I may have stumbled on some GT6 content in the new episode of Top Gear - hard to say. I could be wrong. Go to about 5:50 in the video, and Hammond starts talking about the Renault's computer system - the font and display looks VERY similar to GT's font and display...

But the part I was more interested in, was the bit at 6:05 - where he talks about adjusting the engine note - notice the cars available. There's a Nissan GT-R in the mix, and the Alpine that we've seen in the gameplay and trailers. The Clio v6 and Cup are there, plus an old classic Renault, and even a bike (but I don't think bikes will be included in GT6... I mean, wouldn't we have heard about it at E3...?). The big thing is the Nissan... Why would it be available in a Renault...?

That was the big thing that pulled me in, but after that the display bagan to stand out to me as well.

Thoughts?

Keep in mind it just plays sounds through the speakers doesn't change the engine at all

Yeah, I got that. Poor word choice on my part.

Because they are one company. Use Google in the future.

...Probably should've done that...

But even so, the font and displays are strikingly similar to GT. Considering Renault is with Nissan, then it very well could be that PD played a role in the display, similarly to the GT-R.

The cars shown in the display may not all be available, but two confirmed for GT6 were... As someone else stated, it's a bit of a stretch. But I'd figured I'd share for other's opinions.

Does anyone else find the humor in this..., you drive one car and you're able to hear different engine sounds. While in GT5 you can drive many cars and hear one engine sound.

First comment since 2010? Nice!! :) Quake got a little excited. It's happens to the best of us from time to time. It is a little funny.

The only possible link I can see is that indeed the graphics of the Clio's display look like something Polyphony would make, and it makes sense given that they also made the ones for the GT-R and Nissan is almost the same as Renault, bla, bla. Thing is, the link stops there. Everything beyond is mere speculation.

Well it does bear a resemblance to the GT-R's display... which was designed by a certain company we're all familiar with.

Even if nothing comes of it, the fact that he describes the tech as "real Playstation stuff" is pretty ironic.

Even more ironic is that he's changing the sound of the engine, and we all know how well PD does in that department lol

Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed... Such irony. I didn't really think the "real PlayStation stuff" comment was any sort of hint, since it's a common term on the show.

But, the information that is still giving me a glimmer on the possibility:

-The display font looks very PD-ish, and similar to that of the GT-R
-Renault is with Nissan
-The GT-R AND the Alpine seen in GT6 trailers and gameplay are options in the display system
-We're getting the Sport Megane Trophy V6 2011 in the game, other Renaults could show up as well, especially with the Nissan ties

If I'm right (and I'm probably not), then GT6 may also have the V6 Clio, a racing Clio, and a classic Renault.

I'd just find it SUPER ironic (considering that I'm right, that is) that this "leak" was in internal engine notes made by PD.

The system is incredibly similar and the Clio RS is Renault's premier sport model so it wouldn't surprise me if PD was involved in its multimedia system's software.

MASSIVE LOGIC JUMP TIME, AND A CRAPLOAD OF ASSUMPTIONS

Judging how good the fake sounds in the 2013 Clio RS 200 are, and combining that with the fact that Polyphony could be responsible for the center multimedia console, this could mean that PD is responsible for these sounds and they are examples of what we could hear in game. It could also mean that a Renault 8 Gordini has been recorded for future use in GT6, but that is just wishful think. (note sounds for some weird Jetson Hovercraft shaped like a suppository and a bike that looks nothing like anything in Moto GP that is called Moto GP for some reason are also available in this Rsound feature).

Can we get a personal video of the sound system that isn't from Top Gear? Never mind I found an example. Seems the system is called Rsound Effect. The GT-R sounds seems to be exclusive to the Clio RS 200. And the Jetson hovercraft sound is hilarious.

And remember, Polyphony did promise more partnerships with various car companies. The most recent PD job I remember was the design of the new generation of Formula Nippon cars. This Rsound could be yet another example. Or, it could be completely unrelated. We will only be able to tell when/if PD makes an announcement.

The hovercraft thing (Renault Reinastella, flying car concept) gives away how that system works. Sounds additive, which is one way PD could do it, but it'd need more advanced control.

You're going to fit in well here. 👍
