I was just curious if this what be a Positivie or Negative thing in Gran Turismo.

We all know Performance points is based on Weight and Power but would you think adding suspension work and transmission work to the points would make racing a bit more challenging and fun?

Like Clutch,LSD,Driveshaft, etc.

It's just I think it's boring always seeing other cars racing with maxed out suspension work online unless rule regulations say otherwise.

You guys opinion ?

If you're just referring to adding the parts, then I think it would be a good addition, as long as it didn't mess up the PP calculation even more. When it comes to the tuning, it would either lead to complaints that "it's faster with a lower PP suspension setup!" or "it's made it too easy for people to tune, there's no finesse now!".

If there would be an option to turn it on or off, I would welcome it. I can see racing being a bit more challenging. It would more realistic as well, since certain racing organizations and club have suspension regulations. Good idea!👍

PP is good in the same way it is bad.

Forza also has its issues with balancing its system.

In the perfect world, there would be different way to treat PP for different parts of the cars' mechanics - as you suggest and I agree - as well as PP calculation would take much more than only tuning procedures.

If you are interested, you can read my overview here (post #43), it is a bit old - since the times of GT5: Prologue when PPT system was initially introduced - but my point is still valid IMO.

In a perfect world the PP system would take every little change into account but I think the most intelligent change in the PP system would be to classify like cars together for some form of rating system. What I mean by that is you have Supercars, High Performance Street Cars, Family Cars, Trucks, Concepts etc. I can think of at least 10 distinct categories of cars and my feeling is PD should find a way to not only calculate overall PP as they do now, but a specific and tailored PP calculation for each category of car so that when done, most of the cars in that category are competitive on the track with one another.

Instead of trying to make a 1700lb Jag compete with a 1000kg NSX, make the NSX competitive PP wise with the M3GTR's, CSL's LFA's and other cars in it's category. Make the heavy Jags, Astons, Maserati's etc. competitive with each other. Make the muscle cars competitive with each other etc.
