There has been a lot of debate about B-Spec, and I'm interested in the spread of players. The how and why do you play it.

Personally, I did B-Spec to get the X2010 at 35, because I'm not a good enough driver to pass the Vettel challenges, and the delay while you wait for his ghost to leave the pits is unbearable. I have no desire to get to level 40 for B-Spec.

The poll options are a best guess.

I did it because there was some decent prize cars to be won (Zonda R) and I needed the cash. But yes, its kind of silly to be watching AI drive when I could be actually PLAYING the game.

I'm doing it for the sake of getting to 100% game completion.

After I've gotten all the trophies, like getting a Bob to lvl 40 and such, I probably won't ever touch B-Spec, but to only let my virtually buddy grind the Dream Car Cup for credits for me.

Like Welsh-Fury said, for 100% game completion, also for the money & the prize cars. Mostly for the prize cars, I am after attaining every single unique car in the game that can be obtained through normal play, am at over 840 unique cars now so not that many left to go. Not sure I want to get to lvl40 but I will eventually, no rush.

For the sake of getting the prize car, at 1st it was the GT by Citroen, now I'm on to B.spec lv.40 because i want to get the colors X2010.

I do it partly for the cars and money but also if I'm playing GT5 and need a break from racing I will put B-Spec Bob in an X1 and go watch a movie. ;)

Can't pass up free money and exp.

I like watch my Bob racing while i can't. and OF COURSE i want to have 100% AND all cars. The credits i earn this way will help with that to ^^

For myself the credits in Bspec are pants, richer and faster pickings in Aspec - but credits have never been a problem in GT5 and the seasonal events put that one permanently to bed.

Game completion is the only reason, a few very nice prize cars are a little bonus that we deserve for actually playing Bspec in the first place even though they are easily obtainable anyways.

As of 6pm tomorrow... no more Bspec in GT5... ever again. :D

I do it for the credits, exp and the prized cars. Even though, the prized cars sucks sometimes. So mainly credits, so I could buy the cars I want.

Also, for the signature edition competition, which I havent had the time to run recently. To busy at work.

I do it for the SLS challenge. I'm a programmer and by playing b-spec and observing the variations I can analyse the game engine and decypher the game mechanics. I removed my last post on this subject because people were afraid of losing their edge if others read what I wrote, so I think I've nailed it (the mechanics, not the SLS! ;)).

I think we will see a lot more b-spec challenges in future, though we might have to wait until gt6. This game is One Mans dream and this man likes b-spec a lot. He made us wait while he developed it (it was 50% of the development time and is 50% of the game).

There's a close relationship between the a-spec AI and the b-spec Bobs. It's probably a small step to combine the two in future releases. Imagine racing a-spec against other peoples' b-spec, or tweaking the AI players as we do Bobs.

The in-game b-spec only reveals a subset of its potential. The SLS Challenge is another thing entirely (b-spec time trials).

I love it.

Hmm, this has been moved to a sub forum which I believe is a bit wrong because people who are into B Spec will read that forum, however people who still play it (ie, with the tv off) may not see this thread as they have no interest in discussing the gameplay.

I think this is the right place....You'd have to word your thread title differently and make your poll a-spec/b-spec to keep it where is was.

1st option.

Always been intrested in team management, the game shows that the more time you put into your driver and more rewarding he will become. I was watching my 2nd best driver last night race in the NASCAR series and I was nearly glued to the TV. He was driving the thing like he'd raced it all his life. He past someone around the outside of a corner and dived straight up the inside of another 2 in the next corner.

All I've left in the extreme series is the FGT Championship and the Dream Car. The Dream car is easy enough but I'll try and take out the FGT tonight with one of my top three. And I'll happily guide them to yet another 6 victories in that series and unlock the Dreamcar fro tomorrow night

I did it for the credits and the cars. I'm all finished B spec but continue to spam the Dream Car event for credits. A great way to support my ever growing car collection.

Be honest now did someone actually watch their Bob go through an endurance?
9h Tsukuba maybe? I'd rather spend the day at work or doing whatever else, i just think it's a huge bore.

When i get home today , i will finally get to lv 35 in B spec and get the Red Bull car .

Had to do the 9 hour race 6 times with the fgt to get there .

Right now i do not have the time to put into trying to win one .

I used to use B-Spec on GT4 for championship races on tracks I wasn't fond of while I did the rest and the endurance races on fast forward.

Separating it in GT5 has made it redundant. Ask the majority of people why they play GT5 over any other racer and the answer that comes back time and time again is the feel, the way it comes so close to the feeling of driving. You don't get that watching it play it self.

Game completion, a few prize cars, colored x2010, watching races, not watching races, extra credits, addicted to RPG elements.

I might do it all again on my second account when the play anywhere thing comes out.

Haha, I'm the first one to choose the RPG/watch the race one! :) I'm over imaginitive and like seeing my drivers as actual persons. Played D&D as a kid, etc.

I watch the race, but I'm also doing housework, updating my website, eating dinner too at times.

Role playing game, eg, World of warcraft, Diablo etc. Something where you have experience and levelling.

Probably a couple of poor poll options - sorry bout that.

Thanks. The truth is that I'm not much of a gamer, in fact Gran Turismo is the _only_ game I play. I play b-spec just to get cash and cars.

My main reason is to get more cars and cash. I have voted that I like to get involved though as I do in the smaller races but since hitting the endurance races I just let Bob loose in the FGT and watch T.V instead.
