Polyphony sure took a lazy approach in implementing some proper real Gr.4 and Gr.3 cars. This is not an opinion, this is a fact.
Some examples off the top of my head:

-There is no GT3 (Gr.3) Ford Mustang in real life. Instead, there is the Ford GT. Polyphony was too lazy to make the Ford GT and instead slapped a tuned Mustang into the Gr.3 class. EDIT: There was a Ford Mustang FR500GT3 in real life. It raced 10 years ago.
-There is no real life GT4 (Gr.4) Nissan GT-R. There is a GT4 class Nissan 370z. Again, Polyphony was too lazy to put the correct car in the game.
-There is no real life GT4 (Gr.4) McLaren 650s. There is a GT4 Mclaren 570. Again, Polyphony was too lazy to put the correct model in the game.
-While there used to be a Ferrari 458 GT3, it has been replaced with the Ferrari 488 GT3. Again, Polyphony was too lazy to put the updated model in the game. There should be the Ferrari 488 GT3 alongside the Ferrari 458 GT3.

These are just some examples of the top of my head. Feel free to post some more and I'll update the post.

***Don't even try to excuse Polyphony for this. When there is only 160 cars in the game (and a pitiful real world track count), with a quarter of them being fantasy cars, and your title is so heavily focused on online racing AND endorsed by the FIA no less, at least put the correct real world models and not be totally lazy.
Again I ask, what was Polyphony doing for the last four years?***

There's actually a Ford Mustang GT3 IRL but it's the late model version plus it's the FR500. Not far off though.

As for the others, I can forgive them not adding the right cars. I made a thread similar to this in GT6 but in the case where the Dream cars resembling their real life counterparts. For example the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car being the fantasy counterpart of the Ford GT GT3, Nissan GTR Touring Car as the fantasy version of the Nissan GTR GT1, and more.

Beats the selection Project Cars 2 gives you!

People like you give everyone on this forum a bad name.

You are completely insufferable.
You know what you are.
Starts with an f, has the word boy in it. The first part of the word is something that is used to swirl air for cooling.
For some strange reason, TOS prohibits it even though it's not a swear word.

Beats the selection Project Cars 2 gives you!
At least Project Cars 2 has most of the real world GT3 cars WITH the updated models.

Ok, I won’t try to make an excuse.

Yeah, but look at how pretty the graphics are ;-) So when you race your make believe cars on PD's make believe tracks, with your make believe steering wheel (hand controller) it just ads to the overall experience ;-)

BTW you left off my favorite GR3 car - the VW Beetle! This one is just soooooooooooo believable it isn't funny ;-)

You haven't demonstrated that PD is lazy. You've demonstrated that they have made questionable decisions in how they approach their car list.

Try again.
If they had the real life models as well as their little fantasy ones, that would not be lazy.
The fact that after four years we have 160 cars with a quarter of them being fantasy cars and six real world tracks points that they are lazy.

Try again.

Nope. All you've done is show that they made questionable game design choices. How does that make them lazy?

You can attribute anything not to your liking to "laziness" if you wish: "Why isn't x car in the game? They were too lazy to model it!" "Why isn't y track in the game? Well duh, they were too lazy to model it!" "Why isn't feature z in the game? Let me guess... they were too lazy to implement it!"

Let's compare: "Why isn't x car in the game? It represents an important part of motorsport history and they would be out of their minds not to feature it in the game."

See the difference?

Saying they made a questionable/stupid decision is not quite the same as accusing someone of being lazy.

So indeed, let's
Try again.

To me it's not a question about forgiveness - or guilt. PD has been lazy, it seems. And that's just a shame, imo.
"Let he who is without sin... blah blah blah" :)

I really dont mind if they use the same base model for N/gr4/gr3/grB. They are better off concentrating on physics, graphics and balancing the game. I think theres a sufficient variety of cars for racing as it is. Gt Sport is all about racing not about collecting cars. Its better to have few cars per class that each feel different vs the usual hundred cars that look different but all feel the same.

This also makes it easier to add whole brands to the game. If they would like to add say Volvo - S60 polestar N300/N500, S60 gr4 and S60 gr3, please do.

