I understand you guys want a change but do you have any idea what the rest of the world thinks of your new president!

Double posting so I could get a TOPP.

What the rest of the world thinks is not our concern kiddo, what is good for America is our concern. Go enjoy your cuck Trudeau now.

Ok, I guess I shouldn't have made a comment, but really Hazard, a little maturity eh! If your trying to strike a chord with me then you succeeded with Kiddo, I'm probably twice your age, kiddo!
I truly hope, for the sake of all living in the US, that this guy does make some changes for the good. But lets wait and see who's whining after a couple of years go by! And for the record, I didn't vote for the little **** that is trying to run our country!

Your right you should of kept your mouth shut, and just posted the points, probably the smartest thing I have ever heard/seen you say yet! :D

Maybe you should not have posted that picture to begin with, this is, after all, a world wide forum community, and by posting something political like that you have to expect something back.
Your last sentence stung, i am sorry I ever even replied.

I expected people to respond and I am fine with it, everyone is welcome to their own opinion, I am not trying to censor anyone. However, this is a two way street, and I will respond as well. Should I have posted that, eh, up for debate. I am excited, sorry for being patriotic. I only say these things to show how thin everyone's skin is, and how quickly I can get under it with minor trolling, everyone around here lately has become so serious and just need to lighten up. I like everyone here, now you guys may not like me, and that is fine, but lets not start splintering into separate little cliques who want to change the league when the rules don't benefit them, or play under the table politics. I am not calling anyone out specifically. I am only here to drive and have fun, that's it, but lately it is morphing into something that may cause serious tension down the road.

I know I'm not active and maybe my opinion doesn't mean a whole lot, but damn this thread has been ugly the past couple days. It's cool to have an opinion, but that doesn't mean it's always necessary to share it. The same could go for this post, I think this place has gotten a little too out of sorts recently.

I gotta chime in on this..... Hazzard, who pooped in your corn flakes this morning, jeez, what a grump. There is absolutely no room on this forum for political crap. Your boy is stepping out on the stage now looking smug as always. Nice hair. First lady looks yummy tho. Up here Trudeau got elected on his looks, he's so cute. I admit I voted for him only for pot law reform, he will be gone in a few years and we will have our own billionaire TV star Kevin O'Leary running the show. Him and Trump should get along well.

We are all f.....

Lobban, go take some more drugs and keep quiet. No wait, I am sorry, I am not censoring anyone, your right. I am a little grumpy right now, not enough coffee...

Just a minor issue...seems like we could finish by 11pm instead of 11:30pm. Starting at 9 we have 105 mins of actual racing. First race should be getting done by a tad after 10pm. Then another 45min race. There's a lot of dead time where I think everyone is ready to race but the conversation goes on. It's hard for some of us east coast old guys to hang sometimes :)

I think we are all veterans here...we can probably tighten the night up by at least 15-20mins I'm betting.
Ill start with this. I do think that we can shorten it up a bit. For this i was thinking maybe 5 mins between races then start the 5 min warm up to set pits then it will auto start @ 10 mins for the break between. Best ive got.

Are you guys dead set on the full damage setting? Getting tired of having my night affected by dumb stuff. I know we are "simulating" but unless it's your actual car on an actual track people will never drive like it was their car in the game. So lots of us suffer by driving half dead cars around due to some tickytack contact.

I like the GT6 damage setting where it only lasts a little while.

Just venting...hate losing because of "virtual" damage.
The full damage setting can certainly be a pain. When something happens that is not your fault and you incur damage it basically ruins your race. Last night in race 1 I had to go off track to avoid hitting someone who was on the brakes early. It caused me to spin and hit the wall. The damage and extra pit ect ruined my race. Race 2 at the start I spun out of second place and hit the wall again. As it is you get turned around and then wait for every car to go by so you are now in last place. To me, that is enough of a penalty, but I had to go to the pits to fix the damage and was then 1 1/2 mins down in last. My race was then done. I know in real life if you crash, at the start or whatever, your day can be over, but we do this for fun and when stuff happens like last night the fun is taken completely away. That's why I did a "half DP" and retired to the garage to sip on a whiskey and watch everyone else. At that moment it was more enjoyable than driving around in the back with no one to race with.
I too have had races ruined by damage caused by other people, it sucks. I would have bailed far sooner than you Steve.
How about that start in the first race? I lost 4 places in the confusion of having to restart or not. We should have restarted imo, not because of the dirty stinkin cheater we all know Sgeti to be jumping the gun, lol, but to establish a protocol in the future about what to do when there is that much uncertainty at the start. I heard the California surfer dude say, "I'm in first, no restart", by that time it took all of my awesomeness to finish middle of the pack where I belong.
It was a fun night of racing though until things got spread out, then it was just running clean laps. My best battle of the night was with Surfer Dude.....I kill myself sometimes.... we went a bunch of laps back and forth tilll I messed up and waved by by to his back bumper......till he killed his car, still beat me though.

