Transmission:
Reset to default
Set top speed to 124(Min)
4496
3540
2830
2300
1910
1640
Set Final Gear: 2700

Comments: Shift @ 9500RPM[/SIZE]

Not sure exactly how you got to those numbers with that sequence. I couldn't get the gears to hit.

Here's what I ended up doing.
Reset to default.
Set top speed slider to 124
After a few tries, set the Final Gear to 4450.
Bumped the Top Speed slider right a click then back to 124.
All gears ranges included your numbers.

Thanks again for all the work you put in to these tunes. Grats on the tune of the week by the way!

Happy Holidays man.
:):dopey:

Edit:OMG!

I don't know what to say. Arguably, I am not the best GT5 driver and I did some perusing of Grinols' website and noticed his strategy. But I can honestly say I didn't really expect this result on this seasonal, even with a CSL tune set up specifically for this car and track. Got into second place by lap 6, after a dive bomb penalty and it had started to rain. When the leader hit the pits for rain tires I took the lead around lap 8 and loafed along to a 30 sec win, even having one brief moment of stoppage between those pair of left handers before the high speed section.

Thanks again Dom! Be taking my '10 Camaro to the next seasonal with your tune on it.

Edit 2: By the way. Wasn't sure I'd like this car because of the 2 stroke like sound it has but it was an absolute blast to drive. Get it pointed in the right direction and start feeding it gas and it just hooks up and keeps going where you tell it to. Awesome tune!

Hi Dom! The tranny settings cannot be reached, even after engine break. Will you check them please?

Dan,

Try using the above mentioned sequence to hit CSL's gear numbers. It's important to note that after each adjustment to the final you have to bump the top speed slider right then back again before the gear ranges will change.

The Castrol is definitely as written, you have to do it in the order though, and not touch anything else other than listed in any way.
A stage 3 engine if applicable will throw the gear ratios off from mine(stock) meaning you'll need to start with a slightly higher final gear than default, raising it about .100-.200 before doing the tranny trick should sort it out. 👍

Dragon - What do you mean tune of the week?
Not sure about the HSV gears, I thought I'd set them from default, but being a season car, I did often start with different final drives than default, so it's quite possible. :dopey:
I never run anything higher than .100 over minimum final gear for serious races.

Dragon - What do you mean tune of the week?

GTPlanet Weekly Rewind
GTPlanet Tune of the Week

This week’s tune features the Castrol Tom’s Supra tune done by CSLACR of Photo Finish Racing. This tune was specifically devised for use at the Suzuka International Circuit, making it a perfect fit for this week’s New Year’s Holiday Challenge Seasonal Event that went live this past Wednesday.

See above.

Yeah, well done Dom! Congrats! 👍

This one was for the tune of the week. :P :)

 I've done it exactly how it is written and I don't have the Stage 3 Engine installed. :grumpy:

Thank you Dragon, anyway. 👍

Would you mind if I give it a shot? Send the car, if tradeable, and I'll see if I can get it there, then send it back.

Just so you know Dom, I took that Camaro tune you made earlier this year and ran the Nurb seasonal with it. At first I had applied your settings but forgot to change the suspension and struggled several times to keep the thing on the road. Went back and discovered I'd forgotten to apply your suspension settings, changed it and went out and promptly won while shaving 30 seconds off my best lap time. Had to add some weight to her to keep it at 600pp but it got the job done.

Thanks again.

Don't suppose you have any LMP car tunes lurking around do ya'? Something in the 700pp range?

I don't mind Dragonwhisky, to send it to you, and thank you for help but, it is not about to reach those numbers for every gear in a way.

They can be reached in several ways.

The sequence written by the tuner is important to reach them.

If you just reach them in another way, this is not the same final result for the tranny.

At least this is my my knowledge. Thanks again! 👍

Addtional congrats on having the tune of the week. I like Praiano and all, but three of four times as the tune of the week was beginning to get old.
Thanks, I'm sure as he explores tunes, etc, he'll find all of us in no time. 👍

Not off hand, but it's on my to-do list since 2.09. 👍

As long as all the gear numbers are the same it's good. 👍

I say to do it in order because it's the easiest way I know to get the numbers, that's all.
Reset the trans
Move the top speed slider down to minimum
Move 6th gear to specified number - if you can match this number, you got it made.
Move final gear down to specified number
Move gears 1-5 to their specified numbers

Was just checking in case I had trouble with the spa seasonal. It was frighteningly easy. Only the TT left and no tuning allowed there. So I'll stop pestering you for s while.

Note to Ben,

Since the transmission settings are numerically valued to the thousandth (0.000). How you get to the numbers should be unimportant. That you get to the numbers is what matters. Every car has a fixed range for the final gear and top speed adjustment. Each gear has a range that is affected by the top speed and final setting. But not vice versa.

Send me a friend request if you'd like me to give it a shot.

I figured it out, although I don't know how it happened.
Here's how to do get those exact numbers: (Final gear goes to 3.247, not default)

I'm guessing I accidentally changed the final gear before setting it up and didn't notice.

You can just as easily do it from default and use slightly different numbers though, just keep the gearing graph similar to the one in the video. 👍

Regarding the AEM 2ooo,

What are the HP weight and pp ?

thanks, look forward to trying these.
There are no available weight reductions for the AEM S2000, however I have amended the tune a bit to suit my liking more without ballast.
Power/PP are up to you, stock engine covers up to 555PP, high RPM turbo takes it a little higher, but not much.

I would recommend not changing the oil for any applications lower than 550PP. 👍

Very true, I'll check when I get on later, not a clue what happened there. Pretty sure it has 105kg ballast though.

Hi Dom! I've drove about five hours yesterday this one in cockpit view, without indicators on the screen (only race info and drivers list). I've used all the SPORT tires successfully.
It is a very good car and tune, even if it's already old now. I was really enjoyed this car. 👍

I've just added:

Racing Air Filter
Titanium Racing Exhaust
Catalytic Converter Sport
6 Gear Close Ratio Transmission (because of top speed wasn't enough)
Power Level to 500PP

Oh, and Dom, it's not listed in the OP. :P Maybe you'll find the time to "fine tune the tune" and approve it for 2.09. ;)

Just wanted you to know the Mobil One GT500 tune you created for me a while back ruled the Suzuka A-Spec seasonal. Very smooth and I only slightly modified the LSD to suite my driving style. You said it would be very nice at Suzuka and boy was it ever. :D
