Cheers hatfield after my pitstop you sketched me out sector 1 when u lost it appared you were on track had to slow right down we managed to aviod each other. Besides that i ended up spinning out due to lapping vendal and him turning on me no idea if he knew was there. Nearly lost it previous to that catching vend taital saw massive lag spike from taital threw me off as didn't wanna get damage but he jumped forward so easily tell lag.

Jas and me had a great battle for 20 laps i missed afew apexs while watching my rearview mirrow under intense pressure the biggest gap i could get was 6tenths but draft keep him coming as he was driving just as consistant as myself good stuff mate.. shame about that hatfield you were catching me crazy wrn i pitted for hards think you may have closed the gap to 1-2 sec behind me.

Been a long time since I've won a race so i was very pleased with myself.

First to post .. got 2013 Academy ... do the first race in reverse ... its more of a challenge

Well if I wasn't happy with my driving . . . seeing that I'm 3 seconds off the pace = Hmmm.

Got a load of work to do. Car doesn't suit my driving style.

All i can say is to be smooth with the car. Don't force it around the track otherwise the back starts sliding everywhere. Give minimal steering inputs and be gentle on the throttle. A nice roll on roll off method for the brake and throttle works wonders in this car.

Also pick out those braking points around each track. Watch when other drivers brake during qualifying. Keep trying to move your braking points further forward until it starts understeering. Be mindful of the downshift from 3rd to 2nd as it unsettles the rear end.

Team 3 could be Team Taital Redcall (play on total recall).
Team 5 could be MkMoon Racing (use a different colour mcdonalds logo)
Team 2 could be Prickly Pear Racing (coz cactass...) or Jonass Brothers Racing

That's what i found smooth slow steering and brake accell modulation was the key to the car and seeing its slow not to brake to much to loose mid corner speed even rolling through corner helps and can hit gas quick my brake bias is 6 3 if help at all might do. Helps the rear not so slidy

Cool we can still put times down on the gt academy just started practice 1 currently ranked 34th half a tenth and ill be in the top 10. Havent done anymore than the first practice first sector liking the track tho...loving the new psyhics can see and feel the weight shift awsome. Loving the new graphics layout bring on gt6!!

the graphics are great, tho I was starting to feel sea sick in the leaf! lol

I agree, roll on GT6 :)

Had a quick go at the academy. The body roll and weight transfer feels great. Shame we couldn't test the tyres wear and effect on handling. The GUI is responsive and quick. Can't wait for GT6.

The body roll on the leaf didn't have that effect on me Velly, i'd probably contribute that to being a motorbike rider from always being lent over in the corners.

Thanks cactass. I pre orded gt6 today 15th aniversary edition. Hoping comes out soon I'm picking end of october.. maybe they will release same date as gt5 good ol guessing game.

As you might remember i advised you all that if i did not have the final teams decided by wednesday then i would be grouping drivers that are not currently in a team together.

Therefore the following drivers are now teamed up.

Team 6 - Jol & Vendal
Team 7 - Rod, Red & Mick

Everyone (except wildcards) should be in a team now. The final teams are.

Hornet Racing - Oni & Jase
Team 2 - Cac & Jon
Team 3 - Mrt & Arie
Team Lostus - lost & hat
Team 5 - Moon & Mik
Team 6 - Jol & Vendal
Team 7 - Rod, Red & Mick

EDIT: Forgot good ol Red. See the update. As Team 7 is 3 drivers only 2 drivers can gain points to the team total. The 2 drivers that score the highest out of the team will have their points go towards the team total.

ORS | SEASON 11 | ROUND 2 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

ORS_S11_R2_zps4a2f6352.jpg

For round 2 we head to the mountain for a 45 lap race around PD's Trial Mountain.

The following ORS Rules apply at all times during qualifying and racing.

- Ripple Strip Rules will come in effect around Trial Mountain. See below image
- Drivers must ensure when entering the pits that they nor their b-spec driver cuts the white lines
- Drivers must stay inside pit exit line when exiting pits
- Regardless of position when overtaking the car in front has the ownership of the racing line
- Lapped cars must give way to leaders of the race and not become an obstacle
- Ramming not tolerated
- Foul language not tolerated
- Please keep text comments to a minimum while qualifying sessions are underway
- Text chat can only be used by stewards during a race

ORS_RippleRule_zps5b8200cd.jpg

As you may be aware Trial Mountain's track edge lines (white lines) are quite far away from the apex if a corner. Therefore for round 2 the Ripple Strip Ruling will come in effect. See above image for what is considered acceptable and what is not. There are also corners around Trial Mountain that has yellow lined areas (break down zones), you are permitted to use these zones during qualifying and the race.

