Pokémon GO: Catch 'Em All in the Real World

Pokemon Go streamer got swatted the other day, not sure if this so much has to do with the game or just the cesspool twitch harbors at times. To be honest I do feel the game makes it easier to swat people since their in the open when streaming.

Basically a really tasteless prank that can give a jail time regardless of what games you are.

Probably NSFW language contained.

But amusing nonetheless.
I have no idea what the point in this line of posts is about to be honest. Waste police resources and potentially put someone in danger who is just streaming is far from amusing. Nor do I see the point of you posting to begin with to my initial information in regards to a Go streamer being swatted.

The worst part of the game is that most of the pokemon are located within the cities. A waste of potential if you ask me.

I wouldn't say within the cities, I would say more within the metropolitan areas. Like LA, NY, etc.
I am in a city and there are the same ones over and over.
Just getting stale for me. Just wish it was August 8th so then the next day I get No Mans Sky.

I'm just outside of NYC and there are specific locations for nests. I can find where the nests are just by figuring out rates of appearance.

Went to the beach, I was told there was a daily gathering somewhere near. Wasn't hard to find it, easily over 200 people were sitting at one place on the ground playing it. Got around 70 Pokemon in like 1,5 hours sitting there.. And pretty nice ones too, not your average Pidgey..

Went a 14km hunt today, very successful. Found a few I was looking for and leveled up twice.

Did a 519 raticate with one great ball and one razz.
Color of the ring was red too. So I don't know how I managed to do 1 for 1.
Maybe I curved it just right and it worked?

Also it's still getting to the point where just about every gym around here has a snorlax as the main one. 1700 cp+ too.
Most are blue I did find 2 that were yellow but still had a 1500 CP and a 2100 CP snorlax.

Edit: Managed to do a quick small farm run, (Basically just to Screen shot it) took down a gym solo again with my rainer. (1116) Flareon was at 1500 So I was good.

Would say it's "not your mother's pidgey"?

I really shouldn't laugh at this, but I lost it when I saw the officer looking at the guy's screen, and it goes "$1.00 by F The Police"!

Finally.

When you lock your phone, does that turn off the game in the background as well?

The game is rather bugged on my Huawei P8 phone it seems. I thought I could just go for a walk, start the game, lock my phone, and just stop whenever the game notified me of anything. Half of the time the game either seemed to have lost GPS connection whenever I locked the phone, or the map froze when I maximized it again, making me having to restart the game.

Seems a bit daft having to constantly look at the damn screen like a retard while walking. What makes a walk pleasant when I cannot even look where I'm going :dopey:

New app update.
Removed the footprints.
Changed some damage on some.
So enjoy.

If you go into your settings, you can tick the 'battery saver' option, which makes the app go in stand-by when you move your phone downwards (as if to put it in your pocket), meaning the screen goes black (except a faint image of the Pokemon Go logo), but the game still runs and vibrates when there's something nearby. Locking your phone will stop the app running though, I think.

I can't believe that the tracker hasn't been fixed yet, it's probably the most important part of the game. :banghead:

Then they removed the footprints, making it almost useless now. Where Pokevision is looking more useful, when the CEO wants to change that.

I felt bad though. It can risk their lives. Its just the time moves on and all guys listed in the video are fine and not guilty for now.
What is that supposed to mean? For now?

At 1:53, I happen to follow him and his group (The Creatures), and caught that live. That incident took place in an office building they pay rent for, and the person who caused this mess claimed to be Jordan, reporting himself as an active shooter with multiple victims.
Officers were searching the office buildings at West Mineral Avenue and Broadway after a report of an active shooter was phoned in but found no evidence of a shooting. They now suspect this was a false report and are searching for the person who used a landline phone to call in the hoax.

"The caller claimed to have shot two co-workers, held others hostage, and threatened to shoot them. He stated that if the officers entered he would shoot them as well," the Littleton Police Department said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.
This whole incident not only had the entire building evacuated, but nearby schools & other businesses were placed on lockdown. For those who know US history, Littleton, Colorado is next to Columbine, CO, and the swatting took place around 10 minutes from the infamous high school shooting.

Jordan may be fine these days and even have a joke cracked about it at his expense, but it did do irreversible damage to their relationship with the other businesses there. So, it's a bit shocking you found it amusing or that everyone just moved on.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned. Are you ready for the next hit game, Pokemon Go to the Polls?

Update has released. Key points:

1. The app will warn you various things on start.

2. Several Pokestops are removed by requests. Such as Holocaust museum.

3. Battery saver feature has been removed for being practically useless. May come back soon.

4. Footprints is temporarily removed. Now it only shows pokemon nearby without telling at what distance. Though tbh its broken in the first place.

5. Pokemon spawn locations has been altered and websites that shows all pokemons in the world has been banned

6. Now you can customize your character whenever you want. Previously it was only for start.

7. Balancing improvement. App are also much stable, faster, and hopefully more saving battery.

Getting rid of the foot steps instead of fixing them irks the hell out of me. Pokevision and the like was a nice way around that, and I can understand Niantec's reasoning to get rid of them, but the footsteps eased a lot of the trouble of trying to find the Pokemon.

Also don't like the people on Reddit making enough complaints about how using a Razzberry causes a couple balls to just curve. Or that low level Pokemon become just as difficult to catch as high level Pokemon all just because you're a high level trainer. I've experienced both of these on numerous occasions, esp. the latter. How the hell a lower level Bulbasaur gonna break out of as many Pokeballs as my CP 600+ Magmar I just caught? Even if the Bulbasaur has a green ring and Magmar has a orange ring? That **** is broken too, and if Niantec's way of dealing with these bugs is just getting rid of the features broken by them, I won't have a lot more patience for this game much longer.

Edit* Great quote.
As Yang C Liu, one of the creators of Pokévision, stated in a Tweet:

You don't invent Marco Polo, get 80M players to join, then remove the Polo part and expect people to keep playing.
