Very true. Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche Chassis. When a chassis arrives, Ruf builds their own independent work into the car.
Also, they are actually headquartered in Pfaffenhausen, Germany with newly established plant in Dubai. Oh and just to make some of you RUF fans jealous, I live near their American Auto centre:D

Yea i know but since Alois Ruf moved to Dubai as well i thing Pfaffenhausen is been kept alive for represantative reasons only. ;)

Im sorry mate but thats not really true what u r saying!
RUF does not tune Porsches. All they get is the Chassi , the gear box and the engine. Everything else is done by RUF themself. RUF is not a tuning company. They are a manufacturer with their company in Dubai
Technically, you can call them a tuning company. Calling them a manufacturer and tuner is correct. It just depends the car we're referring to.

Badass, isn't it? ;)

They're supposedly waiting for a CTR3 for a US customer.

Well sorry about that last sentence, maybe I just got too excited over RUF. :indiff: But at least RUF is already included in GT so adding those cars wouldn't be a big license problem. ;) But I agree, RUF is nothing compared to Porsche, but I just don't know if Porsche will make it in the full game. They seem to relented to give their license and include their cars in GT. Its just one of those things we have no control of..... :guilty:

Great, need to get a few photos for me please.... :D Lucky bastard......
Well anyways, just can't wait for the CTR3 to be officially launched in the US, should be a great day for RUF. But too bad the CTR3 is not build in mind like the CTR2 and Yellowbird. 375kp/h? Pathetic. They should have aim for the fastest car like the Veryon and the CCX.....

Ruf's new plant is in Bahrain.

And in my opinion, they do tune!

A couple of months ago I wrote an email to Ruf, asking if they are going to develop a new rt12, using the new 997 model with the new taillights and the double clutch gearbox with paddles behind the wheel.
There answer was: they don't know yet because they don't know if this new gearbox is going to withstand the massive torque after they tuned/changed the 997 engine. Getting more horsepower and torque out of an exiting engine is still tuning in my book.

:)

I see no reason why Porsche and RUF couldn't coexist. Throw Gemballa in there, too.

I haven't read this entire thread but could that be the reason that Porsche won't make it in GT5?

At the time of GT4's development, I think Porsche was still under an exclusive license with EA. But then I don't get why Forza had them.

If RUF is in the game, i'm gonna be pissed i'm not driving the CGT. If Porsche is in the game i'm gonna be pissed i'm not driving the Yellowbird. It's a lose-lose

Sure, they have similarities, but they're different enough for me, and even if some don't consider them different enough, then why does PD have tuners already such as Blitz, NISMO, etc.?? If you consider RUF a tuner, then it can be in with Porsche. If you consider RUF a manufacturer, then it should be in, with Porsche!!!

Well, many of the Tuners in the "Tune Shops" of the automakers are owned by the automakers themselves. (I.E. NISMO, Mugen, Ralliart)

Good point. Either way, with PD finally getting Ferrari, I think that was a huge step to HOPEFULLY getting other manufacturers (Porsche, Lambo, etc.)

However, There are tuners like Blitz, Powerhouse Amuse, HKS, Opera and others that are independent.

I would like to see PD having a Porsche license, but that would take a lot of money to have it on GT5. We want to see more RUF, especially the RUF RT12.

I agree with you 100%.

Porsche and Ruf have to be in.

I really don't know the difference between RUF and Porshe, but I do know that RUF's look EXACTLY Like Porshe's in the game... I don't really know if there will be a feel difference, or what... But I do know that I'm happy without them...

RUF builds cars from Porsche bodyshells that Porsche sends them. They do a lot of the engine and suspension work themselves, and are considered an actual manufacturer.

I agree on having both Porsche and RUF on the game.

I would be chuffed to bits if they do include these beautiful cars.

If they can't get a license for Porsche, the least they can do is get licenses to include Techart, Gemballa, and Ruf. But intuitively, something tells me that if they were going to get Porsche, they would hold off from telling us until the very last moment ;)
