Right... An apology? For what? I said you are no programmer and from what you have said I stand by that for the reasons below.

Given the task for security checking the gear ratios you as a programmer throw your hands in the air and claim it can not be done because of the massive calculations involved. Any competent programmer would just say sure, two checks per gear on the bounds set by the game domain rules.

And you have also said that using int16 and int32 to represent the same small number in different places of code would cause problem if you just changed them all to int16 (especailly since they should all have been the smallest int size in the first place as PS3 ram is very limited). Any programer can see that this is not a issue, especially with implicit casing.

It has been you who has constantly thrown the quite hypocritical insults, but unlike you it does not bother me in the slightest because I have self worth. You have to ask yourself why you care so much about what someone you don't even know thinks about you. Of curse your natural response will be to say you don't care at all, its the typical reflex action but your constant whines for an apology and accusations of slander betray your true feelings.

"As for your comments about compiled code, they are humorous at best. "decompile into assembly" is almost as funny as "unalterable hashs", and I damn near lost it when I read the part about the logic and generated code. Classic stuff there!"

Shall I direct you to a program that decompiles vs2010 code (via what ever language and assembler) into assembly? Its like you have never thought that someone might think to join a decompiler and an assembler.

And FYI memory dump is not a clearly defined term like you think it is. It just means taking a snapshot of memory for further examination. This examination can be at run time or not, it does not change that it can still be called a memory dump. And besides, are you really trying to rely on semantics to try to win an argument? You knew full well what I meant so just answer the question. Actually guess you already did answer it, I was correct but I just didn't use your favorite term for what you do. It does not change the fact that all you are doing is changing numbers, no programming involved.

It is quite obvious you are never going to explain in rational terms your opinions, so I'll leave you to it. You can think all you like that hacking can not be stopped, while other programers can clearly see ways to do so. Your only argument has been that if it were so easy then why hasn't PD already done it. But there are examples of small changes PD could make game wide that have not been done. It is not an argument that proves anything.

Your constant referral to the gear ratio posts in the wrong context is to say the least disturbing. Do you not understand the purpose of those posts was to demonstrate why hash checks would not work and not my idea? That's probably asking too much from you.

I was going to list the multitude of lies in your post but they just keep increasing in number. Each time I ask you to prove one you simple ignore it and add two more. So it is pointless to do so.

I have to admit when you first joined the conversation I honestly thought you were autistic and tried to be patient with you because of that. Later I started to think you were a compulsive liar but you do not fit that quite right. You do seem to have difficulty stating things truthfully even when faced with evidence to the contrary. You try to manipulate things so it appears that is what you meant all along, you may even believe these things to be true yourself. You find self worth important enough to mention it in a discussion on hacking and programming. You use lies and avoidance to avoid being wrong or to attempt to prove your point, even when you change your point you convince yourself that is what you meant in the first place. These are all symptoms of what is called a pathological liar. There is medical treatment for this. Your doctor should be able to prescribe medication for you. If you feel uncomfortable seeking medical help try talking to friends or family, their support may help you get the help you need.
I also hope other forum members can recognise this medical condition and help you by pointing out when it is affecting your posts. In the end you are the one that has to ask a doctor for help. I'll do my part in pointing out your symptoms in hope that you seek help soon.
Good luck.

Can't you just hack his account? Put the apology in his user status.

Interesting thread..

I don't think I'm going to bother with GT online, ever.

Vaguely on topic, I only just noticed that my warning notice was in French.

From a friend on the subject of banned hackers.

"It's not a shock really. Since they announced GT6 wouldn't have a trade feature you knew they'd work towards this. Can we blame them? In part. I know we don't have many tuning parts in GT6, but does that give us right to swap a Fiat 500 engine with an X1 motor? No. Even the realistic hybrids shouldn't have happened. I admit that my Zonda C12S with the Huayra engine contradicts my point but I'm not going to blame PD. I did it, my fault."

So, as a way of stopping the drama, what's your thoughts on what he said?

He should just hack my site and put it on there. Especially since I built the whole thing from scratch and am a rubbish coder and obviously from this thread I know nothing about security. Should take him what, 5mins? I even have errors left visible to users which should help him out a lot (because if nobody sees them I'll never fix them being so lazy).

