He's a bit too young for a beard and thankfully he doesn't have CF (I don't think I could afford 2 kids with it, but I'm guessing somehow we'd figure it out). He's does have some supper residue, though. Does that make you feel better?

Me looking ever so slightly pleased with myself, and I don't know why;

and just for the fun of it, a friend of mine trying to steal a cat on the way home;

TB - Love that shot with you and your kids, very natural look on all of you. 👍

That's because we're all deep in thought pondering* the marvel that is Pinky and the Brain. :lol:

*too easy?

Yup, though I only know just a little more then the basics. Surprising for being in Drafting 5, but it's more of a fun class then anything else.
Don't worry about it too much. Even after close to 8 years (and pushing 15 years if you count a program similar to CAD at my previous job) I'm still learning new things that AutoCAD can do. Also doesn't help that we have an Engineer that can make it do things that I would have never though remotely possible. :)

The post made me think of two things people take for granted. (1) Good health and (2) Pinky and The Brain.

No, but seriously that first picture is a great shot of the three of you. Good luck continuing to manage your son's CF.

Thanks, Omnis. :)

So far everything is going well but after his last appointment with him culturing pseudomonas, reality kind of set in as to just how fast things like that can come up. Fortunately, we have one of the best CF clinics just a few hours away, most notably:
The median survival age has increased from 2 1/2 to 47 years old.
over the past 45 years, which is incredible - one additional year of life for every year of research that is done. That is a major medical advancement.

Almost brings a tear to my eye thinking that less than 50 years ago we'd be planning a funeral for him now... :guilty:

And if it keeps improving like that he'll live much longer.

Way to draw attention to yourself, nice and subtle :sly:

I'd like to reassure you, you shouldn't worry too much about the future since I'm more than certain further advancements will help your boy live a very long life.

It's pictures like yours, with your precious boys, that brings a tear to my eye and reminds me how damn lucky I am to have two completely healthy boys and that there are fathers better than I for what you must go through with your boy.

uhhh... so you have hair around your mouth, one of your kids has the Darth Vader thingie around his... why's the 2nd one left out?

You are one ignorant idiot!

wtf gives you the right to rip the piss out of a little kid less fortunate with health than the average kid his age? If you were in front of me now as I post you would be put right in your place guaranteed! .. for being such an asshole! and hopefully someday you will regret your smart ass remarks when your nearest and dearest have health issues 👎

If he gains a year every year, he can live forever!

Thanks, Solid. :) One can't help but think about the future and wonder what it might hold. You just can't dwell on it too much. You never know what could come up. Fingers crossed it never happens, but some day he might need a lung transplant. In conjunction with that is a whole slew of new anti-rejection meds on top of what he's already taking, so it's a double edged sword.

I'm sure that if you were in the same situation, you'd do just fine. :)👍 I was in denial for a while when he was first diagnosed, but now it all second nature. You just do what you need to do to keep him as healthy as you can for as long as you can.

Easy, Mr P. While I don't disagree with you in the least, if anyone has the right to be pissed at his comments, it's me. Take this however you'd like, Diego, but if that is the kind of person he wants to be in situations like this, then so be it. At some point, attitudes like that get you in trouble.

I have had the exact same thought! :lol: Too bad it'll never happen. There are a few meds that we are watching very closely that if they do half of what they are claiming, they will be huge for CF patients.

Thanks for all the comments, guys and gals. Keep 'em coming. Good or bad not so good. ;)

Any chance one of our Mods could move the CF related posts here to keep the pictures thread cleaned up? Unless you think it's OK, of course.

Flattery will get you nowhere, Ron, although I didn't expect less from you. I kinda missed your trolling... thanks a bunch! :)

@TB: I didn't mean any disrespect, and I think you know it, because you didn't flame me after my comment... my sarcasm has gotten me into trouble in the past, but it's usually from people taking my comments the wrong way, or hey, restrospectively it seems most of the time I deserve it. However, I know

I'm not sure if you were intending on saying more, but I'll respond to what's there.

There's no point in getting into an argument over something like this online. Everyone just comes out looking stupid and causing fractures in the forum. People start to pick sides, blah, blah, blah. I will say this, though. If there is one thing that you should really steer away from, it's poking fun at kids with illnesses, especially those of the unforeseen genetic type. It just makes you look like a heartless bastard going after the easy mark. Don't worry - I don't actually think of you that way. Keep it up, though, and that could change. ;)

The sad part is, short of the "Darth Vader" comment, you were poking more fun at my other son and now thirty posts later we're still talking about it.

I hereby declare all additional negative comments in regards to post 9210 to cease immediately.

Unless Diego starts up again. Then dog pile the piss out of him. :P

Something tells me you'd be a good candidate for a heroic "man-baby" photoshop.
