Pescarolo - Worth Buying?

I use the R92CP for b-spec whenever I am walking away( like long endurance races just for the money ), but with that list I can now see why the sauber is such a pest...

The R92CP would have to be my overall favourite in its class, since aquiring the black version allowed me to conquer so many races previously out of my reach. It was the first F1 type car I owned, so there's some sentimental value there too. However I find the Minolta Toyota a more agile and responsive ride, crashing less often in B-Spec mode.

You miss the point Nitrate. As great as your tests of the A.I. in relation to each other are, they simply don't apply to either A-Spec driving nor B-Spec driving, which are both faster than the normal computer A.I. These tests also neglect the fact that the computer A.I. all uses R1 tires in the endurance races, which allows the Pesky with it's far superior tire wear to reign supreme; as it can use softer compound tires than the A.I. can 9nd des) use.

The point isn't missed, or even misunderstood. I have also tested the LM cars in A-spec & B-spec, and while certainly faster than the AI, my times and race results with the top 'C' cars are always better than both Peskys. No doubt that you can beat the AI 'C' cars with Peskys, but that doesnt make the cars btter, just better than the AI.

As I have said before, while the Peskys are easier to drive, thus more forgiving on the tires than someone who dosn't drive the 'C' cars well and thus rips through the tires and or rides of the course. If that is a problem, then a Pesky, or for that matter an Audi R8 is the best choice.

I think some people might have forgotten drive perfeces, hencs drive the car you like the best. If it's the R92 drive it, if it's C60 drive it and if it's a mx-5 drive it. Because if don't like it you might not drive it 100% and it become a chore and it's not fun if it's a chore.

Go the R8

I personally love driving 3 cars more than any others:
Mercedes CLK DTM
Audi R8
Pesky (green not the playstation version)

For some reason that pesky just puts up ridiculous lap times, it beat out the white pesky midfield and was just a tad slower at the ring

Wise words from a new member!

That's also the problem with many car comparisons as they often times are more of a reflection on the ability and preference of the person doing the driving, and not nearly as much on the actual capability of the cars.

The modern LMP cars are by far the easier cars to drive compared to their mighty Group C predecessors, and thus not difficult to understand why many find the R8, LMR, and Peskys to be preferable, and for each individual, that is all that really matters. :)

seriously if you dont take my advice u should go sit in a corner and think about what you have done

buy buy buy buy buy the pescarolo C60/judd race car (the white and blue one) and do it up it will have 1100 BHP or soo and handles better than alot of cars in the game.it is a beast, it handles almost as good as the PD formula GT and on some tracks it will do a better lap time then the PD formula GT E.G Le Mans (cicuit la sartheII) it holds the tracks fastest time record

seriously dude if you dont buy it you should go sit in the corner and think about what you have done

P.S
i agree with the AUDI R8 but the reason the PESKY isnt in my sig is because my friend said he would delete my account on GT when i wasnt looking cuz its "his car" cuz he bought it first lol

I have both of the Pescarolo cars and tuned them fully its fast in straights but crap at corners and the mercedes sauber is quite tough to keep up with

Well heres a tip for everyone about car buying, don't pick one car over another based on how they finish when driven by AI, this thread I made shows that the Sauber Mercedes finishes first when it starts ahead of the pack, and third when starting mid-pack.

The Pescarlo is very similar to the Audi R8 and Bently Speed 8, speedwise they'll both reach around 220 Mph, Nurburgring, they'll lap around 6'20 at best when driven by AI.

Overall out of the three, I'd say the Audi R8 and Playstation Pescarlo are just slightly better than the Bently, so, Audi or Pescarlo? You decide...

What about the 905.

Nah they're not the same as the Pescarolo. Stock, without Nitrous, the Pescarolo reached a top speed of 237 MPH on "Like the Wind" (although it was a little degraded - drove 8000 Miles), and the Bentley reached upto 250 (some more when drafting).

Other than short races I have not found this to be true at all. In my LM AI testing, results for each car in each field regardless of grid position were very predictable.

The GT All Stars is a series of such short races with the Nurb race lasting all of two laps. Despite the length of each lap, the AI among close comp cars, may not make enough successful passes before the end of the 2nd lap.

So perhaps the tip to consider is to not judge the cars based on the AI performance in short races like those in the GT All Stars series?

Think of the Pescarolos as those cars that take on endurance over power. I honestly think the Pescarolos and the BMW V12 LMR are quite slow but they do pit less and do comsume less fuel

But still...The AI in GT4 is well known as uncompetitive. Do you think you NEED a pescarolo for racing. Just to have because they are fun to drive is one thing, but getting them to beat the AI is another. I have never run into any problems with my stock speed8, which I won, didn't buy. In that, I often forget to change from RSH/RH to med.s on short racesm but still win easily. Your 4.5 is probably better spent getting other cars.

The Cheesester is right, STOCK, pretty much any of the Group C/GTP/LMP cars will easilly beat the ai cars. All you have to do is stay on the road and you can easily (Well, perhaps a slight exaggeration. Some people will find it a tad more difficult which is normal) win by 20 seconds, and that's coming from a fairly average driver who'd probably get hammered by the majority of players here.

In my view, the Pesky cars are rip-offs at 4.5 million, considering you get the Jaguar, Sauber C9 and Audi R8's for free... Then you've got the 787B at 3.5 million which is just as economical and a cool 1 million less!!

I think in this game, it's not about which is the best Le Mans car, let's face it any one of them is good enough to win provided you drive decently.

It's more a case of... Which do you think looks the coolest?? And if it is the Pesky, is it worth 4.5 million MORE than the Sauber, Audi & Speed 8 put together?? :P

(Unless of course, you just want everyone of the le mans racing cars, and are already minted, which is fine)

That is why it is crap in the corners. I have won many 24hr races with the LMP being completely untouched except the usual tuning. My last was with the Pescarolo Courage Peugot and I won by a lap and a half and handled like a dream. I admit the Peugot version may be a little sluggish down the straights due to the V6. But when your doing 220mph and handling corners faster than an R8 it really makes you think that in a 13km course you would put a lead which is true. I have 3 Pescarolo's, 2 Judd and 1 Peugot.

During my endurance I researched abit and I noticed that my Peugot and the AI Judd did less milage than the R8. The R8 had 8 liters left and my Pescarolo Peugot V6 had 4 and same with the Judd V10.

Me personally, I think its worth it. You do what you want with your money but in the Sarthe I endurance you will pit 8 laps regardless if you are on hards or super hards due to the fuel consumption. The R8 pits on lap 8 and the Speed 8 pits on 9 but you will be long ahead at that time. Like I said the Peugeot is worth it but sluggish down the straight but the handling definately makes up for it. The Judd V10 is very fast down the straights but for me it understeers a slight bit. Also just to add to the Judd V10 is it the GV4 power plant or the GV5?

The 787B can allegedly go up to 9 laps, and it's only 3.5 million.

Looks pretty too. :D

I never drive the Group C cars unless I do the 24hr Sarthe II endurance with no chicanes in the Mulsanne straight. I only Drive the GT1 and LMGTP (Bentley Speed8) and LMP1/2(Pescarolo Peugeot).