As for restarts i will bring this up to the engineers for this series and get back to you guys. Personally unless its 2-3 drivers that get the boot at the start I'd say not to just cause of time. But this will be discussed further after i take it to the team.

Damage in this game can be brutal. I understand the frustration that you guys are having cause ive been there too. We all have. Then add in my crappy internet and get 30 mins into a 45 min race to disco. If we got rid of damage then people would complain that others that should've taken damage from a hard hit won. There will never be a happy medium. I am in the process of assembling a series off of the format we used in the last week of December. This willl be damage free and all about fun.
I look at the Wednesday series close to the old Sunday series on gt6. This is the closest to league competition that snail has on pcars as far as i know. So the damage here will remain. There may be room to talk about the severity but it will not disappear.

For the rest i will go post by post for the most part.

Well that just ruined the whole thread for today

I saw this as a joke post to hazard, on the forum with the drivers that we have there are always jabs back and forth. That's what makes it hilarious and fun to be part of this group.

Actually your whining about DAMAGE had already done that... :D

And response to said joke.

I understand you guys want a change but do you have any idea what the rest of the world thinks of your new president!

Double posting so I could get a TOPP.
What the rest of the world thinks is not our concern kiddo, what is good for America is our concern. Go enjoy your cuck Trudeau now.

We all know that there are mixed feelings with US President and apparently Trudeau. As adults if we are going to discuss this in a public place like here we need to be adults about the opinions that come with them.

Ok, I guess I shouldn't have made a comment, but really Hazard, a little maturity eh! If your trying to strike a chord with me then you succeeded with Kiddo, I'm probably twice your age, kiddo!

You shouldn't be stopped from commenting on your thoughts. That is how we can all grow as human beings. By taking in others opinions and comparing them to our own. Honestly though i thought that you were kinda joking about kiddo thing cause i know how mike lays into you. Haha.

Maybe you should not have posted that picture to begin with, this is, after all, a world wide forum community, and by posting something political like that you have to expect something back.
Your last sentence stung, i am sorry I ever even replied.

Again never be sorry for what you believe. Ask my wife, sorry is not something i really believe in. MOST of the time if you said or did something to say sorry for you still consciously meant to do it. (This does not include track incidents. Haha)

I expected people to respond and I am fine with it, everyone is welcome to their own opinion, I am not trying to censor anyone. However, this is a two way street, and I will respond as well. Should I have posted that, eh, up for debate. I am excited, sorry for being patriotic. MINOR TROLLING as hazard calls it is kinda his signature, (get good bro) It just happened that there are strong feelings for politics in this room so that was not so minor apparently.

We are all f.....

To sum up all of the remaining posts that are here or even ones that are not loaded cause ive spent so long typing, This is a race forum. We can get off topic from time to time, this i understand. But if you are looking for political debate im pretty sure there is a page even on gtp that you can go to. Let's bring back the old friendly ribbings and playful role playing. The political conversation from this post on either stops or is accepted by all. Since I don't see the latter happening we just need to change topics.

So unless anyone has anything to add to what I've said here, or we can all be adults and man up to the fact that it doesn't matter whether you like the decisions that have been made by this country or not that it is what is happening for the next few years. As aero said we'll see what happens in a couple years. Maybe things will change for better worse or just wont but it doesn't change s the fact that he's who is leading our country. We wont know where until we get there. There were positives and negatives to both options just like any election.

What did you do wrong besides try to add your usual bit of serene advice and experience. How dare you!
Haha......I mean I'll keep it zipped on politics, lol. I was apologizing (it's a Cdn thing remember!) for helping start the whole mess above. My original reply was tongue in cheek, but yes, Hazard pushed a button, not something people are usually succesfull with me, so one for Hazard

Here is my last post about damage...

I got bumped into the back of Zii at the beginning of race 2 and immediately got aero damage down to 70%.

I raced with the SRM guys the other night. Racing is just as serious, good and tight but I think their damage setting is visual only.

Like some have said, in what way does full damage make the series better and more fun? The racing is fun, serious and exciting for everyone already...until someone gets damage. Unless you are the beneficiary of people in front of you getting damaged...

Sunday night GT6 had damage but it was temporary. A ticky tack fender bender was just that. If you got punted into wall and the punter got away then we have the ability to file an IR. You lost some places but you got back on track able to race. But now the one who got punted is screwed for the rest of the race.

I won't make any more of a big deal about it. I think the point is there. We all know each other like a small family. Clean driving. **** happens accidentally...I don't see any upside to ruining anyone's races due to full damage being on. Losing 5 secs at least gives you hope you can catch the guy in front...driving around at half speed makes you want to quit the night (sometimes contemplating quitting the whole series), it never makes it more fun I can tell you that.

I have never said wow this so much better with full damage. My racing experience is either fun and damage free or damaged and frustrating. Take away the damage part and I think it becomes more fun more often.

