Haha, I'm the first one to choose the RPG/watch the race one! :) I'm over imaginitive and like seeing my drivers as actual persons. Played D&D as a kid, etc.

I watch the race, but I'm also doing housework, updating my website, eating dinner too at times.

Bob turns corner, fails save throw, ends in wall! Damn halfling driver can't reach the brake pedal.

Where is the "I'm too drunk to do A-spec" option?

Hah by the time I realise this, I'm too drunk to use the menu to get to B-Spec :).

Guess that would be "other" on the poll.

Perhaps he's too drunk to use the poll.

I'm sort of "all of the above"

I want money, I like watching the races (I watch replays a lot and it's nice to get paid for them), I want to get 100% completition, I like leveling up in games, I want the prize cars, and so on. But at the same time, sometimes I just want to skip watching the race (a Viper ACR in the Beginner series is clearly going to win) so I can just get my money. However, I rarely play B-spec.

But since I've learned some of the prize cars you can get, I think I'll start doing it more

I've a 4 month old son so in the evenings when he's awake I can still earn credits and xp while all I need to to do is check every few minutes and maybe press a button or two. Not easy to race with a baby on your lap grabbing the wheel!!

I play b-spec for game %/completion. I participate sometimes, other times I make a sammich or go out for a cigarette(don't smoke it's bad.)

i watch mostly every race and also give orders to bob.

until i unlock the Enduros i used to pick the best car and get an easy win but on all Enduros i try to use a very competitive car (try a Focus ST with 317hp on 300km Grand Valley ^^) so i can enjoy the race :)

Here comes the ogre in the SLK. Rolls a triple damage with his thrown rock, but the black wizard (me) makes the saving throw and deflects the rock, saving the elf from oblivion with his "Reverse Missles" spell.

Do you realize that your avatar is a picture of a character from a classic RPG?

No, I did not know that. Which game and character? I chose it to go with my tag which is the name of a 19000 year old golem in a Terry Pratchett book.

I do it to grind to an easy million credits to purchase cars. The dream car champ takes a little over an hour. I use the money to get to 1000 cars as fast as possible. There is no other reason for it. I plan to do the final 24 hour race once I get to it and then focus on tuning and having fun.

I do it for the money, prizes, and for the sake of completion. I just wish the races weren't longer than those in A-spec.

As soon as I bronze Suzuka in the X2010 challenge, I'll get that beast of a car, hand it to my drivers, and maybe they'll speed things up a little.

Well, seems to be pretty interesting stats so far.

I figure the responses to this would also be biased as they are in the BSpec sub forum too.

This should speak volumes to PD if they ever bother looking at it (need another million or so votes tho :)).

Prize cars and credits pretty much. Hardly ever use the prize cars, but always use the credits :)

It's good cause I'll let the driver race me into the money while I watch TV. Quick way to save for cars, plus I never have to worry about holding back when tuning.

I do It so I can take breaks from playing, I play way too much. I also like to keep heat cycling to a minimum so B spec gives me an excuse to leave my PS3 on for hours or even days on end.

I never played B-spec in GT4.., and I wasn't planning on doing it in GT5. However when I learned that B-spec would win me the Mazda Furai so I could race the "Like the wind"event, I started a career. I got the Furai al while back.., but now I want Bob to win me the F40. I'm lvl 13 now.., so just a few more races. I do watch the races when I'm doing other stuff in my house.., and sometimes they are amusing.

My B-spec level higher than my A-spec level. even I not 'play' the b spec much. just leave bob drive by himself. he no longer need babysit.

Credits
i dont duplicate nor have i done the birthday glitch, I have bid and won a few DLC cars on ebay because I have kids to put to bed and no time to sit in a playseat for hours and grind to numbness in the rear..............................

Dont need many cars but I do enjoy modding and tuning and credits go fast when you are doing that.:ouch::scared::crazy:

I knew I'd seen it before ;-) Wonder what a Bob-golem's 'little piece of paper' would have written on it? (You know, the instruction stuck in their heads).

I do it for the SLS challenge. I'm a programmer and by playing b-spec and observing the variations I can analyse the game engine and decypher the game mechanics. I removed my last post on this subject because people were afraid of losing their edge if others read what I wrote, so I think I've nailed it (the mechanics, not the SLS! ;)).

I think we will see a lot more b-spec challenges in future, though we might have to wait until gt6. This game is One Mans dream and this man likes b-spec a lot. He made us wait while he developed it (it was 50% of the development time and is 50% of the game).

There's a close relationship between the a-spec AI and the b-spec Bobs. It's probably a small step to combine the two in future releases. Imagine racing a-spec against other peoples' b-spec, or tweaking the AI players as we do Bobs.

The in-game b-spec only reveals a subset of its potential. The SLS Challenge is another thing entirely (b-spec time trials).

I love it.

Pretty much my thoughts... Over the last 25 years as a games developer, racing and racing AI in particular, have always been a massive fascination. When Superbike 2001 came out, it had AI that was way beyond anything out there, and I used to spend hours just sitting and watching the nuances of the AI decision making.

GT5 AI isn't perfect, but it still displays those little moments that make you smile. From the other side of the fence, racing AI is tough, really tough... but if you're into it, it's mesmerising to watch.

I love sitting and watching the races, having my own bit of input, deciding which personality is right for the car and track. I've spread my AI drivers over the whole range of driver styles, so I pick them depending on the race demands. It's fun, it's enjoyable, and (for me anyway) hugely addictive. The prize cars seem to be crap concepts, the money is a bonus, but I'd play it if it had neither of them.

The truth is

How....I don't know!
Why....to justify the £150 pricetag.

I'm at least 6 seconds off the lead in each race in the regional challenge (for 5 laps that's a disgrace ) and I just can't see where more than 2 of those seconds is going to come from...:grumpy:

Dragon Warrior, it's a Goldman. Classic game, got it for free with a subscription to Nintendo Power in the 4th grade. Loved RPG's ever since.

Generally I just set it up with a fast car and let it run as a way of grinding.

However, when I do participate with a competitive (not run-away) car I've found it as engrossing and exciting in its own right as A-spec. It really puts you in the mind-set of being the team manager chewing his nails in the pits watching his drivers and sending instructions and advice. You also get a handle on the personalities and abilities of the drivers - they're not just robots, they're robots with personalities :sly:

I haven't made much use of the cars I've won, apart from the Zonda, and have 10 million credits in the bank which is more than I can sensibly use (I'm not a car collector and can't justify blowing 20 million on a historic car) so I'm obviously playing it for its own sake.

As with A-spec, I suspect that once I reach the end of the grind I'll relax and go back and play it in a more interactive fashion.

From the beginning I didn't want to do B-Spec at all, but then I got interested in the Furai.
Later I got interested in the X1 and a 100% complete game.

I do all money grinding in A-Spec, since it's much faster.
