PlayStation 5 Games Reveal Event Confirmed for June 4

But somewhat surprising coming from a parent company based in a country so racist, it would rather go extinct, than change their immigration policy.

Not at all. The move to California was with the intent to prioritise focus on the US gaming market over the Japanese market. Hence, actions like this one are unsurprising and have become more common during the latter half of this console generation
Besides, what does Japanese being xenophobic towards ALL foreigners have to do with this?

Activision delayed Call Of Duty: Warzone's Season 4 launch and the Warzone subreddit is a bunch of crying babies.

The thing is - some people are still under the quarantine and have nothing to do.
I'm in that boat. It sucks. There are other things to play. It's really the smallest of problems relatively speaking right now. People are saying we should have video games to escape (we do, play a different one), but the proper response to that is that this is a conversation that shouldn't be escaped right now. If you have a way, get involved. If not, stop complaining and deal with it the best way you can. I barely care about current events and politics and what not but I genuinely feel like going to a peaceful protest if there's one in my area.

I don't feel strongly about many things but something like this, agreeing with the fight against police brutality in even the smallest amount is more than enough to let people know it.

Because people were looking forward to it.

Delays seem like a poor excuse due to cancel culture crowd.

Pc at its best.

Ahh yes, so everyone is just supposed to put up with police continuing to murder civilians?

That damn "cancel culture crowd" getting out of control and ruining the fun again I see

I get support.
I get donations/crowdfundings etc. to communities and organisations.
I get why shooters/violent things may be postponed.

But lets be honest - for companies it is a cheap PR. You get free exposure by literaly doing nothing.

It does nothing to the cause.

I also get it that if they would ingnore it - they would get hate.

They could have announced it before hand instead of delaying it in the last minute pissing everybody off.

While I respect their decision to delay the announcement, at this rate leaks are inevitable now seeing what already happened to TLOU2

Sony’s biggest fear is most likely getting lost in the news and social media feeds with their event right now.

Personally think that holding the event and starting with a strong message in support of BLM would have been the way to go.

You run the risk of hurting the cause and directing anger at the protesters imo.

I am just disappointed.

Yes the world has some serious issues right now but why not brighten up our days with positive things?

And they even do not tell a new reveal date.

Sorry - but this whole stuff is ridicolous right now.
Daily they find new excuses to move / cancel or postpone stuff.

Maybe the ps5 console is all white, with no black option (which I'd be very disappointed with) and they think they may be accused of being racist because of it

Pretty big exaggeration... anyway.

Sony revealing the PS5 is a big deal not only for us, but also for them.

Of course they want as much attention as they can get. Announcing anything during a global pandemic is already challenging, but revealing the PS5 on the same day the memorial service for George Floyd is held is a safe way to lessen your impact.

I know it sucks, but from a business standpoint it makes sense.

Expect the delay to be short (probably days not weeks) because manufacturing starts right about now and leaks are unavoidable.

I’m confident that Sony will make sure that they will be the ones to show us their new box and not some worker at Foxconn with a blurry cellphone pic.

Right decision from Sony to postpone the event. We will await greatness later :)
Hope Sony don't make the same mistake MS did with their last "gameplay" event, in that we see a substantial amount of stuff and hopefully the console itself.
Yoshida said the show is approximately one hour long and we have seen the Xbox Series X design months ago. The issue with the Xbox event were the expectations and that the AC gameplay was awful.

The base Modern Warfare subreddit is also a dumpster fire currently. It's truly remarkable how hostile people get when an update (meaning the base product is still very much usable) to a very non-essential service is delayed.

There was never going to be peaceful protest. Any protesting should have been stopped from the
There have been many many peaceful protests. However, some have escalated as the result of protestor's rage spilling over into destruction, some have escalated due to police brutality against protestors.

It's so ironic that these multi billion dollars corporations like Sony love to talk about EQUALITY, BLACKLIVESMATTER and all that stuff. When they have a freaking sweatshops in China and child African workers living in poor conditions with minimal wages mining for the component of their products. Nothing pisses me off than corporations virtue signal for easy publicity. These people are freaking lazy, they never care about black lives or equality.

Lets keep in mind that, even if, say, Sony so heartless that they doesn't care about current events and happenings, its still a bad idea to announce new product. / Playstation because any of those will quickly overshadowed plus the tone deafness of it will have detrimental effect on the bottom line in the end.

Most (normal) people will care about real life catastrophe than some gaming delays.
