I'd like to note that most modern-era tracks lack elevation, though.
As for official NASCAR ovals, personally I want to see at least one of each kind (long, medium, short).
We already have two long ones.

By the way please don't touch city and original tracks! :)
In GT4 my all-time favourite tracks were probably Special Stage Route 5 and Tokyo Route 246.

Amen. To both points. We already have Beginner's Circuit (sans chicane) though, so I doubt we're going to get a short track, and Motegi circuit is a suitable Darlington representation, in shape if not in attitude. Give us Phoenix and its in-field configuration then and we'll be golden. Otherwise, I suppose we do have enough ovals. What's the list so far?

Test Course
Beginner's Circuit
Indianapolis
Daytona
Motegi

Did I miss any?

How well does the GT franchise sell in the U.S. compared to the ROTW?
I'm wondering if PD/Sony is making a grab at a large(er) U.S. market by including NASCAR?

Well, a quick wikipedia grab says that GT4 sold a bit over 3m copies. Europe sold 6m and Japan sold 1.25m. Not finding any sales data off hand for NASCAR 09, but I doubt it got that close to GT4's 3m mark.

I believe PD has said themselves they are trying to boost NA sales.

And NASCAR 09 flopped, but that had more to do with it being a terrible game, they didn't even have manufacturers.

Yea, I hope they don't touch original tracks. Well by not touch I mean don't remove. Otherwise though I'm all for including more realworld tracks.

Yea, PD is making an attempt to capture the US market. I think he even said so in the little video where he met Dale Earnhardt Jr.
