Not seen anything on the Porsche specific events yet.
Even though Turn 10 announced from the very start that 23 of the cars would be returning from FM3, I thought that we'd at least get 7 completely new models, such as the highly requested; 917k, 918, 935, 356 etc,
That being said there, are still some fantastic cars in the expansion pack and to be fair to Turn 10 they wanted to bring even more models to the series but EA stopped that from happened.
Overall for me the pack is good but could've been great. the VIP discount helps soften the blow a little

Likely they needed a bigger incentive to sell more VIP passes. People wouldn't pay 1200 points for 5 cars and a monthly event. Giving a discount on all future DLC sure is a huge incentive to get VIP. Of course, T10 will likely only release 2 or 3 more packs including Porsche pack and then another porsche DLC.

Agreed. For a brand with so many iconic road cars and in Forza 3 too many cars that were relatively pretty similar that could have been represented by one variant (No real need for 997 GT3 and RS, nor dupe racers), we could have been treated to a broader selection, such as a 928, a 917, a 968 Club Sport et al.
I think the biggest waste is the beautiful 993 is represented by the most OTT, inelegant version.

Loving all the 911 racecars and liveries. This one seems a lot different then those other ones.
Def one of the better default Cup liveries IMO.
Sorry no new Porsche 991, maybe Turn 10 will get the RUF versions at some point.

Almost seems like Turn 10 forgot about RUF after they struck a deal with Porsche. A lot of us are probably baffled and a bit disappointed that the Yellowbird still hasn't been offered as DLC. I also want the CTR3, RTurbo and BTR.

Yeah, I really want to see those RUF models in FM4, especially the 1987 CTR Yellowbird.
Would love it to included in Autovista, but that probably won't happen.
Lets see how fast they run back to RUF now, in a bid to get the 991 in, albeit not the official Porsche variant

Maybe, but there's no beef between Porsche and RUF. So Porsche doesn't care. And EA only have influence of Porsche and certain cars, they can't stop MS from licensing RUF.
Now and then I hear the argument that Porsche doesn't like to be seen together with RUF for some reason. But the reason you never see them together is because Porsche never appears outside of Need For Speed anyway and RUF is the closest thing to Porsche. RUF is the poor man's Porsche to most developers. I wouldn't be surprised if RUF ended up in Forza because they lost Porsche in the last moments and could re-model the 997/2 they had planned for Forza 4. Now when Forza has Porsche again, RUF will be shoved to the side. We might get the Yellowbird at best if that car is already in the pipeline, but I think it's over with RUF at this point.
The AV thing was done poorly anyways. Clarkson's commentary doesn't fit with the style of showcasing these cars. They're trying to show off these cars in a car-porn manner, but then you have Clarkson mocking some of them. They should have let him pick all the cars for AV or not have his commentary at all. I'm surprised they removed his commentary for the Delorean but not the California. Pissing off the owners of Delorean is one thing, but pissing off Ferrari? Makes you wonder what that was all about.

If you like riveted on wheels arches and a comically sized wing, then fine. The 993 shape when shorn of these things is the purest 911 shape of them all. The GT2 is a caricature of it.

Regarding the Clarkson deal, I don't think it was removed because he was mocking the car. Clarkson did make a crack about DeLorean's cocaine bust, and mentioning drugs is apparently a no-no if you want a family-friendly rating from the ESRB.

The only car in the PEP I reckon will be in AV is the Carrera GT or 959.
