Pagani Huayra successor?

Personally I think it looks stunning. I love how Pagani brought back the Zonda styling for this and modernized it with modern CFD tech. I think something about it looks really ethereal. It's hard to explain it but that's how I feel.

For anyone thinking it looks too bulbous, soft or luxurious. I'm sure the inevitable riced out versions we'll see in the future will fix that. I can't wait to see a more aggressive take on this design.

It's hideous and I love it. All Paganis have been ugly as hell to me but they're very unique and brash and still very good at what they do.

Edit: I'm getting the tiniest little bit of Jiotto Caspita. Must be the headlights. The cab-forward greenhouse design is similar also. Besides those two things they have very little in common.

Not sure how he did it, but Horacio has created an even worse looking car than Huayrauraura, which was worse looking than Zonda. That sure is one heck of an achievement. Some details (like the wing mirrors) look great, but as an overall package... :yuck:

I don’t know where he got that figure that 90% of electricity is from non-renewable sources, but that is just not true in the US or Europe, not even close. Maybe Russia.

Also, regardless of the actual percentage, a car fueled by a power grid powered purely by a coal power plant (which isn’t the case for any EV) would still emit less pollution overall than a gas car, due solely to economies of scale. One huge stationary fossil fuel plant is far more efficient than millions of tiny mobile ones, even after factoring in storage and transport.

There's parts to like about the Utopia, but the name does feel a bit silly. I just wish Pagani would reveal new cars in a better color... Reminds me too much of the Huayra's original reveal photos in basically the same ugly color. It shows off the lines, but man the tan/gold/beige is not a good look. Hopefully there will be more photos of it in a better color.

It's a **** name and i don't think it looks any better than the Huayra. Some details are better, some less so. It's very Pagini, for sure.

I agree with @MedigoFlame about the terrible colour they've used to unveil it with. I've seen a picture of it online in bare carbon and with different wheels and it looks much better.

The Zonda started out kind of ugly but matured into a stunning car. The Huayra I never really liked, but this at least looks better, but only because it's kind of just an uglier, sleeker Zonda. Hopefully it matures further.

They shared a couple photos of it in a pure carbon fiber finish. Looks a bit better when seen in a real setting, but I think the @TheCracker 's comment above nails it as cosplaying as a Zonda.

IMO Utopia is really beautiful machine. I prefer it to Huayra and its not far behind Zonda. Instantly recognizable, organic yet structured, aggressive enough but not overdesigned and I don't get AI vibes from it. I think that Roadster, R etc will be beautiful too

Personally, I would much rather take the Zonda over the Huayra and the Utopia. I'm fine with the styling of the Utopia, but it just seems more like a facelift of the Huayra rather than an all new car. On the other hand, the Zonda has a much more bare-bones feeling to it.

I think I preferred Pagani's "start up" phase. The Huayra...and now especially the Utopia feel very gratuitous. This car is clearly over-styled, inside and out. While I appreciate attention to detail, this is just too much. Yes, gear linkages are interesting but they aren't jewelry. It's a machine and often well designed parts will be beautiful, but Horacio stakes it too far into baroque territory. Overwrought, too long in the marinade. The T.33 is so tidy and lovely in comparison, and it's the one I'd have for my fictional $2.5m

I think that's exactly the point of Pagani, similar to Spyker. Nobody else is doing what Zonda is doing right now. The cars are very good but they don't really have any pretense of racing and haven't tried to race anything since the Zonda. It's very similar to watch culture in my opinion. Doesn't make sense to me and I don't want one but somebody will.

That said, I also think the T.33 is a bit goofy looking and I wouldn't have one.

Your comparison to watch culture makes sense to me! For some reason i really love the intricacy of a finely made timepiece, and own a few myself, and I would totally own a Pagani just to bask in its intricately crafted and finished construction.

Harry Metcalfe has driven it:

There's no doubting the quality of the car, just look at the detailing in the chassis structure under the clamshell!. I still find it overstyled. The interior almost doesn't even look sporty - it looks a bit like a 1950s American cruiser or something. I think Horacio's design peaked at the Zonda F and each subsequent Pagani has been just a little too over the top. That said, I would take this over the bulbous Huayra any day.

I still have mixed feelings about this car haha.

I love the Zonda F and the Huayra has grown on me, but this looks like they just went back Zonda but made it look worse IMO

When has Pagani not been overstyled? That's their whole brand and the interiors have always felt like sitting inside a mechanical watch.