Occasional accidents happen in races and at times because of the damage some people's races are negatively affected. If it's an occasional thing due to an accident then it should be easy to get over it quickly and move on to the next race. On the other hand if it happens often and is due to aggressive, impatient drivers in the first laps of a 40 minute race, THATS frustrating.
I'm always, no matter the game, for full real damage and finding the right racers to race with.

Full damage only increases the reality level to that of real life. It creates real consequences that one might see in real life. In is my opinion that the willingness to deal with this setting is what most separates the racers from the gamers. Now that's not meant to be derogatory in any way, but the truth is the guys that show up with the mindset of a racer is different. For them the allure is real racing against real people with real consequences. For them, that IS the fun. Then there are the guys that equally enjoy the real racing against real people, but only when there are minimal consequences of the actions of those real people. Like I said, that's not a bad thing, but it's just a matter of who enjoys what.

I like reality and if somebody else blows out and gives me a position, well, good for me.

Ok last last words :)

Therein lies the problem. Not everyone comes in with same mindset. If they did, there would be no accidents and joy to the world.

Unfortunately you can't restrict entry based on the kind of driver they THINK they are.

So...when you gain a spot you=happy. When your night ruined you=pissed off.

Your right and that's where I think the community function , league officials and penalty systems are suppose to step in. They're all there to aid in having all like minded racers. There is a possibility you could get tagged by a different driver every race but I'm thinking if we payed attention to these "punters" it would more than likely be 1 or 2 racers.
I also think the damage might be all that's keeping racers in check. I really am only here for fun, not heavy into practice and setups but I've raced a few nights now, usually always see at least one incident around me per race and have yet to see a formal penalty. Just an observation.

Edit : "for fun" IMO does not mean I'm come to the race without a care in the world "just here to have fun" cashes car "oops, sorry". I come in quite serious and ready to fight,(results don't show lol) I just have no care what my ultimate finish position is. I've had many a great race trying to finish second last:yuck:. ......been pretty bored as the leader as well a few times , seeing as I don't see a real pay check at the end.

That edit is probably the best definition of what racing for fun is.
That is also why I love watching any race, as long as there are battles, for any position.

And having the IR system and having people actually using it is probably one of the reasons why Sunday Night Series is still going strong (there are others). As User says, it's not "every night a different bumper", but it's usually the same few that do the bumping, so with a little IR action, it gets sorted.

On the political front, I'm not going to say anything, I'll let the master of communication say it for me.
that escalated quickly.jpg

I often wonder if sometimes guys kinda miss that there is more to adapting to Full Damage than simply giving room or braking earlier. A drivers' entire approach to passing/defending/chasing etc. has to become more conservative. How a driver weighs his situation against his abilities becomes far more crucial because an over estimation of ones' own talent will spell and end too ones night, as well as somebody else's. Full Damage employs an extensive amount of a drivers' mental fortitude that arcade settings do not simulate. Some thoroughly enjoy this challenge. Some do not.

But the bottom line is that if a series uses these settings it is up to each driver to learn how to adapt to it, no matter their preference. We all know what we're in for when we accept the invites.

You could not hit that nail any harder on the head. If there's no damage, or even just visual, what's to stop someone just "moving" people out of their way? When tire wear was taken out last season it took ALL of the pit strategy out of the night. And now it's stupid with 2 or 3 stops needed to keep the car under you. We started last season with a great rule set. 2x tire wear and full damage. If we go to 4x wear with no damage that would create a very conflicting rule set and settings. I'm just getting tierd of the rules being changed because of one person not liking them. If you don't like the rules then find a series that you agree with or make your own. I say we go back to last seasons settings. 2x tire wear and full damage. In closing, my message is this. Shut your pie hole and get good bro.

Being one of the slowest,or probably the slowest driver in this league I have been the victim of impatient drivers several times, and been the victim of my own inability several times, either way is frustrating, all I want to do is race with someone, don't care that it's for seventh or last,I could ride around by myself in practice if that's what I wanted to do.I do race here for fun,not to say that I don't take things very seriously when the green flag drops though.
As for my other post about the Good Racecraft Guide,I'm surprised no more reaction to that,I know I'm not the greatest racer, but just because I'm slower than most doesn't mean I don't have just as much right to fight for position just like everyone else,@Zii1993 always tells me I'm to nice letting people pass and get by,well from now on you're gonna have to fight for it,I will always race clean, but no more Mr.Nice Guy:cheers:

Alright, more power to ya Jax. I hate it when someone lets me pass easy, unless I'm in the lead. On the other hand, I have let faster guys by me too, I'll fight for position for a bit, it depends on who it is.
As for racecraft, I don't normally see an issue, I'm too busy staying up with the middle of the pack. We all make mistakes though, I bumblasted 2 guys the other night, spun them out, but waited for them to give back the position. I haven't needed to file any IRs. That spells clean racing for me
You should have heard Aero last night, he was wasted, we haven't giggled like that for a while.....I love being young and stupid.

Are you serious man?

No offense Mike, but you've been doing this thing long enough to have figured out how to not wreck people. Yes, accidents happen. Twice in a night with your reputation though? IR city bud.
