Have any of you realised that the number of negative threads vs positive threads may reflect the general satisfaction level people have with the game?

Or that as normal on the internet in any forum there will be more complaints than positives.....after all those who are enjoying the game are more likely to be actively playing it than posting it seems to me.

GT3 and GT4 were released when people had online access. Those threads didn't have the toxicity of threads since GT5. I'd say it's more to do with the general nature of the specific game that drives the issue.

Yes there is certainly that as an element but its human nature anyway to always focus on the "bad" not the "good" - just look at the news. Its only news when its controversial etc - very few heartwarming newstories except for the obligatory ones at Christmas.......

Its interesting you mention GT5 (and GT6 to a lesser extent) as this site was certainly pretty toxic thread wise during those times - been a long time lurker since 2010 so was around then but not posting for various reasons that no longer apply now. In fact I highlighted GT Planet as a potential resource to fellow colleagues who were enjoying the GT PS3 games and they thought the site was very, very negative.........

Frankly I don't see that level of toxicity now for GTS. It was inevitable as a "reboot"of the series it would cause polarized opinion but I see quite a few posts saying in effect that its better than they expected, even without GT League. I also see posts asking for help in improving online racing performance so the sportsmanship message resonates somewhat too. Note too that many believe they received value for money from this game and a number of posts make the point I'm unhappy with X but overall its a good game or words along those lines.

Fully aware it could become more toxic should PD not live up to their commitments by March 2018 including GT League and 50 DLC as the PS3 era was such a searing experience for some that there is a lot less faith in PD than pre GT5 and it would not take much to see the enmity resurface.

Interesting PD seem to have taken that on board focusing on quality before quantity and a published plan (except tracks) for next few months and critically GTS is not a buggy mess at launch so it can be built on in the future.

Inevitably though when the intent is to appeal to millions of players from all walks of life it will not match perfectly the desires of an individual - just like when you buy a car from most manufacturers it is made for many not an individual unless you are a multi millionare of course !

p.s Fully agree unlike some comments in this thread that individual is of course welcome to share his thoughts and wishes i a thread/post (within the AUP of course).

The internet is a very different place now than it was even during the launch of GT5, let alone GT3 and 4.

I just want my voice ti be heard and have pd do something about it. I paid a lot of money to play and the first thing that slaps me in the face is i cant play unless the server is up. Now that is not that bad but then to find out that i also really cant do anything but play online is what really gets me. Given the fact that i dont watch the news because of said negativity. I true have not even look at forums much either. I am very concerned that the world is becoming complacent with the way companies are preying on us. I dont mind the online aspect just dont make that all you can do. Some of us dont want to play with 20 others to have them run you off the track. Then to play it off as they are the ones being inconvenienced. Also the fact that people inherently cheat to get ahead and that bleeds over to the game kinda tics me off. And the online aspect, those player dont get reprimanded so there really doesnt need to be a rating because thise players dont care. I will not let you try to convince people it is ok to accept failure. GT failed when they decided not to bring gt6 over to ps4 and they are failing now with limiting gts to online. I can not enjoy sonething if it is constantly stressing me out because people are cheating like torpedoing and side bumps and such.

But if you don't read forums or the news because of negativity, what makes you think the people at PD will?

Because they are a company that is trying to make money like all of the rest they read forums.
but...

I am very concerned that the world is becoming complacent with the way companies are preying on us.

You said you wilfully bought a game you knew next to nothing about, then implied that this was a worrying trend for other people and that companies would take advantage of this, by making not great products?

If this is the case, why would they care about your complaints?

Not a complaint its a growing concern. Look at the beginning of this post people are not completely upset just underwelmed with the product and the disigners efforts to fail. A company that has been around as longs them they will read esspecially seeing as how we are having an extensive back and forth

Well as you’ve deleted the game @Foxis id like to say thank you for your time here posting, and I hope you find another racing game you can enjoy and post on a forum for that.

Cheers and good luck in your journey.

Mike, thanks for the post. Was checking on this thread for fun, and had to log in specifically to reply to you.

I decided to resubscribe to iRacing and my son wants PCars2 for Xmas and I will try to educate him best I can so he too can join iRacing when he reaches the minimum age.
I simply don't have the time or patience to spend my limited free time being frustrated by GTS, but that is just my personal opinion and choice and I hope those of you that enjoy GTS continue to do so, and that it does improve further on (despite my doubts regarding that).

If anyone wants to stay in touch (for whatever reason) I am moving over to ApexOnlineRacing, and plan on joining one of their leagues next year. So maybe I'll see some of you there. :)

These types of threads are really getting annoying now. Go the the Whining and Crying Thread to vent your frustrations...
Don't tell other members what they can post, where they can post or how they can post.

You don't have the mandate and they are not breaking the AUP.
