Insta-ception.

My girlfriend took me to the island the day after my birthday. Hadn't been there in 11 years – so, conveniently, all of my 20's – so it was nice to be there again.

Good god Facebook just butchers image quality, don't they?

A 9 mile (or so) hike. Woke up at 3 A.M, raced to the trail head, got there at 4:30 A.M. I was the only person on the trail, at the time. Being there alone was relaxing. Just the rustling of leaves, flowing water, and a bit of moon/headlamp mixed light.

At one point I walked up on a 200 ft ledge. I considered sitting there until sunrise, but I got nervous after running my mind through the hypothetical "What if I fall off?"

(This is just me doing what I do best)

The little one left us a few years ago on this day which got me looking at some past photos. Studying away from home, this was one of my last visits with her, so she's looking old

Mutual friendship and trust captured in one shot 👍

Being one with nature, that's a nice thing to do sometimes. It's quite an emotional experience no matter what feelings you may have at the time, be it joy, melancholy, curiousness or exploration.
Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it was great, but one thing happened.

I forgot the mosquito repellent in the back of my car. I tried to keep moving and sat near the streams/creeks where they didn't pop up much.

What a bad mistake.
