All Saddam Hussein is interested in is keeping his life spiffy and preventing his gold from tarnishing. Ok. I will ignore all precedence suggesting that he is at least a cruel man if not an immediate threat. I will ignore my government, Britains government, the claims of exiles/escapees, weapons inspectors, and all other evidence that comes up because the US media is full of propaganda. Would you mind showing me a list of experts who will vouch for Saddam's character? You know, one that dwarfs the one with experts claiming he is pond scum. Oh, and if this is based on reports in Arabic newspapers, guess their credibility. It is not racism, not alone, that makes some Mid East papers distrusted.

I think that, since I do not chose to distrust people without good evidence (though I am anti-socialist), that the US is cracking down on Islamics is not because they are Muslim, or whatever the proper reference may be, but because many of the terrorists happen to be of that religion. The big question is whether Bush treats christian/ jewish terror groups the same. Now that is a different matter to favoring favoring governments who may be guilty of crimes against humanity themselves.
I would guess that Muslims are the most scrutinized.
