I seem to remember Nuno explaining that he picked themes and matches fair and square. As in, writing them down, putting them in a hat or bowl, and radomly picking one out. I could be wrong though, but Nuno will surely explain this to us 👍

Since the 1st Tournament I hosted, its been this system I used. First the themes are picked, I place the papers on a little bag I have, and then of course the names of the entrants are picked the same way, totally random. I´m not here trying to manipulate anything, and I´m sure most of you guys know that.

However when themes are suggested, I pick the most interesting ones and put them in the Tournament (to have more interactivity with you guys). You guys can check last Round 1 of PMC division and see that two themes that some members suggested are there, but its not "manipulating" anything, because the draft of the names have been done after the themes were placed.

It's a good system you have Nuno. Just a coincidence that the themes came out the way they did. It's cool that most of the themes are very close to people's individual styles. Should be a hell of of a tournament.

I'm really not feeling inspired for this in the slightest. I know the votes are going to go to the person who does the best blur or cleanup anyway so taking the actual picture is kind of redundant.

Eventually, we all agree. It's kinda sad, because the Tournament is named Photomode Tournament, not Photoshop Tournament. 👎 I may never enter a Tournament at all.

I woulnd't be upset because of the theme. We used to see too much the same blur lately so surely there are a lot of alternatives to surprise the community. I'm guessing this may add more interest to that battle, and both guys definitely have the skills 👍

For Pete's sake people, are we complaining about Photoshop again?! If you don't want to use it, keep yourself to the competitions with strict PMC rules and the PMC tournament, but don't come here and ruin the atmosphere for other people. The rules that we use have been used in a long time, and it is the root for the Tournament. Not to be personal now, but I'm getting god oh so tired of this Photoshop moaning all the time lately.

GT4 Photomode is old, people want to perfect their pictures, and that means Photoshop time.

This is the 2.0, it is expected for people to use Photoshop to get more votes on they’re entries. There are PMC and Unedit competitions for showing the Photograph skills; 2.0, Free and others to a more artistic and creative photos. Of course, composition is always important in a photograph, but hey, nothing personal, I loved your entry in the qualifier round, and I think it was the most or one of the most powerful pictures in it, very clean, effective, great composition and everything, I even had the same idea that you, but didn’t have time to put it in practice, but, with no offence at all, it was just there, the back of a skyline, standing still on "the safe zone", no wild experiment, no nothing, it was lacking something.

I love to see great photography, especially in PMC like pictures. But when I go to 2.0 I look for creativity, creativity through Photoshop, what people can and can’t do in it, how do people transform photos from crappy textured ones to ubber clean photos, not really looking the same has the original.

Also, people do this just for fun, why get upset about it?

Especially when I am the only idiot who didn't knew the last Tournament was PMC style Indeed, my comment before was rather whiny than anything. I won't deny at all that I would love to enter these competitions if I had any graphic program. But my heart is with Photoshop, and Photoshop is it Once I get it, perhaps I will expand my goals

That was totally different from everyone elses. And as I recall, you ended up winning. I too have been frustrated with my entries to the 2.0 side of things, because I also don't much like the whole "blurred to the point of excess" thing that sometimes happens. But you can't totally write off your own entry before you look for something. there are other ways to show speed.

You just gotta think outside the restriction a bit. creativity has a way of just exploding.

Seeing the theme you've got, I can't see how you could not win with a speed blur or vector-like clean-up. Remember franz' GT entry a time ago at Infineon? People didn't like the vector look of it, so I believe you're wrong on the vector look being necessary to win Look at TW's recent entries. He mixes up PD's blur with PS blur and adds only necessary clean-up, most of the time minimal. Look at how much wins he has scored. Again, I'm in complete denial you need a speed blur at Phototravel, or a rediculously cleaned up car to take the win 👍

Mine was entered a few days ago. Not so sure about it, as it was taken while I was literally falling asleep from work Oh well. My blue Elise was taken from a replay where I fell asleep and slowly rolled into a wall so who knows what can be done?
