Has the potential to be the ultimate vehicle for urban and suburban people. It may not have a laser focus on doing one particular trick better than anything else, but it addresses all of the everyday concerns. Maybe the perfect car....

Well, seems like the updated 2014 Porsche Panamera photos have been released. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like the Panamera Sport Turismo details have carried over....

Front end looks OK, rear is still mess, which is disappointing considering the great job Porsche did in changing the Cayenne from a dog in to a really good looking car.

It's a shame the Panamera looks so dull as it really is a great drive. I had a passenger ride in a V8S a while ago... fast, great handling, comfortable, amazingly well built, and a fabulous interior with loads of space front and rear.

The rear needs to be changed up a little bit. Too much Bug in it.

I just cant say enough how much i dislike this car....if i had the budget,i would never ever buy this car...just look at the rear...juk!!!

I do know its a very very good piece of kit,but ...damn,it looks like a sad grandma who had botox injected to hide the years!!

I actually saw 1 yesterday on the highway in ferrari red... OMG!!!!

End of rant.

Spy.

It needs to be longer or something....or the roofline needs to be higher to make the rear work....not sure.

The Panamera will look better when it finally gets off the closet and assume that it is in fact a wagon, but changing that much it's impossible with a simple facelift.

That's the thing... "GT" is the in-word amongst luxury marques... which means horribly disfigured rear ends... because, you know... a little less would be a "coupe", and a little more would be a "wagon"... both outdated ideas.

I think the Panamera would look smashing as a conventional sedan or wagon. I agree with Stotty, the Cayenne facelift was a fantastic job, and it's a disappointment that they didn't do something similar for the rear end of the Panamera.

The Panamera is not photogenic at all, but when you see it in person it sort of works. I would still like it much more if it looked like the sport turismo. Maybe for the next gen.

I'm fine with the way the rear looks. The fact it's not trying to be a coupe or look full-on like a wagon is what impresses me. Contemporary Porsche styling almost dictates (If I may share my views) that the roof line has to come off with a mild slope to retain a look of streamlining. Designers could have went full-on wagon and make the window stand almost vertically, but Porsche isn't seen as a utilitarian make so that has to be taken into consideration. Maybe they'll slowly shift into it with upcoming years.

Excellent points, but there is the single example of the CLS Shooting Brake which is a full-on wagon and it does looks a thousand times better than the Porsche, at least at the rear end. Perhaps the more devoted GT buyers will be turned down by the fact that it is a wagon, but there is no question that it is a smashing looking thing.

This is true, if you get one in darker colors and with more sporty wheels it does have a nice presence on the road, the design does suggest movement when looked in the 'flesh'. Get a silver one though, and endure the eyesore.

The back looks worse, but the fromt looks pretty good now. However, they really need to redesign this thing completely. The fake 911 styling still shows.

So far I've seen a couple of these in person & it looks even more horrid. For some reason I was under the impression that the Sport Turismo would take over as the new Panamera look.

The Sport Turismo Concept looks much better than the fastback imo, looking forward to seeing how a production model turns out 👍

Its the German wagon we've been wanting! (*ahem* RS6). Albeit not quite as sexy.

Edit: To clarify, I'm talking about us plebs in the US who don't get certain German machines. ;)

I don't really like the newer style Porsche Panamera, but I've never hated the Panamera. Just seeing one go down the street is enough to get you to notice. I surely see quite a few of these almost every weekend here in the Houston area. The only way you can not make me care about a Panamera is if you give it a horrible color (or colors), give it a horrible body kit, or some horrid wheels. I otherwise am sold on almost any Panamera.
