Thanks to all (that could make it) for attending tonight's session and congratulations to Jon for an absolute cracker of a lap to take pole!

Good fun to be had afterwards and the five 'lapper' provided just how close it's going to be between everybody.

Thanks to Mr T also for keeping a dual time sheet and to Oni for getting the results up so quickly.

See you at the track!

Race 1 is obviously my 'hards' race. If I can't make it until race 2, does that mean I have to use hards again at some point in race 2 or 3?

Jasr, Awesome photos from last round at Monaco. Really liked the cheesy ad.

Sorry I couldn't make it in time for qualyfing. But based on past performances, chances are I still would have qualified 9th even if I did get my lap in!?

GT5 and PSN network were causing me grief last night. Hopefully I have it all sorted now.

Hats, I'm pretty sure that if you miss race 1on Hards you will need to run them in either races 2 or 3 to comply with the tyre regulations.

Hi everyone,

Once again, if you have any incidents you want reviewed please either let asuka611, jasr73 or myself know by either sending either of us a message on PSN or here.

Thanks.

MrT

Hey Oni,

just to let you know, I won't be competing in the next 2 weeks as I will be away on business.

I will be back from the 2nd of September forward.

If there is a vote for next season, please consider me as a full time driver, please.:)

Cheers and good luck with the next races.

Hey Rod,

Thanks for the heads up. Shame you can't be around for the last 2 rounds to really mix it up. There won't be a vote for the next season as it will be the ORS GT Championship Season 2.

The way the ORS works now is we have a 1 make season then an ORS GT season and repeat. There will be a few new cars added and a few from last season removed. So keep an eye out for the post. ;)

Cheers,
Oni

No worries Oni, when I said vote I meant for a spot on the series and not for the cars. ....so i just wanted to say that i plan to be full time for next season. ..If that is okay, of course

You're such a pleasure to race against Rod as I know if you're behind me that I have a fight on my hands.

Thanks Mr T! :)

it is a pleasure racing with you guys...it is not everyday that you find people to have close, clean and fair racing and that is what I love about racing.

ORS | SEASON 11 | ROUND 7 | PRE RACE BRIEFING

ORS_S11_R7_zps87e9792b.jpg

For round 7 we head to the good ol United States of America for a 45 lap race around Laguna Seca.

The following ORS Rules apply at all times during qualifying and racing.

- 2 wheels must stay inside the white line.
- Drivers must ensure when entering the pits that they nor their b-spec driver cuts the white lines
- Drivers must stay inside pit exit line when exiting pits
- Regardless of position when overtaking the car in front has the ownership of the racing line
- Lapped cars must give way to leaders of the race and not become an obstacle
- Ramming not tolerated
- Foul language not tolerated
- Please keep text comments to a minimum while qualifying sessions are underway
- Text chat can only be used by stewards during a race

Be careful when entering the pits. Entering to fast or to shallow can see you getting reset and doing a drive through or getting stuck your B-Spec stuck on the pit wall. I recommended everyone practice their pit entry.

If you are found to be cutting corners or running wide consistently or frequently then you will be penalised by the stewards. Penalties can range from point deductions, grid penalties, 1 race bans and up to disqualifications from the entire ORS Season 11. Ensure you have read all the rules in the opening post (page 1).

A full list of penalties and the points that will be applied to a driver for each penalty can be found by clicking the banner below.

If you do have an off be wary of the reduced grip level once you've rejoined the track. Also when rejoining, please aware of your position on the track relative to your fellow races. Drivers rejoining the track must give way to race traffic and not become an obstruction.

All drivers must ensure they have set their cars to their Tiers required specifications (see page 1) for the race. Failure to comply can results in disqualification from the race to removal from the series.

Now finally all drivers must make sure they submit their tyre choice for qualifying/race start by 12pm (Sydney time) Sunday. Once your tyre choice has been submitted you cannot change it. If you fail to nominate a tyre by the deadline you will qualify and start the race on Sports Hards.

Oni

Hey guys,

Unfortunately I cannot make tonight's qualifying or tomorrow nights race as a bout of flu has gone through work and I can't find anyone to cover so I now have to work the next 2 nights.

Was looking forward to it as I'm only 38 points behind and Laguna being one of my fav tracks.

Good luck to everyone

Cheers
Mick

Obviously extremely happy to finally win my first ORS race!

Started off well passing the pack to catch the Hornet boys and then overtaking them too. Probably went too long on the first tire set, going 20 laps when the Hornet boys pitted on 19.

Another set of mediums and 31L of fuel I was about 6-7secs behind the Hornet boys but drove like mad to catch them. Passed them again near the end of the stint and they pitted on 37 and myself on 38.

Having put a lot of fuel on first stop, I settled for 16L and came out 0.2secs ahead of Oni with us both on hards.
Made a slight gap to about 2secs but Oni came within 1.7 until he ran out of fuel on the final turn (I think).

Thank you all for putting up with me as I learn how to drive fast & clean consistently online.

Congratulations once again Hatfield. You controlled that race perfectly. Had the pace and consistency to win. Keep it up and you will see more 1st place podiums throughout the ORS.

Congratulations Hatfield, your first ORS win is such an achievement and considering you raced all 45 laps with Oni and Jasr with you is a very big statement as they are seasoned veterans.

I could not be any happier with my race, going in to the race in the wrong frame of mind all I did was concentrate 100% and it paid dividends for me. On my hard tyre, I was going lap after lap around the mid to low 1.40 mark so I knew i had the consistency and due to this I ran a long stint on my hards. Only put 12l in my first stop and with the time I lost extending my hard stint i was out after Jol and Red who had stopped 5-10 laps before me so I knew i would reel them in, it fell perfectly for a 3 way battle with red struggling on very worn mediums and Jol starting to struggle with them we all met, knowing I had the grip I just sat behind and pounced the first chance I got.

Small errors by Jol then Red at the corkscrew on consecutive laps gave me the smallest gap and I jumped at them and pulled off some impressive passes if i do say myself.

From there it was just a matter of picking the best time to stop to give me the grip at the end of the race.

Once I did stop I came out perfectly in the middle of Red and Jon and knew for the next few laps I had to keep with Red whilst waiting for the tyres to warm up, caught up to Red a few laps later and tried to keep my run going down the inside of Red but he blocked it so I had to turn violently the opposite way to avoid hitting him and touched the grass beside the main straight and luckily held the car, red wan wide at the next corner and I was through.

Sadly towards the end of the race I noticed I didn't have enough fuel to last to the end and for the last 5 laps I was double up shifting to use as little fuel as possible, it worked out perfectly as I ran out of fuel about 200m from the line.

I'll take what I learnt this week in to next week for the finale where I hope I can get my first win of the season.

Sorry i missed the race been very busy last week will def make the last race
Congrats on the win hatfield top effort mate.
