I'd have to disagree with you on the AE92 Hatch Sedan. It is, after all, a hatchback

I can see what you mean though.

Ugly indeed.

I was showing a comparison between the 3 body types. I know the liftback isn't like the camaro but I feel hatchback doesn't fit that body type.

Think VW Golf and all the other little hot hatchs of that shape.

Actually, I was agreeing with you on the AE92 Liftback. My disagreement was the AE92 Hatchback alone.

What package(s) do you have on your Z Kyle? I've looked at a few, but I don't want one with those 5-spoke wheels w/ the flat-looking design. More interested in the concave-esque ones like yours.

Full time was available in 88. The primer one is front wheel drive.

Ahhh, Subaru front wheel drives. My dad had one, it was a then-brand new '90 Justy, and man was that thing tiny. Cool, but tiny. Going from riding in a '71 Ford Maverick to riding in a '90 Subaru Justy was an adjustment

What I wasn't aware of was selectable AWD, I figured Subaru made the leap straight from FWD to AWD.

Learn something new every day.

My baby: a 2001 Acura RL

It's big, heavy, and pretty powerless (210hp from a 3.5L v6... wat) but I love it. She isn't perfectly cosmetically, a lot of bits of rust and chipped paint. Other than that, it's a beautiful car, pictures don't do it justice. I think the styling is timeless, much unlike the 80s. It's my first car, handed down from my dad, who got a BMW 335d. and holy crap that thing is a torque monster. 425 ft-lbs. but enough about that.

that's 177k on the clock. I'm thinking the engine and trans could do 250k. Just hoping nothing else fails sooner.

Justy is cool! Kei cars are sweet!

Heck yeah dude! Probably contributed to me getting a Fiesta last October (still have it but it's my wife's car now since I have the Mach 1). I've never fully understood what seems to be a widespread aversion to Kei cars, they're a blast to ride in (I did call it tiny but I also said it was cool ;)) and they're easy to throw around corners, really easy to park, and can be wound up on the street without breaking any traffic laws :D

Pretty nice overall. As for the rust spot, it seems to be common on older Hondas and Acuras. In the condition your car is in, I'd say it's worth it to take the car down to a paint and body shop and have it fixed. It's worth saving it now so you won't have to deal with rust perforation in a few years.

Nice RL 👍

Thanks. And yeah it's definitely worth fixing. As far as I can tell, the paint is bubbling nearby so I can only imagine that the rust will spread if left alone. We've been talking about getting a quote for the rust. I'm hoping it'll be somewhere under $1000.

I'm hoping my next motorized purchase will be 2 wheeled.

Yeah, it's probably not going to be cheap, unfortunately. Shouldn't be more than a day or so though, probably half a day if the body shop is a good one.

Best purchase I made was a 2003 Kawasaki KLR 250. Sold it on my quest to upgrade to bigger and better bikes but still love that little 250 to this day. I think you'll enjoy making the purchase, motorcycling is a blast!

Spartan, nice 3.5RL. I almost bought one for a winter beater but decided against it. The body was FLAWLESS but the motor had 300k on it wtF????? Would've been a horrible idea.

1983 BMW 635 CSI.

Have it for 8.5 years now. Bought it when I still lived with my parents, but 7 months later I got a place for my own, and the money went to other things then my car.

I worked as a car mechanic, and after a week of greasy hands, I didn't want to spend any time in my own garage. But now, finally I'm putting the car back together, I bought an black leather interior for it, the old interior used to be grey, but for some strange reason it turned green. And it was ugly green.

The car has only a few small patches of rust, nothing for me to worry about. The inside floorpanels and trunkfloor are complety rustfree, and now coated in metalpaint.

Yesterday I've put a battery in the car to check all the electronic parts, as it has been 6 years that any juice flowed through it, and as a Good German car, everything worked. I was very happy with that.

Hmm. Maybe I should start a project car thread.

Please restore that machine back to it's former glory! It's one of my all time favorite BMW's.

It will be, but for now I am doing all the stuff that doesn't require a wallet emptying shopping spree...

Hah that's what I was saying. For whatever reason, acura powertrains up to like the 2004 model year (all KA9 RLs) literally last forever. From some acura forums, I saw some guy who had a second gen Legend (the spiritual predecessor to the RL) that had 450k on the engine and trans. They are quite amazing cars. And it would make a good winter car too, for such a heavywheight it never has any problems in the snow.

And beautiful Miata. I've actually been considering an NA for down the road a couple years. Cheap to maintain and insure, good on gas, and fun to drive. If you ever decide to sell, shoot me a PM :sly:

Dennisch: it would be a great idea to make a project thread :)

I'll hopefully be there soon enough. My parents (mom especially) didn't like the idea too much, and said that it won't happen as long as I live under their roof. So a bit of patience is required, and it's quite painful... looking at a ninja 500 or a non redesign (i.e. not 2008+) 250.
