This is wonderful. I honestly am having trouble believing it.
I always thought he would win, but by the skin of his teeth. Not what we're seeing tonight!

What a disaster.

Maybe now the Democrats will be forced to employ a strategy other than having unbearably smug rich assholes in the media "eviscerate" Donald Trump. This election is a gigantic blaring klaxon alerting the Democrats that people do not care about John :censored:ing Oliver and Jon :censored:ing Stewart.

Thank you, I'd say hug me but I'm married :sly:. Seriously though this is the reality, and to lesser extent (though they'll claim otherwise) the RNC needs to have a break down. They needed something so outside their arena to safely win that this was their answer and they didn't even like their answer. And the fact that he didn't just beat any Democrat nominee, but the person that for the past 8 years was almost guaranteed to win this in 2016...just wow.

90% of Pennsylvania is in, Trump up by .2%. Penn. is Hillary's last hope at winning. There's just not enough support for her left to overcome Trump without those 20 votes. She only has Maine, Minnesota, & Nevada left with her leading; 20 votes.

It really doesn't matter much if your opposition is hated, if you can't even love your own candidate. I feel like the Democrats would have steamrolled this election if anyone else but Clinton was their representative.

I don't, this was their best chance next to some guy named Obama

Hillary can still take Michigan as Detroit an surroundings are still rolling towards her.

At some point there will have to be a real left wing response to the ethnic nationlism and neo-fascism sweeping the west. They're the only people willing to say that there's a problem. Neofascist blowhards like Trump, Farage, Le Pen et al. don't have the first clue how to solve it and their philosophy will only make things worse but at least they're pretending. The Democrats couldn't even be bothered to pretend and thought people would be shamed into voting for a living monument to elitism, political corruption, and neoliberal capitalism for fear of being called sexist. An election framed around working class anger where the midwest was a critical battleground, and the ran the candidate who's inextricably linked to NAFTA. And I'm supposed to believe Sanders was unelectable.

Being called sexist or voting anything that wasn't him would still help him.

Any chance of it being Trump vs the Senate on a multitude of things?

That's a question I'm asking myself, because there are still Never Trumps in power.

Seems the dems backed the wrong horse.....should've gone with Biden. Ted Kennedy was a wise man backing Obama over Hillary.....he obviously knew something then.

You don't think Bernie would have been much better, out of curiosity? The man at least kept himself clean from dirty laundry compared to Clinton & Trump.

Time would have come through and shown his true colors. He didn't stay true to his convictions once there wasn't anything left on the table.

If my maths are right, this is already over, even if Clinton grabs Michigan and Pennsylvania. She'd need Arizona to swap, but that doesn't look likely.

That's true he didn't, but I thought Hillary winning the primary over him which led to him supporting her caused a lot of that. You don't think he would have stayed true to his ideas if he had won instead?

No, I think somewhere down the line he'd have cracked demons would have been revealed. Now I don't think demons would have been revealed via Wikileaks like we saw here, but they would have been found. That's the problem with being a politician. Now the question will be asked to the end of times, was his trash so bad that it could have lost him the election in the end.

I'm kind of interested to see what they may have been. He did get a lot of flack for his tuition ideas or that he didn't have a full-time well beyond the average American age, but I can't imagine that would sink him.

Trump is leading by 2 thousand in Pennsylvania with 96% reporting. This game isn't over if Hillary wins PA.

New Hampshire's showing as only a 15 voter difference on The Guardian. This'll be a close one, even if it's not a deciding factor anymore...

If PA, MN, and NH go to Hillary, Trump must win Arizona and Wisconsin, both Wisconsin and Michigan, OR Michigan and Arizona.

I feel like the Democratic party spent too much time split, plenty time for the Berne half to realize Hilary was a snake in the grass, and to irreversibly lose faith in her. It was probably over from then, but the Republicans did an equally stupid move and selected Donald Trump.