I really dont care if the gr4/gr3 follow real world models. It would actually be nice to see something like Opel/ Vauxhall Insignia gr4/gr3. I used to care about driving real world cars, but now I prefere even competition over them.

What we really need is more tracks..

I ****ing hate this modern gaming culture that people accept as normal and even clamour for. Step outside your door once in a while and people might realise how ****ed up it is. What was once the way to cram every bit of content in possible, Gt6. It's now to release half a game and then sell you all the extra **** after. Are people ****ing mental! Slightly off topic this. So more on topic, you know they'll bring these motors out as dlc that the

Types will love. Back off topic, These developers must laugh all the way to their Lambo and continue laughing as they drive to the bank.
It's a ****ing win win, only we're in the wrong business people

I am more frustrated by all the fantasy vision cars more and more. Yesterday 16.11. in the manufacturers race on aseco village again the ugly beetle dominated by over 1 second per lap to all other cars. What do these fantasy cars even do in a real driving simulator? At least deactivate them for FIA races please.
I watched the replay and these cars had like it feeles 2 times the corner speed of all others. Where all other understeer it looks like the beetle said give me more power i can go even faster, I will never understeer. And the other car that annoys me a lot is the citroen gt, or in gr. 4 the other vw vgt.
Looks so ugly and always in the top results. But also many times these cars come along with the most idiotic drivers. Also yesterday 3 of like it felt 10 Beetles in the race were such idiots. Their car was a lot faster but no patience to overtake 1 corner later or on the straight but crashing cars all time in A to S bracket.
Just yesterday i saw that AMG Vision car in a movie and just had to roll my eyes because you clearly saw that this is just a visioncar barely able to drive. His doors opened automatic but it took like 10 seconds hahaha wtf. Please stop that!
Maybe do a second came and call it Gran Turismo 2070 or something.

Edit: It is just a bad joke if you see the real life version of a car barely going 50km/h without braking apart but in the game they manage to drive 500km/h ... suuuuure.

If you like getting shafted by Polyphony by accepting less for more $, that's your prerogative.
You're confused about the difference between opinion and fact.
Fact is fact, even if it russles little boys' jimmies because they can't take valid criticism about their favorite developer who doesn't care about them in the slightest.

It's not laziness. It's the car selection that is questionable. I don't mind fantasy cars since they've always been in GT since the original.

So you are trying to be a smart alec for the giggles, is that it?
Nope. I just don't like it when people make statements of facts which they can't back up, and then aren't mature enough to answer when people point out holes in their argument. Instead, they resort to...

It is laziness.
Putting the correct models takes time, effort, work, man hours. Resources they have being a first party dev for Sony, a multi billion dollar corporation, with four years since the last GT. Taking the base car model upping the stats and putting on some livery does not take nearly the same amount of work.
Laziness.

And it's still not laziness. For you and others it's laziness but for others it's just questionable.

My first paragraph I gave a detailed explanation what was wrong and why PD where lazy.
Andrewhake insulted me. I called him out for what he was.
It seems your reading comprehension and critical thinking skills need a massive improvement over your current levels.

PD took the easy way out.
Laziness.
But this is arguing semantics. Questionable or laziness, it should not be. Not a dev with PD's experience.

You haven't. I even explained to you why you haven't.

That's pretty funny coming from you considering you conveniently glossed over this post of mine:

Feel free to respond to it anytime in a manner that doesn't involve thinly veiled insults.

But does it matter? It seems that this is your own problem and not for others. I don't see any problem in terms of the fantasy Group 3 and Group 4 cars other than not being real.

Seems that you're not yet accustomed to the fantasy cars that PD gives.

You haven't. I even explained to you why you haven't.

1. You have explained nothing. I have given a detailed explanation of what was wrong. You have done nothing just stated I was wrong.
2. Don't need to be the bigger man. I have nothing to prove.
3. I glossed over nothing. You are trying to be a little smart alec by arguing semantics instead of focusing the issue at hand. You don't even have the game.
4. Is not thinly veiled. It is there for all to see.
And this is my response: this is supposed to be an FIA endorsed motorsport game focusing on online racing. After 4 years, and a pitiful car and track count, PD could not be bothered to put in the accurate GT3 and GT4 models at the very least, those two classes which this game is heavily based around.

But you don't even have the game. So why the **** are you on here trying to give attitude.
