Yeah, but they don't sound like a Ferrari. It's a pretty boring roar.

And I just found out last night that there's four songs you can only buy using the PSP version, connecting it to the PS2 through the USB cable. And I wanted those songs! :grumpy:

I just played it on the PSP in a shop today...... what a game!!! gonna hopefully buy it on PS2 now... and I didnt think I would buy another game till PS3!!!

I was having some trouble passing a few races so I bought the OutRun version of the F50 last night, it accelerates really fast. 👍 But these OutRun version of the Ferraris are not so pretty, the 360 Spider has a horrible wing. :yuck:

And I'm still pissed about those four songs I need the PSP to buy, there's an instrumental version of Night Flight that sounds great. I hope there's some cheat code to unlock those.

They sound like a Ferrari V8 to me, unless they've changed the sounds since the XBOX version of the game.

Unless I'm mistaken, SEGA transplanted the engine noise from F355 Challenge into Outrun 2, and F355C featured recorded engine sounds, so, technically, all of the cars in Outrun 2 sound like F355's.

Just got this today, was enjoying it alot. But when i went into the showroom, i cant buy the F355 because i dont have a PSP!!!? your 'avin a ******* laugh!
I've read about this happening in a few games before, but its never bothered me (usually cause i dont own the game, lol), but this is ridiculous. Is there anyway i can get it without a PSP??

So the PSP thing is not just for those songs? 👎

All of the "PSP-only" unlockables will be available via in-game cheat codes, as soon as SEGA releases the codes.

According to a SUMO-Digital employee who posts at the Gamespot Outrun 2006 forums, anyway.......

Let's hope so.

By the way, I thought the number of rivals per race was 14 at most, but I'm doing the third flagman missions and there's some races with up to 29 cars! Wouldn't this be a record in racing games for the PS2? Although half of them are only there to help you with the slipstream since they're pretty easy to overtake, that's still damn impressive. And fun! :D

so which ferraris are your favorite so far?
I like the tuned Testarossaso far, very easy to beat races
anyhow it looks so sexy in black

~I like the F40 most so far, but I haven't got many of them yet, I'm leaving all the outrun special models alone until I get all the normal models.

Yeah, I bought the tuned Testarossa this morning, its acceleration is great! But since the Ferraris in this game have the same stats in some groups I pick my car based on looks mostly. So my favorites would be the 360 Spider and the F430.

I played this on an arcade deal at the Auto Show today.
Ferrari wheel, pedals, and paddles made it very fun.

I only did the F50, but it was blast to drive with all these "accessories."

I'll give it a rent.

This one finally came out in the U.S. the other day.

So far, I'm quite enjoying it. Haven't done much in the way of buying extras yet, but that's just a matter of time.

It's the sort of carefree arcade racer that I haven't played in quite some time. Good for just kicking back and zipping around the countryside. And the car selection doesn't hurt, either. :)

I'm so glad it's out... :D

Now I just need to retrieve the network adaptor from a friend who never uses it and go online... :sly:

Give us some impressions of your online experience once you play it, I haven't tried to go online yet.

I have PGR3(Full taste of the Ferrari's, in & out :sly: )

I should try out that game though. I'll rent it & I'll give my impression of it.

No wonder I couldn't find this in BlockBuster! It's not out yet!

Although, looks like this weekend will be good for some Ferrari action. Does it support the DFP?

No. I don't think it supports any wheel at all, although I haven't actually tried the DFP on it (I use it only for sim racers).

As for replicating the arcade experience.. not really sure. I haven't played Outrun since the first game, more than a decade ago. However, the game does have the complete Outrun2SP arcade game on the disc.

Ah well. I loved playing this in at the Auto Show.

So much fun whooping little kids butts.

I was the only one to actually use Auto and knew how to drift with the wheel using the F50.:dopey:

This is what the Auto Show offered.

I don;t know, I've never considered setting my DFP up for it but I souhld imagine if it does it wouldn't be a great experience with it.

Hey guys, just rented this for the Xbox.

Will give my impressions in a bit!:dopey:

After about 5 hours into and reaching the end of the 3rd Flagman, all I can say is that this game is GREAT!
I love the 512bbi Outrun model. And best of all is the complete equalness or almost equalness of this game.
While people will surely go for the Enzo, they'll be surprised to learn that the arcade physics allow the game's Marque Testarossa to be just as fast! And the difficulty is stupendous!

I haven't bought all the OutRun models yet, but the F430 is a blast, and the 360 Spyder is pretty cool.
My fav. music was 1989 selections as well.

My only complaint...drop the tracks with singing. That woman is annoying.

Why? Just leave it in 200* mode and the DFP becomes a competent FF wheel.

In fact, I've used the DFP in 200* mode for the original Outrun on MAME. Much better than the keyboard or mouse, or a controller. :)

i just got outrun 2006. i tried playing lan against my brother, and it got a bit laggy. i think i might have been downloading something over azureus at the time... or if its the game

I don't think the internet connection would slow down your lan connection, but I'm not sure.

And you should replace azureus for utorrent. Much better and light.

[Bumping an old thread]

I'm planning to order this game tomorrow or later. I've read a lot of reviews of Outrun 2006 and it looks like a blast to play. Most sites gave it around 7 to 9 out of 10 possible.
Anyway, I wonder which cars you can't unlock if you don't have a PSP.
