours of a race incident. The admin team will then view the race replay and contact the drivers involved with a decision.
3 point penalty per incident, up to a maximum of 3 incidents per race (9 point total deduction). If a driver causes an incident that is deemed to be worth more than a 3 point deduction then he may be given a single penalty of 6 points, with a further infringement adding the other 3 to the total of 9. An extreme incident, or pure cheating may/will result in disqualification. The admin team will then assess whether the driver in question shall remain part of the ORDL.
Example:
If you finish in 2nd place, are awarded 15 points and are then found guilty of race incidents you could find yourself with maximum penalty imposed and score just 6 points (15-9). If an incident is deemed so severe you may be disqualified and score 0 points.
Drivers cannot get a minus score. If you finish a race with 5 points and have the maximum penalty of 9 points incurred then you will finish on 0 points for that round.
Pit Stops:
Some events will also require a pit stop or pit stops to be made during the race. Please ensure that these pit stops are undertaken. Failure to make a stop will result in disqualification from that race and no points will be scored.
Disconnections:
If a single driver has a connection problem / game error at the start (disconnection or black screen etc) they must try to make his way back to the lobby and send a 'restart' massage on the in game chat service within 5 minutes of the race start. The admin member hosting the race will then restart the race using a random grid. Only 1 restart per race, if multiple members are having problems and they can all return to the lobby within the 5 minutes then they will be included in the restart.
If after a race has been restarted, any drivers that are disconnected will be given points depending on how many drivers are racing. Disconnected drivers will be given points for last place, in order of disconnection based on race distance completed. If more than 10 drivers are present, any drivers who disconnects and are out of points placement will receive 0 points.
For example;
11 members attend a 10 lap race
3 drivers disconnect, driver A on lap 6, driver B on lap 7 and driver C on lap 9.
Driver C will be given points for 9th place, driver B will be given points for 10th place and driver A will receive 0 points.
This system also relies on drivers not faking disconnection and rage quitting. Any driver found to be doing so may be removed from the ORDL.
Ghost Cars/Cars Not Visible:
You may only drive through a car that is transparent if it is a lap down, on penalties or recovering from an off. You must not drive through to pass a car you are battling with.
There may be instances where a driver cannot see all cars taking part or they are not indicated by race screen information. Before a race starts it is the duty of each participant to make a mental note of how many other drivers should be in the race. If a drivers suspects that not all cars are visible to them, then please take the following action if possible:
Post an in game chat message simply stating "Fault" - you may lost time and positions while doing this.
AND / OR -
Post as soon as possible after the race in our GT Planet thread.
This enables the admin team to see that you will race as normal but there may be an instance involving an invisible car.
These issues arise due to aspects beyond our control and the admin team will look at each case individually. It is difficult for the admin team to find a more suitable way to handle these incidents.
Racing/Overtaking/Defending:
2 wheels on track at all times. The track is defined as the tarmac between the white lines. Kerbs are not strictly part of track and again may be mounted by 2 wheels only. If you gain a place or defended a place by cutting the track, you must give up that place and allow the car behind to pass you.
GT Planet Online Rules And Guidance:
Where applicable please adhere to the guide that can be found here:
Online Rules and Guidance
Remember that a lot of the rules depend on members reporting incidents or infringements and that the admin team cannot see everything that happens during a race.
You may have noticed there has been a slight change as to how to report an incident. We have a new form on our website that must be completed within the same 24hr period as previously required, it can be found via the homepage or
HERE. Feel free to also drop a PM to the relevant admin team member to ensure that we know you have submitted a report.
Sorry for the long post but this needs to be here for everyone to read and understand.
Please contact me via PM if there is anything you wish to discuss in private.
