Totally accidental cycling selfie this morning.
Phone rang and while checking a bit later on to see who had rang it seems I took this while fumbling to get my phone out of my jersey pocket. Didn't realise until I got home.

Hats must be an issue.

That's the worst excuse since 'Baby caught me sleepin'.

But...but it's true your honour.
A deliberate pic and I would have gone to the trouble so it looked like I was at least putting in some effort pedalling.

If you are a man wearing proper cycling pants and don't bulge the heck out of it then I've got sad news for you.

Because I work with young kids in a mostly female environment this is the biggest reason I don't wear Lycra cycling shorts - the ever present 'Han Solo'.

Also, I set up aero bars on a very similar style bike a few years back and found them ill suited to a MTB with regards to the geometry of the bike. Do you have this issue?

To tell you the truth - I stopped caring because things like that come with sport and therefore its an appropriate appearance.
Now running around in those pants when not doing any sports would be awkward indeed.
Besides that, cycling with non tight anti-dickbulge pants sucks because when you're going fast its like you're wearing parachutes. Now that looks silly.

Its actually a trekking bike, not a real MTB, its somewhat lighter and the frame is more delicate. It has 0.8-inch tires at 100psi pressure, the handlebar is low enough to be comfortable for me. I always use the aero bars, even at the steepest inclines, I'm pretty wide and have lots of air resistance so the aero handle bars noticeably reduce the drag and the effects of nasty head wind. I have no problems doing 80 kilometers through mountainous terrain (tarmac) on those. Though I had to carefully adjust the angle of the handles.
Michael, you look like you came out of an early 90s action movie.
Good.
I would have been offended if you said that I look like I came out of a 20XX's action movie. :P
