Or, an alternative suggested by the BBC, is that instead of silent voters what is happening is that whilst everyone has been focusing on the urban areas, rural voters have turned out in much, much higher numbers than usual.

Hooray. I threw away my vote again. That's 3 straight elections my vote ended up pointless.

The one based on no evidence right? Ain't wasting my time watching nonsense.

I think we've come to a point in this thread where we've done the back and forth, if Hillary is who you want cool. Leave it at that man. I don't really see the point now on election day where you can claim with absolution that one candidate will be helping the rich over the other. When major institutions of information, monetary, commerce and so on decided to dedicating large sums to both that gives you and idea of things. To suggest or not even warrant the idea that either are bought on only one is based on who you want, is a disservice to a true argument. Enjoy the election!

I'm proud of my fellow rednecks. Sniff.

...witness the power of this fully armed and operational Libertarian machine!

I find it hilarious that she was supposed to walk some of these states.
Compare the FiveThirtyEight poll from 12 hours ago to what every other site is showing if you haven't already. That 71.4% chance of winning looks to have dropped dramatically.

The GTP Decision Desk can now project the following:

Clinton win in Connecticut

Trump wins in the following:
Nebraska
North Dakota
South Dakota

The GTP Decision Desk is still unwilling to project:

A Trump win in Wyoming

I wrote in Kasich but Hillary took my state anyway. I think I underestimated how much gender may play a factor in voting especially in the midwest.

If Trump takes Florida and Ohio he might pull this off.

By the way, are these US states happy at being called "rustbelt"?

It seems like such a disparaging term and the BBC are tossing it around like it's going out of fashion.

Sadly, it seems like it could have been an "error"...

Well, it's a bit disparaging, like "flyover country" or "redneck", but some words have...uh, in-group privileges.

My state has been blue since forever. I wasn't voting Democrat on principle so....

Still not a throw away, once again voting isn't a game of Street Fighter V. You vote based on who you see best fits, not who is most likely to win. That's what homecomings and fighting games are for.

I'm looking at that map and my county was only leaning blue... and barely. That surprises me by a lot.

Oh, no. I do agree. I actually found the presidential ads civil compared to the congressional ads in my area.

It's a corrective term, there is a whole science in labeling sections of the U.S. as Tornado said and also because they've decayed from that once great boom they're known for. Think Detroit past to current.

There's also the sunbelt, the snowbelt, the borscht belt. Pick your belt.

And 538 I think was the most bullish about Trump's chances; other forecasts had Clinton at over 90%.

@Liquid that is what some of the headlines in the U.S. have talked about as well, battles in the rust and sun belts.

edit: Scary how close the battle for NH is.

Do you have a link to it? I'm kind of curious how they thought the breakdown would be.

The smile off the smug git from Camp Clinton the BBC have in the studio has well and truly been wiped off. He was extremely confident an hour or so ago, already referring to her as "President Clinton".

The GTP Decision Desk can now project that:

Louisiana will go to Trump
New Mexico will go to Clinton

No returns on Wyoming at the present time.

I expected to be playing Assetto Corsa by now..instead I'm firing up the Keurig...gonna be a long night methinks:sly:

One will leave the country maybe in trillions more in debt, the other maybe billions more in debt. I agree with Trump that if he wins, it will be like Brexit plus plus plus.
Of course. Make sure and cover your ears and say, "la la la la la", too:lol:
