My PS4 seems to have some sort of glitch.

When I go into the system storage management the amount of free space keeps dropping as though I'm downloading or installing something but the other numbers stay the same. I know I have around 220GB free and I'm not using anymore space so I just don't know why it's happening! Anyone else have this?

It could be the recording feature. It's always on recording what your doing. Maybe as it stores the video it does it in chunks and the deletes that last say 5 minutes and the stores the next.

That's plausible but this is the first time I've noticed it and I've not saved a video from a game session in months so I'm not sure it's that.

It's always recording regardless of what you are doing. It temp saves it in case you want to save, if not it then deletes the temp data and free's up the space. If you go into a game that stops recording automatically when it does something specific (Dead or Alive free to play version) - go into where you can see the win/loss pose videos and you get a message saying that it stops recording whilst you are in that area of the game.
 
I managed to see the free space dwindle down to nothing and once it claimed it was full it went back to saying I had 221 GB of free space which is what I should have so it seems fine. Now I'm just having general internet connection issues, damn internet.
 
My PS4's light bar remains a solid blue after booting up (it'll flash as it's supposed to but then becomes full-on) and even after playing a game for a while. It never changes to white during operation, even when shutting down (instead it flashes blue instead of white) although it does properly transition to orange in Rest Mode. I'm not having any issues with the system such as random crashes or freezes, but I do know that isn't supposed to happen.

Anyone else encounter a similar problem, and how did you fix it?

On the plus side, I must say the solid blue looks cooler than the white, IMO.

Apologies for the lighting (or lack thereof, really) in my room. Lamps are for the weak.
 
My mistake, I thought y'all were refering to the light on the controller.
My console light is white while playing.

A quick google search finds it called the "blue light of death". But if you are having no issues with your system, it's quite odd that you would be seeing it.

I thought that as well as I was about to ask if Eks was playing Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, as that game changes the colour of the light-bar according to the weapon you have equipped.

As it's the console light itself, I never notice that as I have it parked over on the right and so never see the console light. I hope it works out @Eks
 
So 3.0 update look like it's coming soon and sony revealed some of the details and the update looks ok. Only three things I like is the YouTube live, favorite friends, and communities. Everything else is either ok or just stuff I don't care about. Where are the folders, when a friend comes online, the ablity to set wallpapers from in game images and etc.... These and some other features are the most requested and sony yet to release these. Hopefully when we get the full list of details these things are listed. Also I want more to work with on share factory. I'm looking forward to this update but hopefully it doesn't turn out to be disappointing. From what it looks like so far it look like it is.

Bit of a newbie question, but does anyone know if the PS4 comes with a PS Plus trial period when bought new? I'm in the UK if that helps.
Have some time off work, battlefield 4 and a PS4 but no money to purchase a subscription just yet, so if it does come with a trial i would like to activate it so i could get the most out of it. many thanks

It should do, you should get a voucher code when you buy one new.
 
Also a newbie question:

Is it possible to use a picture I made as a background? I loved putting Gt6 pictures on my background on ps3, but I can't seem to do that with my project cars pictures.

You can't do that as of yet, but I imagine they're working on implementing that.
 
Yeah, to cut costs they removed lots of the 'media' elements of the console and have swapped strategies with MS. In a way I wish the PS4 was more expensive and had some of the features of the XB1.

At TGS they are launching new controller and faceplate colours...

Also the PS4 has got a price cut in Japan putting it much cheaper than the EU and US price. It's now ($292/€258) over there!
 
Hmmm, the PS4 looks good. The Matt color goes well with the Orange. The DS4 though, I feel it doesn't work as well with that color.
 
Can someone tell me, are all these special edition console designs actually printed on (Tampo Printed) or is it just some vinyl sticker applied in the factory?
