instructions can be a bit misleading.
backin up your save game is only there incase anything breaks.
You borrow a car
exit GT5
delete gt5 game data (the very top of teh game section on your ps3 menu bar) which should be about 8gb
Start GT5 up and when it asks you to install the update, press circle to decline.
got GT mode and into your garage and change the car to any other car apart from teh one you borrowed (which will bge the one your driving when game is loaded)
Once you've changed cars. wait til game has saved, exit from gt life mode back to teh title screen and then exit the game.
Load the game up and when it asks to install update hit X to accept. time to downlaod depends on your internet connection but 30-45 mins is expected.
once ghame has loaded up, go back into you garage and teh borrowed car shoudl be there.
trust me if it doesnt work your doing it wrong because i've been doiung it for the past 10 hours

If you restore your save game from before you glitches you will lose the car because it will 'remember' you borrowed the car and not own it. Only restore backups if anything goes wrong. Also don't buy any cars from UCD unpatched, they won't work once the patches have been applied

couple of us have the 2J and 2D now but i will hav eto sort it in morning cos am friggin tired out atm reorganizing my 3 accounts so i can share a goo dbunch of cars lol.
It'll eithe rbe me or a guy username Rob summat or other but if u wanna add me i can put car up first thing in morening n ad liek a couple off your list but, i really cant be doing with doing any more glitching. been doing it all day lol

great help thanks very much. im just guessing my first time tryings a lil longer then expected 20-25 min install, but a 1hr 10min down load does suck.

Yes, roll eyes, people are having fun again with a "game" they paid money for in order to have some fun playing a game. What a concept.

What's the fun in spending an hour+ saving and deleting files just to get a car? The fun is earning the car and then knowing that you gained it fairly.
I bet the same people who are doing this are the people that are complaining that GT is too easy or offers no challenge.

Mmmm, i agree with you there. But after grinding ~100 races at La Sarthe [and other methods of getting credits] I need a break from chasing cars.
GT5 offers much, much more than getting money and buying cars. Which is why i've been playing it for this long. Best game i've ever played so far.

I was doing 3 cars per hour on the evening I decided to do this. I dont grind for hours, dont rubber band, don't break out glitch or do a lot of bspec. I wanted a few more cars in the garage to do what I love...race.
Too each his own. I have never enjoyed a game as much as I do GT5...and I started with GT1. Heck, I started with Defender. This game rocks!
