Well it is a little late to give my prediction, but I would have picked OSU.
I will say that the game was a really good one. I do think that OSU should have won the game because they pretty much gave the game to Texas. When you have to kick five field goals to put points on the board, instead of touchdowns, your chances of winning are severely hurt. It also does not help that the one guy dropped a touchdown pass that should have been extremely, extremely easy to catch. Not only was he wide freakin' open, but the pass could not have been put in a better spot.
Ohio State's linebackers played a heck of a game, especially after the first couple of drives when it was starting to look like Texas would be able to do whatever they wanted to do against OSUs defense. Adjustments to OSUs defense changed that and caused Vince Young to beat OSU with his arm, which he did do. Even after this game, I still question Young's ability to throw the ball, as this is really the first big game in which he has beaten a team with his arm. I cringe every time he throws the ball; he has to have the most ugly throwing motion in all of football. Though I do think Young's passing ability was made to look better by some miscues by Ohio State's secondary. Was it just me, or did it look like the OSU CB pulled up a little on the Texas winning touchdown pass? And I am not talking about the DB who hit the Texas WR, but instead the one trailing the WR. But then again, it may have just been my perception that the OSU DBs should have been doing a better job in coverage. I just felt like compared to the LBs, they didn't raise their game enough to match what the LBs were doing.
But my entire problem with Texas's win all comes back to OSU complete lack of ability to put the ball into the endzone. Texas's defense did do a good job of stopping OSUs offense. But the again, for the last couple of years I have seriously thought OSUs offense has not been all that great. I would be pissed off if I was one of the OSU LBs because of the lack of touchdown support from their offense.
In the end though, you have to at least give Texas a little bit of props. They kept themselves in the game and it only helped them that OSU could not put the ball into the endzone.
