The Race Steward’s Report – Round 7 Circuit de Spa Francorchamps
Stewards: mrtaital & jasr73
Firstly boys just wanted to apologise for the delay on this one. We’ll ensure that we get our findings out in a more timely fashion going forward.
We’d like to congratulate everyone on a great race. There was a distinct lack of incidents reported (read none) or those observed that required further attention. This always makes a review process a somewhat easier job to get done. 👍
As you know, this was our first competitive outing at SPA under full race rules as a group. As such we choose to take a somewhat lenient approach. The fact was just about everyone (myself included) at one point or another strayed outside the white lines, be it by driver misjudgement, proximity of other cars or perhaps just pushing a little to hard.
Incidents where taken on balance to establish if a driver was running wide or cutting on a consistant basis, any collisions that may have occured, general review to ensure adherence to tyre regulations, if a particular incident gave an unfair advantage to an offending driver and/or effect the final outcome of finishing positions.
We agreed that we could not find a single incident that warranted a points deduction, let alone a DNF. Therefore it is our finding that points as posted in the Championship Table for Round 7 are final.
We are however going to be handing out two warnings. These warnings are issued to AussieStig117 and CJMonkey610 for 'running wide' of the established racing track area on lap 25, the final lap.
Warning detail
AussieStig117 on the final lap. Charging to reel in CJ. Exit of Pouhon (turn 12) ran wide outside the ripple strip and onto the astro / green surface, however given he reduced throttle input to less than 50% in an attempt to arrest understeer rather than stay on full throttle through the turn, a warning only is issued at this time.

CJMonkey610 on the final lap. Fighting to hold onto the lead. Front tyres at less than 10% and rears not much better understeers wide at exit turn 18 and pushes outside the ripple strip and beyond the astro turf/ green surface area. Given an attempt to reduce speed via reduced throttle / brake inputs was made prior to entry to turn 18 and was ultimately overtaken legally through the Bus stop by AussieStig. A warning only is issued at this time.

Once again if anyone has anything they would like the stewards to address, please don't hesitate to let taital or myself know.
Cheers boys, looking forward to the final round.
