PMC - Week 145 - Poll?
Well anyways, I hope you guys could understand what the theme is aiming for. Since the Le Mans race is just around the corner (in just under 24 hours!) I just thought it would be kinda cool to make a theme like this. Try to make the shot almost as if it was the actual Le Mans race! :D

As for the cars, you should already know which car was in Le Mans. ;)

For any questions regarding the theme, just shoot me a PM.

:( I'm too poor to afford a Le Mans car.Good luck to everyone else. Can't wait to watch the Le Mans race. :D

:odd: I believe you can enter the endurance races with pretty much any car? Or arcade mode?

Cool. But I'm a noob with all this. How do you take a pic. of a different car or of multiple cars?

You can:

Go to arcade mode > have a spin or two with the car you chose > Save the replay > Go to Simulation Mode or Gran Turismo Mode > Replay Theatre > Play Replay > Take some snaps from there.

From the Gran Turismo mode > enter a race > save replay > replay theatre > Take some snaps.

if only GT4 had real-time (based off the console's internal clock), a dusk-night time shot would've worked out really nice.

I agree; i don't think ANY racing games do that.. but it would be coolness :D

There were tones of games (well I only knew 2) for Sega Dreamcast that had night/day cicle. There was one named 24 Hours Le Mans that had a race that was 24 hours (with saving in pit box (and A-SPEC)) that had night to day cycle and different weather.

Another game was Metropolis Street Racer, that had real time engine. The tracks were always at London, San Francisco and Tokyo, and the time of day vary with the time zones.
For Example: You are in Portugal, it is 11.00 am, in London is also 11.00 am and you would see daylight; In San Francisco it is still night and in Tokyo I think it is evening so it appears like that (evening or night). Also it had different weather effects like rain, fog, thunder and the graphics were absolutely amazing. You could see from the back side view (where you see the back of the car (like in GT) the driver changing gears and driving accordantly. It was amazing 👍

Another game was Metropolis Street Racer:

Which later becomes Project Gotham Racing. ;)
Also, there are many sim racing games which has day/night and constant changing weather. Yeah, I have played the PS1 version of Le Mans, it was awesome. 👍 But never got the chance to play the PS2 version (and was never sold here :()

So anyways, the race is going to start soon, hope you can get some inspiration from the race and make something! :D

they had night/day cycles, but not any that were based on an actual 24 hour day... based on YOUR location.

I think I didn’t explain correctly. MSR had a 24 hour cycle based on your location.

The day/night time spectrum during gameplay is realistic, in that the game uses the internal clock of the Dreamcast to calculate the present time in each city. Play at 8AM in England, for example, and the San Francisco races will all be at night.

I don't know if PGR has the same feature has MSR, though.

if only the spoiler was a red one.. i absolutely dislike that shade of yellow :yuck:

Thanks everyone. I was really in doubt of submitting that image, but it really grabbed my attention.

Well. I see your point, and I also prefer the red one, and it would combine with the red stripes of the airplanes.
But I think it wouldn’t had such a big impact on the image, since the yellow makes a great contrast with the blue sky.

I suppose... but i still think red would be better, even contrasting with the blue. :dopey:

I'll enter this:

FINAL ENTRY!

.

BTW: Since it's a photomode comp, IMHO, there shouldn't be any PS allowed at all. but that's me.
Thats why we have the un-edited comp mate.

those rules are very minor and easy to do (with practice), and change a pic drastically.

Well the entry is set. I won't go back on it now.

5 minutes after posting that, i noticed the unedited comp. will enter the next one of those too. I consider myself not bad at the "Au Natural" method of photomode in GT

RJ is right man, it does shine. with a little brightness/contrast, it would really stand out. I do love the action in that shot though...👍

The poll usually opens "a week" after the original competition opens (and noted by the host of the competition posting "Competition closed" in their particular competition thread), exact dates and information are usually listed in the first post of a particular competition. Typically as I've seen, the contest(s) are usually open a few days more than a week due to lack of entries. Personally I'm glad to have another competitor...the more the merrier. More competitors means more entries as well. Glad to have you on board.

Thank you muchly. Can't complain about the site, nor the competitions. But that stuff is good. I've looked over some of the past polls/photos/winners. It's a well defended title.
