This is one of my favorite 911s from the Porsche owner's forum that I go to.

Well not entirely true, with a cheating/hacking device (Gameshark) you could access a Porsche shell in Gran Turismo 3. With the gameshark you could use another cars data and put the Porsche shell on it and drive it in game. I never done it so that is just from a vague memory.

I've never used a Gameshark so I can't confirm or deny that. But officially speaking, Ruf is the closest we've been.

Anyway, here's the original Carrera GT. I want this car so I can have 924/944 vs. FC RX-7 grudge match!

I've done it... That is, I've driven the "996 911" in GT3. It was a gameshark hack but there was an actual Porsche in the game. It was a full car with a different spoiler and front bumper than the RGT. It used the same parts as the RGT but looked slightly different and had "911" on the license plate.
We rarely used it for much since it required the gameshark but it was still nice to have. Likewise, that's how you could get the Lamborghini Diablo racecar. 👍

My greatest concern for these car companies is that they include everything worthy of inclusion (which they never do).
My list would start like this (relative to Porsche)...
Carrera GT
997 GT3
997 GT2
Cayman S
996 GT3
992 GT2 (or was it 993? :dopey: )

As for the 962 racecar... I'd rather see one of those with a livery editor than see PD try to recreate a bunch of privateer entries using the car (which will never happen).

I have the same concern. Porsche has such long history of great cars and I doubt that they will have all of them (this goes for Ferrari as well).

As far as liveries goes, just include the famous ones. Martini, Rothmans, Gulf Oil, etc.

As far as cars worthy of inclusion, here's a P-car lineup that could work. Porsche AG has an example of each so tracking them down shouldn't be hard. And there's plenty of variety & only the significant 911s are included*:

550 Spyder
718 RSK
804
904 Carrera GTS
356 Carrera Abarth

911 2.7RS
935
959 (+ Paris-Dakar rally version)
965 Turbo
964 3.8RS
993 RS
993/996/997 GT2
996/997 GT3RS & RSR variants

924 Carrera GT
951

914/6

986/987
Cayman S

Carrera GT

908
917/30
956/962
911 GT1
RS Spyder

*I realize this isn't a wishlist, but it is relevant to the topic. And if I truly wanted to make a wishlist my 1984 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet would be included...preferably in Rubinrotmetallic!

And here's my DD...It's the next best thing if you can't drive the Porsche. It's just as fun.

thanks! and I'd be just as green looking at a Lotus, as long as it's an Esprit in working condition...Which I hear, is quite rare, lol!

Anyway, back on topic. Name this P-car!

the 1962 Porsche F1 car that got Porsche's Single f1 win, the 804.

Also, I do believe they claimed 5 podiums, with no fastest laps. Also, a non F1WC victory at Solituderennen in Stuttgart. both wins were from from driver Dan Gurney.

Am I right, hehe?

2008 boxster RS 60 (its about time a boxsterRS came out)
Except it's not that kind of RS. You only get about 40 extra horses, slightly more sport suspension, and that's about it. The car's really nothing more than a limited edition tributed to the #42 718 RS behind it.

Wow, that was fast!!

Yes, but it's still better than the previous limited edition Boxster. Besides, you can always gut it yourself.

I can just see it now: "lets Rumble!"

I like Corvettes...Torque anyone? And their car club is as enjoyable as PCA & BMWCCA (which is a big plus in the ownerships of these great marques).

Anyway, here's some engine porn while we wait for some E3 news...
