Permanent Borrow Glitch Trading Thread

My thumbnails of certain cars are either invisible or totally different colors! I wouldn't recommend this at all...just save up for your car. My garage is screwed up now:ouch:
 
I'm guessing you painted some of your cars? and thumbnails I can live without as long as I know what I'm driving..👍
 
You can restore thumbnails, that shouldn't be a problem. Biggest issue is most definately that you will lose all of your pics and replay videos by doing this. Everything else should remain the same.

So I found out, repainting a car will restore a thumbnail. But some cars just show up as different colors. A lot of work if you want a stable visual garage.

Edit: I don't see my Edge Special SS anymore either, found out I can redownload from the ps store...

Edit pt 2:instead of repainting a car, you can refresh the thumbnail (garage>menu>create thumbnail)

Even if your colors from your thumbnail and car don't match up, you can refresh them and they will show correctly.
 
I guess the question is would you loose anything that was pre patch ie. helmets suits and or gold chromes. I am trying this now and will let everyone know.
 
the issue with the thumbnails screws it a bit for all hardcore collectors. I have fixed my 900+ car garage once after my old PS3 went YLOD, this is very timeconsuming. So for newbies with a small garage, the glitch is excellent to get some FGTs or X2010s.Collectors with a 1000+ garage must decide if some cars are worth the effort. In the end it is still easier then trying tickets or surfing the UCD for years. So the final 5-10 cars(real special stuff only!) still may be worth the effort, but the job is stinky, hours of fixing around 60% of the thumbnails in all 3 different garage views. 👎

Ahh, I see..if you push triangle and then"create thumbnail" it will restore them, one at a time:)

I thought the game may get confused with the unknown data in the save game file. Turns out it does not and everything is fine. i scored the last car i needed.

btw can u borrow a carbon x1? (Searches friends list to whoever has a carbon) :drool:
 
I guess it would be a easy task if you have 2x PS3's in your house. Then you can switch from one to the other with your savegame. Or switching your HDD (if you have a extra 2,5" HDD) would also work. :)

So, no one with an Nissan GT-R SpecV (GT Academy Special) in their garage has tried the glitch till now? Can you keep the car or will you loose it?

And yea, I am not talking about dupping the car here. :sly:

very good point with the 2 PS3s or just a friends PS3 without the game installed! :)

then you don´t have to erase your gamefiles and chances are good that you keep your thumbnails! 👍

this should also save your Special GT-R if there should be any connections with the gamefiles.

Hey guys heres a quick tip!
Gotta USB Hard Drive? Haven't installed GT5 yet? Heres a neat way to do the glitch faster!
1. Copy your game data into your USB stick
2. When you remove it and do the glitch, simply copy the game data back that was on the USB stick.
 
Dude...why didn't I think of that..I have a portable hard drive.👍 that would be quicker.:)
 
Why is everyone so excited about dupping the X2010's? They are the stupidest car in the game.

Great find by the way! I'm going to try this when I get home. Before PD fixes it.

Carbon X10 is the only car in the game I can't get myself.(besides the academy ones which I already have almost all of.:))
