I was just wondering what cars people used in the PD cup (i think that's what it's called) because you have to use sports tyres, so using a race car would be impossible. Any suggestions would be appreciated 👍

ANYTHING.

You'll have a stupid field of cars - mainly small hatchbacks and econoboxes. Then you'll get something weird at the head of the pack, like the Nissan 350Z.

Any one of the "276hp" Japanese cars will be more than enough. I used a totally stock Toyota Tacoma and walked it.

why not? as long as you equip a set of sports tires on your Racecar, you are allowed to enter those races. unless those races are restricted with production cars only.

cos usually i have found that race cars are very hard to control with sports tyres on

I put sports tires on my XJ220 race car and found it more than capable of staying under control. But that is a very good car in the control dept. 👍

I cheated! i had no idea wot else was entrering so i used the just slightly over power turbo stage 4 tuboed Minolta. won all the races no problems!!!!!, think the 2ns place man was in a slow japenese ca, nothing over 300hp in my races! i dont like cheating like that but ow well!

I just can't figure out why this series is in the extreme hall.......
Lets b honest, why is it even called the extreme hall!?!?!?!?!?, i mean i thourght the GT cup would b hard but i raced the first 3 and won all with great ease so b speced the rest. if nething i wud say its easier than the professional mode, its taken me the shortest time to finsihl, but 1 race in which i quit coz i cuddnt b asked to drive 15 laps of nuremburg! other than that i won em all!

Because it's extremely easy?

That said, I bought a black Nissan 350Z Gran Turismo 4 to do this, but came up against a Mercedes SL something or other and got completely flogged...

The difficulty of the PD cup has to be found. Using an overpowered car just to win doesn't seem like a lot of challenge. It may be fun to drive a LMP around the tracks to see just how many times you can lap the field, so to each his own.
Just use any car that puts you as close to 200 Aspec points as possible and the difficulty will be found in driving that low powered car to it's maximum potential and learning the optimal speeds on the track with the car. It has been quite a while since I ran it, so I don't remember what I used, but I did go back a second time with something to get more points. I still left a few on the table so will be going back again sometime soon.

The extreme hall had nothing with a difficulty that compared to the GTWC. Even the Formula GT was easy.
I would think the Formula GT would be the hardest race.

The GTWC wasn't really hard at all.
I have everything besides the Forumla GT beat in Extreme hall. Those were easier races than some of the Professional Hall.
Unfornately, I don't have a Formula car, so I don't know if I can use a Minolta or anything else against the Formulas.

I`am doing it with my Shelby GT350R. It`s only relatively mild with 390hp,custom `box and LSD,racing suspension, sports brakes and NOS(if i need it) with stage 2 wieght removal.Does excellant power slides if you want ;-),but can a little hard on the sports medium tyres but driven smoothly it does alright.
My problem is a red AMG SL55 i simply cannot pull away from it about 2.5 secs is the max,i`m driving the crap out the stang and he is simply all over me everywhere and therefore i constantly have one eye on the mirror!
It`s getting to the point where from race 5 onwards he is becoming more aggressive and now nips at my rear guards(trying to turn me around or simply ramming me from behind during braking! It`s really getting fired up,any tips???

You can, in fact, use the Toyota Minolta LMP car against the Formula cars, but it won't be easy to win in A-spec (you'll be dead last using B-spec). The Minolta LMP is quite capable of beating them at any race if you are a good enough driver and set-up the Minolta properly. I would definitely say you should win a Formula car to enter the Formula GT if your driving skill is marginal.

dude..how did you possibly got a Nissan 350Z GT edition over 493 HP?...my Z went up to 487 with NA stage 3, and the difference is that is the yellow, not the black :odd:
