Maybe 1.2 was so minor it wasn't worth the time going to Sony when 1.3 was nearly done they are a small team better to stay focused?
 
My bets are on either Tuesday or Thursday for the Patch and the Japanese Pack, 2 weeks later the Red Pack and soon after first Porsche Pack.

I am looking forward to Update 2.0 ;-) When they have finished patching the game and actually start releasing new content. Do I hear Private online Lobbies from anyone? ;-)

I just hope they do NOT use PD's time scale of getting the game to what it should have been at launch. Which is, release all the content the advertising blurb said was in the game. e.g. Course Maker
 
Unfortunately that's one of the downsides of AC multiplayer on the PC side, once the server is running you can't change cars or tracks or lap count or anything. In order to change anything you need shut down the server, make the changes, reopen it and hope everyone rejoins. Kinda sucks. Hopefully it will be different on consoles but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
So Brandon, if I'm understanding this correctly even with privet lobbies in the pc you can only run the same race over and over before shutting down the server for a track/lap change??.
I guess lots of people waiting for this feature in the console won't be very happy if implemented this way.

Correct. There's a third party app that will let you setup a track list to cycle through but with the native software you have to restart the server to make changes. It's a bit limiting.

Bit annoying closing/opening lobby's and sending out invites for every set of room changes but manageable.
 
Yea thinking of consoles though mate.

I'm aware, was suggesting that since that's how it's done on PC sims they don't know any different and may have to learn/create a different system for the console because it's not something that already exists in the software.

Sure thing, sorry miss read your post :embarrassed:. PC and console are different cultures so to cross over involves a steep learning curve but prior research would have been held in good stead. l hope the improvements that will fill the void of console expectation will boost sales to fund a ever improving all round experience.

One thing missing is telemetry data. Also data from races and practices, Hot Laps and Time Attack are not saved. GT6 on PS3 keeps data from races, even on-line races. If PD can do in PS3 then shouldn't be really hard to kUNOS implement this in PS4. I believe they have this feature in full fledged sims they make so let's make it to PS4.

I would guess you're on about the features available and not the experience. I still play GT6 online regularly as some friends are still playing it, the same people I have been racing against shortly after GT5 came out. Issues with seeing drivers, mics cutting out, tracks not loading, pinball lagging cars, extremely long loading times and disconnections are as problematic as always.

It's something we only experience in GT6.
 
Oh no, please no, I do NOT want the online experience from GT6. It may have the bells and whistles but the whole thing doesn't work. From what I've seen so far, online on AC is solid.

Yes, quite correct, none of the bad GT6 stuff onbviously.

So basically I would like see:

1) Fully customise-able lobbies. All options available to room owner including handicapping
2) Free practice before event starts
3) Being able to change cars while at the track
4) Displayed texting so easy communication between drivers
6) Room owner being able to kick players while on track
7) Before entering a room being able to see player lag times
8) Being able to region/country lock a room and/or set maximum lag time allowable
9) A search function on track, class, laps, practice or qualifying available and friends


Future additions:

10) Endurance races by time
11) Mandatory pit stops
12) Mandatory change of tyre type
13) Maybe introducing a driver rating system (this would be a can of worms)
14) Refining penalty system to what is is in real life -e.g 3 warnings then a drive through penalty
15) Able to set up championships
16) A lobby stewards review system where after the race a replay could be watched by all

And last of all, what about being able to put your preferred number on a car just like in GT6 ;-)

I am sure there are more but this would be a great start.
 
It's because PD try to implement tons of features such as this list that we get a Gran Turismo game so often...

Well among other reasons obviously.

l feel the bar is set to high, kunos are a small team with a small budget, what has been achieved is fantastic although short of console expectations. A room can be set on creation assists/stock/tuned/private/public that will require a lot of work, stuff like pit stops/tyre change/practice can all be worked around. Must be realistic and maybe long term things get added/improved, chicken egg, it all cost money which comes from sales.

7x the staff and maybe as much as 40x the budget is a big reason, "PD can do this on PS3". Lots of things are possible but when you are extremely tight on resources you have to prioritize.
 
And that I really hope is improved in GTS considering PS Plus subscription...
Well... Don't hope to much... Cause PD already said that the normal online multiplayer will be P2P servers up to 16 players like those of GT6.

GT Sport will also have dedicated servers like assetto has,but only for the FIA Championships and up to more than 20 player's.

So,the improvement will be only in the FIA Championships and normal and private lobby's will be like the older GT's...

Funny that despite all that (and never having released anything for consoles before) Kunos still managed to release AC on consoles before PD is able to release anything. :lol: And in the mean time, MS is churning out all their new titles cross-platform (and PC peeps can play with/against the XB peeps even!). But I digress. :D

"Multiple Race Modes include Career mode, special and unique events and challenges. Fully customizable single player and multiplayer modes include quick races, race weekends including free practice sessions, qualifying session, drift challenges and more"

May I draw your attention to this part "Fully customizable single player and multiplayer modes......." They are still advertising that we can customise MP!!!

So small team or not this is what was/is promised and I would really like to get what I have paid for. Also do not forget they announced 24hrs before release that MP would be fixed lobbies only.

So I when can I have what has/is promised?
 
I think the patch is coming today, because the Japanese Pack is on xbox live and i've already installed it. Now just waiting for the patch to drive the JDM cars.

God, I hope they don't need this pointed out to them.
Hosted lobbies is what we really want after all.

I realized just recently that the console version doesn't even have custom lobbies because people have been emphasizing the private aspect. I'm not sure why private lobbies have taken precedence over custom ones.

Yes seen that and a earlier interview stated the consoles will have more or less what pc has but then days before release it was regretted that somethings didn't make it! l agree the advert should be changed as it is false. Lets hope that they haven't changed it because the patch will cover it and thank you for drawing that to my attention. The current level is what it is, promised or not, l felt and still do with the amount of work to do and being a small team on a budget not to expect everything missing/basic to be upgraded at once. The reason l dumped project cars was l felt palmed of with all the stuff missing and not working, l'm hoping kunos are different based on what l've heard in that they do basically care and genuinely want to provide a better optimising service.
