Should PC2 track limits system be changed?

A countdown timer is all I really want.
Yes, this would be very nice. knowing how much you have to slow down before your penalty is served would be quite handy. I will say, not knowing does make me more careful though. I don't want a mysterious time penalty, so I try to avoid them altogether. This does effect my lap times though.

To update, 74.2% of people appear to want change. I think it would simply be better with a countdown and be more lenient with running over kerbs. It would be like PC1 without unconditional liftoff oversteer.

It's not %74. You cannot have 2 of your poll questions having the same outcome. It's not Pcars 1. If you want what is in Pcars 1 quit 🤬 playing Pcars 2 and move on.

Well this is an interesting discussion with a lot of name calling. :scared:

From my experience the track limits themselves are fine and possibly a little too leniate on certain corners, COTA sector 1 for example. The issue I have is the overall system isn’t diverse enough with giving penalties. I feel there should be tiers of penalties. There have been countless times I’ve barley went over the line and had to give back way more time than I could have possibly gained. I don’t play iRacing but I’ve watched a little and I’m a big fan of the off track system. Where you receive points for small off tracks, that accumulate over a race distance, when there isn’t any time gained to make a difference. Then if you do gain a chunk of time there is a manual slow down penalty that tells you how much you have to give back. There are some odd time penalties currently as well. Monza Lesmo 2 for example, if you run wide and stay flat by the time you get to Ascari the penalty magically disappears.

The issue with people crashing and having to go off track to avoid them is another big problem. I think that whole system can be abandoned and just rely on slow down penalties. Most of the time if you go off track to avoid a crash you don’t gain time. If the system could detect time wasn’t gained it should work out ok.