How about it... Whoever I was talking with, when should I expect a message appearing on my front page?

When somebody starts to attack the poster and not the argument, then that just shows how little confidence he has in his own posts.

That's a dangerous statement to make on a public website, you'll never know who picks up the challenge...

That said, why don't you guys agree to disagree and stop the discussion right here, there's really no point in continuing this.

Gooby pls (couldn't resist)

And yeah, I'd both keep certain info out of public reach about your site and stop the thing before it does end badly for the both of you.

I really hope that you're not suggesting that the ability to make a website with a database back-end in any way classes you as someone that knows more about programming than anyone else with a $20.00 dummies guide and w3schools book-marked.

PD can do what they like with their game. They shouldn't be surprised when people find ways around their artificially implemented restrictions though.

Online has certain standards that need to be upheld for it to be seen as a fair playing field. Offline has none of that, and if someone wants to put an X engine in their Fiat 500 or anything else, then they should. Fun is fun, they paid for the game and they should use it however they want, as long as it's not impacting others.

Reminds me of the dumb stuff I used to do as a WoW player. I think at one point I spent a week trying to climb all sorts of mountains. Some required glitching scenery to get up. I was having a jolly old time, nobody else gave two shakes of a lambs tail, everyone was happy. I find offline hybriding to be the same thing.

I actually never (that i was aware) raced against modded cars, but i feel it defies so much the purpose of a car game... Specially one with so many car options. This is one(besides my patience with pd ending) of the reasons i prefer more sim-oriented games with no parts purchasing , just tuning
For example, a car with a diferent engine, will it show on the spec sheet? Fiat 500 1.4t with a x1 engine will show v6 turbo, bla bla bla? Or it will just show increased hp?
Could a test checking this kind of spec (wheelbase, f/r track, engine size) be an easier way to police hacking/modding?

I can presume at if you ask, and grant permission to do so he can do it, but give him a permission to do so before trying to lay a trap for him.

Much like modding games, it's the hackers responsibility to understand potential consequences of their action.

If he is laying a trap and someone falls for it, it's still their fault.

I love how this generation thinks everything is and/or should be "allowed" every time they decide "you should have expected it" though.

Banks laying a trap down the street from you bro, they got a pile of money and know people want it.

They askin fo that to be stole yo!

"Grant a permission" stands for just to kill down any public complains from @nasanu if his site gets now hacked, I know plenty of traps what banks lay, happens like I have been working on bank IT..

@FarSideX is aware of law, and I can bet at he won't do anything what gets him vulnerable for legal actions against him.

I actually agree.

I think PD should have blocked the cars from online, not the players. I mean, if they're wanting offline to be harder, why let us tune our cars so well and race them against racing bananas.

Couldn't you make this argument about anything? Anyway a modern website is a compiled executable just like any program. You need all the knowledge to make a program plus all the knowledge needed to make a website.

I can presume at if you ask, and grant permission to do so he can do it, but give him a permission to do so before trying to lay a trap for him.

Full permission for him is granted, as it was when I said it  There is zero risk, but I'd actually be happy if he could find something, at least then I could patch it and the site would be improved. People pay for that. But it must be a hack of the code, not the server/ftp pass which is not in my control.

I actually agree.

What about players who use these cars to cheat? If its just about the enjoyment of the cars then there is no need to take them online. Even if most didn't cheat (yeah right) just the thought of them can spoil it for the rest of the community. Did that guy win because of talent or is he a cheat?.. Such thoughts will creep in unless the cheats are stamped out and I think a total online ban is justified.

I don't have any experience in GT6 but in GT5 when you say, swap engines or add/remove natural aspiration it affects entry restrictions.

The people who cheat?

It's easy to set max power, tyre and weight limits on cars. So yeah, similar to the one in PP rooms but over all lobbies online.

saw this today, its a video of a hacked nascar whose little hockey puck on the hood changes color depending on what the car is doing

https://vidd.me/v/VB4

First of all, its not a hockey puck...its a video camera, strike one. Second, its on the roof of the car, not the hood, therefore the correct name is a roof cam, strike two. Lastly, and most importantly, its just reflections, nothing more, strike three, you're out.

Those are reflections? Why isn't the "reflection" hitting the roof area around the camera housing?
