Pismronounced Car Names

The name sounds Italian, so for me it should be: eempretzah.

Though this is debatable as it's made by a Japanese company and that's not the way it's written in Italian anyway.

Another one: Skoda is correctly written Škoda and is pronounced: shkoh-dah.
And a pretty obscure French manufacturer, "Aixam" (actually Aixam-Mega): ex-ahm.

There's also a certain German manufacturer that gets misread/misspelled pretty often: Wiesmann. It's not Weismann, nor Weissmann and it's pronounced: veezmahn.

Thread revival.

I don't usually mispronounce car names when speaking, but sometime I misread them. For example, I've read "Nissan Primera" as "Nissan Primavera" a handful of times (Primavera is Spring in Spanish).

Primavera is Spring in Spanish

And Italian. And Portuguese.

I have the same. Several times I've tried to order parts for a Primavera.

Edit!

To add to that, the same goes for the Almera, which in my book is called the Almeria, a city in Spain.

I'll be honest, when I first saw the KTM X-Bow, I pronounced the name as "Ecks-Bow" rather than "Crossbow". It wasn't until I read the car description in GT6 that I found out the design inspiration behind the car.

I used to do the same thing when I was younger. Just like "Volvo V70 Ecks-See" instead of "Volvo V70 Cross Country".

I refuse to call it the Crossbow. Nobody pronounces acronyms or abbreviations in car names like that, or we'd all be saying stuff like 'Subaru Impreza World Rallycross Subaru Technica International' or 'Mercedes-Benz Coupé Leicht Kompakt Fifty-Five Aufrecht, Melcher and Großaspach'. If they want people to call it that, they should've either called it the Crossbow in the first place, or gone all the way and told people to call it the Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen Cross-Bow, by which point hopefully they'd have realized what a stupid idea it is halfway through trying to pronounce it themselves.

I mispronounced the Huayra earlier. I called it Hayurah.
And I mispronounce Tesla purposely. I call it 'Tasli' - it means 'slap in the face' in hungarian.

I don't know how common it is, but I recall a rapper (50 Cent springs to mind, but that may be a result of my ignorance when it comes to rappers) referring to a particular car as a "Maybatch Benz." I did a search using that spelling (just a wag, so I thought) and found a staggering number of instances where that spelling is used [seemingly] unironically.