If you are found to be cutting corners or running wide consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, grid penalties, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS Season 11. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

A full list of penalties and the points that will be applied to a driver for each penalty can be found by clicking the banner below.

If you do have an off be wary of the reduced grip level once you've rejoined the track. Also when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

All drivers must ensure they have set their cars to their Tiers required specifications (see page 1) for the race. Failure to comply can results in disqualification from the race to removal from the series.

Once scrutineering has started you are prohibited from entering the tuning screen. Failure to comply will result in an immediate -15 point penalty each time you enter the tuning screen. Failing after qualifying/race scrutineering will incur a -25 point penalty. So ensure your car's engine has been ran in to avoid a penalty.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 12pm (Sydney time) on Sunday. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it. If you fail to nominate a tyre by the deadline you will qualify and start the race on Sports Hards.

Regards,

Oni

ORS | SEASON 11 | STEWARDS REPORT | ROUND 1

ORS_S11_R1_Fastest_Lap_zps7252467d.png

Cactass's lap of 1.34.122 on L34 is legal and stands as the fastest lap of the race - nice lap Cac 👍

You’ll notice that in Oni’s pre-race briefing that we now have a list of penalties and the points that will be applied to drivers for commonly occurring infringements of ORS rules. This list is available in the front page OP of this thread or here.

So why have we done this?

Based on close examination of the rules by the ORS Committee, it was felt for this Season 11 and for all that follow - it was important to standardise some of the point penalties when non adherence to the rules is observed. This will ensure that all drivers are aware of exactly what penalty they will incur. Think of these as standard common laws and, if broken, standard fines will apply – just as you might expect to get from a speeding fine.

As this is a new addition to ORS Season 11 and was not in place prior to Round One, we feel it only fair to grant some concession when applying these penalties for infringements observed in post-race stewards analysis.

Concessions for Round One will be by deduction of 50% of total penalties incurred.

The following drivers will receive the following points deductions:

Vendalism
15.2.2. Changing of tyre compound during the closed pit window rule either at the start or finish of the race: Minus 10 points per lap
Total point penalty incurred for Round One, less 50% concession:
= MINUS 5 Points.

DRZ_Hatfield
15.2.2. Changing of tyre compound during the closed pit window rule either at the start or finish of the race: Minus 10 points per lap (x1)
15.1.3. Deliberate and excessive cutting of the race track proper for the purpose of time advantage: Minus 10 points per infringement (x1)
15.1.1. Using the Comms chat for commentary during race: Minus 5 points per chat post infringement (x2)
15.2.3. Use of more than the allotted sets of tires for any given compound: Minus 10 points per lap (x 3)
Total point penalty incurred for Round One, less 50% concession:
= MINUS 30 points.

Request for Racing Incident Investigation for Round 1
One incident was reported for Round 1 concerning DRZ-Hatfield and Onichan.

Examination of events.
Onichan was commencing his final lap in P4 and approximately 1.9 seconds behind Cactass and closing for a theoretical challenge of position. Meanwhile DRZ-Hatfield was one lap down in P12 on 4 lap old medium (illegal) tires is quickly closing on Onichan in the braking approach to T1. I also note that Jol was on a lap down on L49 and P11 moves over on the main straight to allow Cactass and Oni through but also loses position as a result of a pursuing DRZ-Hatfield.

Hatfield moves out of Oni’s draft and attempts an overtake under brakes to inside of Oni for the turn-in to T1. Oni not expecting this from a driver a lap down takes his normal racing line into T1. Minor contact is made between Hatfield and Oni which in turn causes Oni to run wide into sand trap on the outside of T1. Oni recovers but now has significantly reduced tire grip and is unable to maintain normal race pace. As a result he is unable to negotiate T2 even at reduced speed and slides off onto the grass. Oni recovers a second time and manages to continue and maintain his P4 position despite rapidly closing P5 of JTV. Opportunity for Oni to challenge Cactass is lost as result. At the finish Cactass is now approximately 6 seconds in front of Oni.

Conclusions.
DRZ-Hatfield is issued with a caution for interfering with a car on the lead lap, creating unnecessary risk and potentially altering the outcome of finishing positions.

Put simply, it is incumbent on ALL DRIVERS in this series to use their better judgment to ensure that situations like this do not arise again. This was particularly acute in this instance given there was no foreseeable gain to performing this overtaking maneuver in the closing stages of the race. Moreover because the driver is on an illegal set of tires, this further diminishes any justification for the above mentioned maneuver and putting a fellow drivers finishing position at heightened risk.

Finally, I remind all drivers that if you do make a mistake and affect the potential outcome of the race it is expected that you will take the gentlemanly approach and apologize for any situations which may have occurred after the race has concluded. 👍 This ensures that we are all upholding the spirit of good sportsmanship and respect for fellow competitors that ORS is founded upon. :)

Jas
