Pollen doesn't affect me one bit. Which I should be incredibly lucky for. Pollen get's really bad here. Like all the cars are green in the mornings.

Same. I have no allergies. :sly:

Things like Claritin etc are just antihistamines so they just block the production of histamine(the itching). For those of you who suffer to the point where it affects your quality of life there are grass pollen immunotherapy treatments available.

I used to be VERY allergic to pollen, but I've never taken any meds against the symptoms or stuff that eases the overreaction of the immune system to the pollen; I was so mad at my stupid body I simply refused to help.
I think I eventually got used to it, each year the allergic reactions are less severe, now I only have slightly itchy eyes but nothing more (Still annoying though).

I used to use Claritin. Zyrtec seems to work, but my body isn't just responding to the medicine anymore.

Cetirizine (Zyrtec) is the best according to my grandpa. You should probably go to an allergist. My friend works for an ENT. They deal with all kinds of allergies which are especially bad in S.FL. The problem is that sometimes when people are cured of an allergy for one thing, they tend to become allergic to something else. Lol.

Yes, pollen is an asshole :( I have very bad hayfever, every spring ang every autumn is a terrible time of year for me. Just this morning I had a sneezing fit of at least twelve consecutive sneezes. Itchy eyes galore, stuff nose, sometimes the throat as well, not fun. I hate spring as a result. Autumn isn't as bad, but it's still around then.

Well it's tree pollen season here, but I haven't been feeling any symptoms just yet. It's usually the grass and weed pollen that reduces me to lengthy sneezing fits and itchy eyes.

Yeah, hay fever is usually a real pain for me during the summer, although the last 2 years haven't been so bad for me. The last time I really needed medication to relieve the symptoms was in Ireland back in 2009, where I had to take both pills and a nasal spray every few hours.

Ahh the advantages of living here:

Not sure about the other islands though, relatively, there's only a small amount of pollen plants :)
