That definitely looks like test track to me, I really hope they add it to the game

I hope this isn't something PD just quickly whip up in seconds to show off the speed of the X2011 and not even allow us to do it.

You can believe, that it is. Look, how many environments and locations you see in the movie, you´ve never seen in the game. Be sure, that they created this locations specially for the movie to get variaty.

And the drag strips you are talking about are the straights of Top Gear test track and Red Bull Hangar.

Maybe the last X2010 scene is the test track fro GT4, but easier to believe, that it is just a rendered straight for the movie.

I can't remember unfortunately, but what track was used for the initial stop start licence tests? Could it be the same thing?

It was the Top Gear Test Track. :)

If we only could use the full airfield... They already modeled it for god sake... :ouch:

I'm absolutly sure that's the Test Track. And I'm sure too that is coming in form of DLC, they are not going to tease us this way if it wasn't... putting it on the last scene of new intro every GT user is eager to see!

Neither the TG track or the Red Bull Hanger airstrips have 100m increments on it like the Test track from previous GT's.

We can hope it's future dlc! Test track it is, very obvious from the 100m markings.
I hope it's in a future patch instead.
Paying for a 10 Km (or possibly more) barren oval with little use outside top speed testing would seem too much to me.

If it is Test Course, I write this in another thread

First Gran Turismo game came out December 23 1997, and I was thinking maybe next DLC will come around December and include the GT original tracks to celebrate anniversary. Three months is good way to next DLC.

Just a thought I had

I don't wanna spread rumors or anything, but I thought one of the stipulations Ferrari/Lamborghini made was that there would be no hard 0-60/0-400/0-1000 testing, which is why the Test Track remains missing from the game. I mean it doesn't make sense to build SSR7, a very similar track in that it's nothing but two straights and two turn arounds, unless there was some reason not to put a Test Track in the game.
I thought I had read this somewhere on these forums. Wish I could produce the thread/post that I saw it in but searching results in a lot of TGTT threads, and if not thousands of posts on Drag Racing in GT5. lol.

On drag racing... Very unlikely there would be any direct drag racing tracks. A Test Course maybe... but a track like Las Vegas is unlikely, IMO. GT5 wasn't built for the purpose of drag racing. If they were going to add it into the game, it would basically change everything. Drag racing modifications, Drag racing RMs, Drag racing tunes, drag racing tracks, a whole drag racing system, and drag racing events... And then how are they going to govern drags online? Then the game would have to somehow balance every car on roster so there is no rock-paper-scissor drags - I'm talking 1,000hp Supras and the like. Not to mention there is nothing about Drag Racing on the actual box, gaming manual, nothing in the collectors book, nothing in any of the PR material...

Drag racing is a very technical sport in which the results are dependant on a wide variety of factors and conditions. Gearing and power is just the tip of the iceberg. Another concern I'd have for drag racing is that either it would be too boring because it would be too simple (as if they just patched something in real quick like) or again too boring because its too technical. PD would have to find some way to respresent this sport properly while still presenting it in an entertaining way. I think it would be ridiculous to undermind such a major motorsport and if PD were going to include drag racing but not give it the equal respect it has for Nascar and Rally - I'd lose as much respect for GT.

Just far too big of a project for any mere patch.

Definite GT6 thing if anything, IMO. We might see Test Course, but I'm skeptical since it wasn't included from the beginning like it always had been. I just find it weird that they opted to throw in SSR7 in stead of a much more simple Test Course with acceleration hard testing.

Isn't there another game that has Ferrari and Lamborghini that allows drag racing/testing?

Also in the 18-22 seconds of the video, you will see the test track number marking. I really wish PD make it a dlc in the future.

I don't see why GT5 shouldn't add a drag strip, i mean, they have Rally, drifting, F1, Prototypes, nascars, gokarts. The only thing left to add is a drag strip.

Lets hope it is the test track :) It is number one of my top three must have in GT5 :) followed by the Lamboghini Aventador LP700-4 and then an F1 Style kers system :sly:

I Know NFS Pro Street lets you drag race Lamborghini have not seen anything that lets you drag racre a Ferrari :(

Remember back when nfs III hot pursuit came out, and all the cars but the two Ferrari's could race in the hot pursuit mode? They said it was because they didn't want their cars to be connected to that kind of behavior. I believe you could race Ferrari in the hp mode in hot pursuit 2 though.
