i would agree that a GTPSP type cockpit is better than none. and im sure if they did do it that way then it would look a lot smoother than that of the psp of course. i think a lot of people are scared about this but what they need to realize is that so much work is being put into this game and there is plenty of information yet to be revealed. i would think that it would be an extremely hard task to model 1000+ cars to the detail of every stitch on the wheel or every knob and switch on the wheel or center console. so i do not ask them to do that for all 1000+ cars. all i ask is for at least a blacked out interior like gtpsp that would make my experience all the more worth while and since its already in gtpsp for 800+ cars they should be able to do it for ps3. and if they do not well it wont matter to me because the game is going to be great and i know im going to enjoy it whether it be from a cockpit of a "premium" SuperGT car or a "standard" toyota MR2 or even the bumber cam. the game is coming and people gotta stop nit picking every little thing or "clue" and have patience to wait and see. if we have patience and stop blowing everything out of proportion then we will set ourselves up for some great times with the finished product. however if everybody pokes at every little "clue" from every little rumor that starts then you are going to set yourselves up for a disappointing realization... and that my friends, would only be fault of your own. so please let time go forth and only then would we be able to see the magnitude of PD's great accomplishment.

I cant race without a Cockpit view... it feels so much better then a bumper cam... Seriously, how can anyone call himself petrol head without using the Cockpit view in Gt5P?! ;)

My vote is NO, I won't settle for anything less than the real thing after 5+ years of waiting.

How many will be racing without a gun threat on the standart cars like GTPSP cockpit view after beeing spoiled with the 200 Premium cars, NOT ME!

If GT5 comes out with more than 800 Crappy cars without a real cockpit or the bad graphics quality as seen on videos than GT5 isn't even a halfass of a game maybe 1/4 of it. I'm not paying for a game that's been in development for over 5 years and only get 200+ cars, about 90 of them are allready from Prologue and 10 Nascar(Not intrested att all). So,that's leaving me with a Premium Cappuchino :yuck:

KY let all of us believe that he is a Genius a Perfectionist of some kind. GT5 sure doesn't sound or look like a a great racing game.
GT R.I.P.

Forza 3 may not be as good as the 200 cars from GT5 but they are not that bad either as some would like them to be. All 500 cars have cockpit interriors and cockpit cams,Porsche, damage, Online, livery editor, customisation aso.

i agree. but i think i can live whit the less detail in standard cars. but i can't live whit the cars don't having cockpit view. i can't let it go. it means that much for me. Agree, gt5 could be bad. but you have to play the game to know.

I prefer generic cockpit view, with a simple (racing?) cockpit with a generic wheel (a g25 copy maybe :)), generic mirrors (they are still very important) and windows.
No cockpit view, no simulation, in my opinion

200 simulation cars, 800 non-simulation cars

Less detail in standart cars would be o.k. but if it comes like this there isn't any detail att all 👎

I'm just very angry because I didn't expect this.I hope we get a decent cockpit on all cars with details and maybe a little bit better graphics on par with the Premium cars.

@danielwhite74
Maybe they weren't finished with the damage modelling for the 458 or they locked the damage on that race.I sure hope you're right though.

Look at this part of an article from the Official PlayStation Magazine:

Well yeah, it is in other threadS becuase ... because ... THERE ARE DOZEN OF THEM regarding standard vs. premium ...

I hope the magazine is right Tomaz, if not than I'll be keep dreamin of a GT6 where every announced car is Premium and enjoy live on other racing games until that time.

The magazine is evidence that PD have led us on, that is all. Remember when that same article stated that the Indy Racing League was confirmed as fully licensed, like NASCAR is?

The stuff about the IRL makes it void as a source, because the people who wrote the article were not involved in the games development, at all.

Im not trying to justify what they have or have not done , but even if they did put a psp style as the cockpit view try watching the video Racer3x posted and see how many times you take your eye off the track just to look at the interior .

Never has it been said that cockpit view wouldn't be included in the game for standard cars, only that standard cars wouldn't have "interior view". That means that when a premium car gets heavily damaged you may get to see the internals of the car from the outside like the engine and whatever. Possibly cockpit view might not be available in standard cars. However if anyone can find a good source for this I'll be happy to know and sad it's true.

I wouldn't be very sad though. I believe rooftop view will be included and I realy loved that in GT4.

Cockpit view is very important.
1- it connects you to your car. The illusion of driving the thing is superior to bumper car.
2- It improves the sense of acceleration, braking, speed, bumps, and vibrations. The cockpit view is not an inanimated mask: it moves subtely, even on gtpsp!

The first aspect cannot be substituted with black cockpit. Second aspect can be with a nice hood view. NFS Shift has a very good hood view.

totally agrees!!!

The sooner PD ditches standard cars the better.

They've been included because they knew they'd be slated if GT5 only had 200+ cars.

Cockpits are only one benefit of premium cars.

It would be a waste of resources to model cockpits for standard cars as all will need to be re-modelled as premium cars eventually if they are to take advantage of body deformation and upgrades.

It's time people backed PD's move to simulate cars as realisitcally as possible with premium models.

Quality over quantity.

So you'd rather GT5 be GT3 in terms of cars? GT3 had much fewer cars, but many of the makers themselves made it back for GT3 from GT2. GT5 having only 200 Premium cars and NONE of the Standard ones mean the car selection will be flawed and get old very quick. You SURE you want that?

Yes, I would want that instead of what we are (apparently) getting.

GT series has, above all other things, stand out because of it's visuals. Even PD and KY do state this very clearly everytime they can. In such a game, to have two levels of visual quality cars + only one of the levels being able to deliver an inside point of view is, in my opinion, a big failure and a tremendous contradiction to the series legacy. Therefore, in that perspective, and although I do agree that 200 cars might be a somewhat narrow range of choice (although most people won't ever drive them all), I do consider that having premium cars only would be the right step to take regardless of how low the car count might be due to it.

Yeah I agree. They should add more premium cars but I think we should have cockpit view too in standard cars too.

GT6 will probably have more 200-300 premium cars, with everything else improved from GT5 in couple of years I think

If you want my opinion this interior thing is really annoying all people are saying is i wont drive the standard cars etc why dont you look at the good things like the online stuff and many other things and the cockpit view will probably be like prologue and another thing unless you want GT5 to be on 3 - 4 discs it will be impossible to get full modled interior for 1000 cars it doesnt bother me and please look forward to the better things about gt5 and besides as somebody said earlier it makes the premium cars that little bit more special
