ADMIN:

The admin team have tonight had a productive, long meeting about several issues.

Ed will post to update regarding the Enduro Series.

Not a lot is to be changed but some ideas have been drafted and will be put into place over the next few days or so. Notice of these changes will be given in due course.

We appreciate the feedback we get from members so please continue to do so, we want this league to become your racing home and something you feel a part of. We want to build a community within our thread here at GT Planet and also via our website and lobby rooms.

ORDL RACING TEAM:

The ORDL Racing Team, members who have been chosen to represent the league should have a PM landing any minute now. Please check inboxes guys.

I can tell you that our 2 reserve drivers are Itzza and Edwardovic and a full list will be posted once every member confirms their selection.

I will be working to produce our first ORDL Racing event very soon and well done to those chosen.

Hi all. After the admin meeting last night we have come to the sad decision, that enduro events will be a future event. Proberly with the launch of gt6.

So all in all we are going to drive La sarthe 20 laps race, if people are up for it, we wont be meni drivers for but we the admins feel that you guys should decide if we race or not. Personally i am fine by racing it with those guys who are left in the cup.

Other than that we have sorted some things out such as instead of we make 16 player lounges we will now be making 12 player lounges, this is done for better lounge connections, since gt5 is quit unstable with more than 12 players ingame. We have allso been talking about some of the issues with consistency in driverlist, we will in the future be doing some trials for new drivers, format is not sure atm. All will be posted as we sort things out.

Well done ! I appreciate that some of my advices are kept on, keepup with the good work. Also i am a little confused about the postponed and the late hour of the races, mabe these issues will olso be solved in a convenient mode for all keeping in mind the time difference of our countries.

That is a sad decision about the enduro event, when is GT6 coming out?

I can run La sarthe 20 laps race, but not this Sunday, next Sunday or the one after are ok for me.

12 player is about the best number on track, however there are always some players can't made a race, if I remember correctly, we rarely had more then 12 cars on the track in the last few weeks. Having 14 players sign up (and 2 reserves) at the beginning of a event is not so bad.

As for new drivers trials, we can run 2 or 3 pre-season races, any new drivers must take part and demonstrate he or she is a clean driver. In the event of enduro, the new driver can get use to the rules and 1 hour long race before committing to the event.

Hey guys, so here is the full admin update explained;

New Registration Process

After registering with the ORDL on the website you will be PMed by a member of the admin team. It will be arranged for new members to join us at one of our open lobby evenings for us to speak to and get to know.

More on open lobbies a little later.

The new members will then be asked to attend either an event race as a guest or another open lobby if we think reliability may be an issue.

Once happy with a new member, they will be added to our Registered Drivers List (RDL) and will be eligible to register for events.

This vetting process saves the admin team work adding and removing names from templates and saves our members the dissapointment of drivers not attending.

Members are also encouraged to post in our thread and show that wish to be part of the ORDL community.

TT Series

Our new TT Series is a weekly hosted lobby where a track is chosen by vote to run Time Trials. The website gives a full track list and the vehicle chosen for that track. Vehicles must be stock with RM tyres only, no other modifications will be allowed.

Each week the lobby will be set to free run mode for an hour, or however long the admin host chooses. The fastest driver when the lobby closes will then have his/her time recorded from on screen and entered into our website track list.

We feel that this event will add competition and banter between our members. Also it will not require members to register for the event, its a turn up and drive Series. We feel this freedom will benefit our league.

Full regulations are to be added to the website so all members are familiar with the rules. The TT Series will be updated when GT6 is released to take into account the new tracks and some vehicles may be changed.

Enduro Removal

Ed has posted regarding Enduro already. Members will need to decide with him regarding running Sarthe. After which the Enduro Series will be removed.

Future Enduro Events will be run under the Race Series and some adjustments to races will be made after the feedback we have had from members.

Race distance and members attendance were the key elements that were brought up in members concerns and should be dealt with having a new registration process.

15 Minute Pre Check / Event Times

Due to connection issues, a 15 minute Pre Qualification period will enable us to ensure any issues with lobby stability are found. If it is apparent that a race cannot be held it will be postponed and rearrangment notice given on the thread.

It is advised that member proceed to track, complete 3 SLOW formation laps and take a place on the grid. Once all cars have placed on the grid a visual check should be made so that all drivers are visible from your car. Any problems can be highlighted via lobby message function.

Once happy the usual QUAL OPEN message will be sent.

Under NO circumstances should this period be used as extra qualifying time. any members found to be doing so will be removed from the race and warned.

Future event to be held will stat at 20:45 to accomodate an ealier finish.

Lobby / Events will be reduced in size to 12 as this may help some connection issues.

ORDL Racing Team

Some members that have been chosen to represent the ORDL have confirmed their place in the team. I am still awaiting replies from others and a second PM will be sent later in the week to remind them. If they do not reply then other members will be approached to join the team.

Im currently working on an event and will then contact other teams/leagues to arrange races.

More information will be posted on our website in due course.

Open Nights / Calendar

Our calendar will be revised in the near future with more information and open nights listed.

Admin meetings are to be held every 2 weeks with any relevant issues discussed.

We are currently approaching the transitional period to GT6. Events will be held up until the release and then transferred to the new title.

Once transferred our events will take a more uniform approach with Open rooms, Admin meeting and our Series Events taking place on certain week nights. For example, Open Lounge may be every Tuesday, Race Series Every Thursday etc.

There may be some occasions that races may be +/- 1-2 days due to work commitments but the calendar will always be the place to check when races are to be held.



So thats the main issues that are being dealt with. As im between work shifts, some information still requires updating - Templates, rules, RDL etc Other minor changes will be made but are mainly behind the scenes stuff.

These change will be made and members notified via the thread.

As you may have noticed the website is also undergoing some minor changes, the calendar will start to play a larger part in our events and we urge memers to start checking it more often. Again il post when calendar changes are implemented.

Dont forget that our calendar is also available to display/sync on you iphone/android etc. I will post a how to on the calendar page soon.

INFO TO ALL DRIVERS WHO LIKE LONG DISTANCE RACE​

The 1. july. I will be holding an 300 km. race at Autodromo Nationale Monza Circuit. Drivers who wanna participate, leave a pm. There are no prices in this event, it is only for fun and so people can drive some more against each other.

Here comes the specifications for the race.

Track: Monza
Car: Road car (any)
PPlimit: 550
Tuning: allowed
Tyres: Racing Medium
laps: 50
Pitstop: 2 (mandatory)

The lounge setup will be as it is in the current Ferrari F430 event.

The race will only be raced if i get atleast 10 drivers signing up for it. Remember this is a fun event i am holding. Only because i like long distance races, and now when enduro is done i needed to do something hehe.
