Possible 'confirmation' of NFS Underground 3?

Most Wanted 2012 AS A GAME was good. AS A NFSMW REBOOT it was the worst they coulda done,

Exactly. Most people who thought it's terrible expected a sequel to the old Most Wanted. I came in expecting nothing else other than Burnout Paradise with real cars, and that's what I got, and I loved it. IMO Criterion should have named it something else.

It's a similar situation with Grid 2. If you were expecting a Grid sequel, the game sucks. But it's genuinely a good arcade game on its own.

Exactly. It's Burnout with real cars and worse damage. And NFS has been that way since Criterion took over from Black Box

You're correct on that and that's what I was getting at, but had they named NFS Most Wanted something else I probably would have understood it better, but what truly got on my nerves is the "Finding the cars" crap it's almost like Skate 3 when they basically said HERE MAKE IT YOURSELF!

Edit: When you guys put it that way that changes opinion on viewpoint lol.

The game still could of been good with the Frostbite engine. The graphics are good though. All they needed to do was to fix the bugs.
The engine itself is the problem. It just doesn't seem to be made for racing games. They probably could get it to work but with a lot of time put into it probably.

These cars I painted sum up EA AND NFS for me:

NEED FOR GREED

Great job on those m8!

I maintain it was awful no matter how you looked at it. Probably the most awfully designed racer I've ever played that doesn't contain the initials "GT5."

In that respect Burnout Paradise was a bad game, as NFSMW2012 was just Burnout Paradise with a new map, different way to unlock cars, better graphics and cops.

I don't get why people still hate MW 2012. It's a fantastic game, the sense of speed is amazing, the way the map was designed allows for driving fast almost all the time.
Online is great too, it has the "party" vibe. Doing different fun challenges (apart from parking to fill up the time) or races. I play the game regularly for 3 hours each week and there is still a huge number of people playing it on PS3.

As for the new NFS title? They should really do everything, add customization to shut up those Underground whiners, put tuners, muscle, exotic etc. Police presence is a must, more realistic though (like in MW2012, no Bugatti cops).
Also do a city and surround it with open roads (imagine Fairhaven surrounded by Seacrest County). Then everyone will be satisfied. Underground people can drag their Civics with spinners and pink neons, and old school NFS players can run from the cops on the freeways with their unmodified... say Diablo SV.

No, because Burnout Paradise had a much more varied map with better physics that were actually responsive, loads more to do, and many more event types. Even the A.I., rubberbandy as it was, didn't outright cheat like in MW. Aside from the inclusion of cops, everything in MW was done first, better, and to a deeper extent in Paradise. And I don't even love Paradise; Burnout 3 is still my favorite in the series.

I once had the opinion that MW2012 and Paradise were the same, and got rid of my copy of Paradise. And while I enjoyed playing MW, I don't remember it as fondly as Paradise. Paradise challenged me more, and delivered more, and while MW made great use of autolog features and tried to reinvent the multiplayer wheel, I still just think that it's just second to Paradise in the overall fun factor and uses the Paradise framework as a bit of a large crutch to lift itself up. Maybe its just because I liked the soundtrack better (MW's was good, but I still remember plenty of tracks off of Paradise while cruising at insane speeds). I think the rubber banding was ridiculous in both games, though. Revenge had to be my favorite, but that's probably because I never owned Burnout 3.

While I agree that MW 2012 isn't as good as Paradise. I really don't think it's a bad game. Ok, single player mode is a bit shallow, but SP in most games nowadays is just training for online. The handling is basically Paradise with a more "weighty" feel. Perfect since we are using real cars now instead of fantasy ones. Online is a hoot with the various challenges. It's not classic NFS, but you got HP 2010 for that.

Anyways, looking forward to what E3 brings 👍

I remember trying to convince myself Revenge was as good as 3 back in the day. It wasn't, haha. Do yourself a favor and play 3. It's universally considered one of the best arcade racers ever made.

The other thing we need to remember is that Paradise came out nearly at the start of the generation, nearly five years before MW. So to make the argument that they're almost identical and MW is good because Paradise was (which I don't agree with, but whatever), you're discounting the fact that Paradise came much earlier and was actually revolutionary in its own right. MW copied the same formula at the end of the generation, and is remembered less fondly, likely because it didn't introduce anything new.

True. It's amazing how well Paradise still holds up today given its age. But MW did introduce a couple of revolutionary things.

Straight off the top of my head:

1) Real cars - Jansen P12 is awesome, but having a real Countach is even sweeter.

2) Performance upgrades - admittedly quite simple, but it still adds an element of strategizing in races and challenges. There is one race where you go from freeway to the old airfield, then back up to the freeway again. How fast you can switch from race tires to offroad tires plays a huge difference. Also for jumping challenges you need to switch quickly between powershot nitro to jump nitro. And many other scenarios.

3) Cops

I agree that MW isn't as polished as Paradise because of bugs and such (I blame EA for this one as they always give short development timeframes), but it did take Paradise's fun gameplay style and improved upon it. Honestly, the only thing I would change is the car unlocking system. Having them all laid out at the start does make the SP progression feel meaningless. Burnout's career system feels rewarding because you're constantly unlocking things.

I haven't played MW 2012 on PC but Paradise was really well optimised. On my PC I get solid 60FPS while on the much older NFSMW 2005 I get a lowly 30

That's odd, you should easily be getting 60FPS on MW2005. Try lowering some graphics options like shadow detail.

Alright, although why would Burnout run better? Burnour is just on default graphics.

One more thing if a "new" and "next-gen" NFS comes out: 60 FPS PLEASE!!!! I could care less if the game runs at 900p, it's a damn racing game!

Has anyone here seen the "Best NFS?" video on their Facebook page?

Turns out they added a little something in it.

Now here goes my theory: THe only screeenshots that shows binary codes of "May 21" are NFS Underground, Most Wanted 2012, and Prostreet. Could the next game be a mixture of all three?

I rechecked the video and i can confirm these are the only shots where the binary codes show up.

Underground and MW 2012 yes, but Prostreet? Could we see a race track or perhaps the return of Autosculpt?
