Pirelli Porsche RSR Trophy Season 2 -Cancelled Due To Low Entries

Hello! New GT planet member here!!!

I'm very interested in joining a fun league and this looks just the ticket for me. I do have a few questions:
1. Is there a DR limit, I'm here for fun and close racing, (not fussed about winning,) so looking for players around A/A+ rank (although I'm by no means the fastest A rank going, I seem to have gotten here by consistency more than outright pace)
2. Your post says Fridays 10pm GMT however you've posted Saturday dates?? I do like compete in the fia's so i couldn't do both.
3. Reading through the comments I noticed you've had some heated debate around corner cuts and people abusing the "gentlemanly agreement" not to cut. Is this now resolved? Id rather not get into a race not knowing if cutting is going on or where the limits are. As above I'm used to the fia corner cut penalties and I use those as reference for learning the limits, do you run stricter/looser track limits and if so how do I determine whether I'm surpassing that limit before annoying others and then being given a penalty. I'm just trying to gauge how that works as I'm so used to the fia system and have no complaints with it in general.
4. I'd like to do as many races as possible but it is inevitable I would probably miss some due to work/family etc. Is that a major issue? If I was to enter as a part time racer, how do you fill the grids first come first serve or is there a waiting list etc

Also if anyone wants to add me feel free my psn is my username

Cheers

1. There's no DR limit. Drivers of all skill levels are welcome as long as they are able to race cleanly.

2. Races are definitely on Friday nights. I made sure to structure the calendar from the January 10th, 2020 start date.

3. Track limits are a thorny issue no matter which series you look at. The debate has been settled for the most part as most drivers that I've raced with know where the limits are. I will be posting screenshots leading up to races about where acceptable track limits will be.

4. Missing races is no major issue if you have personal commitments that night. That's why the sign up form includes declaration for full time or part time racing. Largely its first come first serve depending on who confirms for the night.

Is there going to be a practice lobby before the season gets going??

Welcome aboard. There won't be any official group practice lobbies before the season starts as everyone tends to practice in their own time. I may host my own practice lobbies from time to time.

Welcome to the series. 👍

I'm gonna give things a few more days hoping that at least a couple more people sign up, but right now things are looking shaky and I'm not confident of the potential attendance numbers

This looks interesting. But, all rounds apart from the first clash with my own Bridgestone Tour (starting 24th).

Are you OK with me running as a wildcard for the first round? As it's the only round I'd be able to enter, I'm happy to run as a non point scorer.

Unfortunately it seems the issue of low numbers is unlikely to be resolved in the next few days. I therefore have to make the painful decision to cancel the series in due course. I had high hopes of a successful return of the series, but it seems the interest from other parties is no longer there.

I do have to shoulder much of the blame for moving to a more unpopular time slot as I wasn't willing to compromise on Saturdays where leagues elsewhere had 2 weeks of racing and 1 week off.

Its extremely unlikely that this particular series will be revived under my control further down the line as I'm currently accelerating plans to move to racing on PC.

I understand some of you were excited for the season to start and I completely understand your frustrations. I put a lot of work in to organising this series and I'm gutted it wasn't able to get off the ground like it did for Season 1.

I deeply apologise for wasting everyones time.

No worries, mate.

Shameless plug, here. But, if you want to join the Porsche Supercup round of my Bridgestone Tour you're perfectly welcome. You're welcome to join for the whole season, if you want. Only real difference is locked settings, Bridgestone decals, and a much more casual nature.

It’s a tough time for people in the US. A lot of them won’t be off work by that time. I see a lot of series start at around 2:00 GST during the week. Maybe you could change yours to 21:00 GST and that might get some more interest. I know a lot of people like the Porches. Or maybe on Sunday before SNAIL starts?

It goes without saying, anyone who was interested in running this season, is more than welcome in mine. Dates are the same (99% sure, anyway) and we run an hour later.

It's a bit more of a ballache for liveries, as you'll need eight of them. But, other than that, you're all welcome.

Sad that it had to be cancelled but understandable. Best of luck in your other endeavors!
